Wilson Staff Di7 Irons

Wilson Staff Di7 Irons

DESCRIPTION

Simply stated, the new Wilson Staff Di7 irons are not like other clubs. A lower profile moves the center of gravity down for higher ball flight. A wide sole moves the CG back for greater stability and straighter ball flight. A wider tip shaft prevents twisting on off-center hits. If you want to hit it longer and straighter, try the new Di7.

After trying to play a set of Cleveland CG4's for almost a year, I decided to try something new. I went down to the local Edwin Watts and hit different irons for 2 Hours in their test area. After some persuasion by the salesman, I gave these a try. They were fantastic! The feel and the difference in the way I was striking the ball was very noticeable. I usually play Clevelands, Cobra's, Pings, or some other high end irons...but these Wilson Staff Di7's were just too good to pass up. After going to play twice since getting them, I didn't notice that much more distance, but I did notice I was getting a straighter mid-trajectory. I was extremely pleased with these clubs. Some of my golfing buddies were giving me a hard time about playing a set of Wilson's, but after they took a few swings with them-they admitted what a great set of clubs these are. I definitely would recommend these clubs...so would my friends.

After a 2 year hiatus from playing golf due to foot surgery, I was given the green light to resume my only vice...GOLF! I started researching and looking at the different models right after the first of the year, I had it narrowed down to the Wilson DI7 and the Cobra S9, I selected the DI7. The standard set comes 4 iron thru gap wedge, it should also be noted that the standard set are app. 1/2 longer than other mnfg. I picked these clubs up on March 16, 2007 Played 9 holes with them that afternoon in 50 degree temperature shot 41. THe irons are so solid, hits on the toe work there way back toward the center of the fairway. Played 18 holes the next day, if I had in doubt in this purchase they were erased on the first hole, I hit a 7 iron uphill 150 yds. the ball was just past the hole. It took some time to get my yardages figured out with each club, I figured I am about 1/2-1 club longer on each iron. The fun really began. THe ball flys high and far...real far!Wilson deserves high marks for these beautys. The clubs are the "Best Kept Secret In Golf" If you are searching for a new set give these an honest tryout, you will end up taking them home.

I recently purchased a Brand New set of the Wilson Staff Di7 irons as a replacement set for my Deep Red Distance Irons.
Having undertaking research into the Di 7's and reading all the reviews I decided to purchased them as I have always been a fan of Fatshaft Technology.
Having played approx six rounds with them I must say that I am extremely dissapointed.I think that they are no better than the Deep Red Distance Irons.Indeed the Distance Irons offer a softer feel and suprisingly more distance.
The uniflex shaft did not work for me compared to the regular shaft of the Distance irons.
Despite all of the advertising generated by Wilson Staff ltd these irons do not live up to the hype.
Fortunately I held on to my old Distance Irons which I will start using again. With regards to the Di7's, well they are being listed on E-Bay this week !.

Bought these from American Golf for an amazing £280 using pricematch. They are outstanding, I am hitting balls higher, longer and more accurately every time, with what seems like absolutely no effort - What more could you ask for?

I have been playing golf sporadically for about 5 years and regularly (weekly) for the past year with a set of Wilson XP31 irons.
Having added a Big Bertha 454 and 100 yards to my game at the start of 2006 I decided to change my irons in November. I came upon the Di7s as they seemed to be aimed at my level (over 50, 24 handicap).
I have had them out on 3 occasions since purchasing in typically Irish winter conditions; soft to muddy underfoot, and am delighted with the results so far. For me, thay are playing 1 to 2 clubs longer and much straighter.
I find that I need to flex my knees a little more for the 6 to SW but the ball flies earlier, higher and longer.
I need a bit more time with the 4 and 5 as I have found that I need to slow my swing down and let the clubs do the work to get the best out of them. When I manage this the results are immediately noticeable.
Roll on 2007 and hopefully breaking 90 for the first time.
Thanks Mr. Wilson!

I probably don't fit the mold of a golfer who goes to a supposed game improvement iron like the Wilson Staff Di7. Being a school teacher and a high school golf coach I play daily and then some during the summer. I routinely shoot par or better on my home course. I recently boxed up and sold my Mizuno MP-37 irons after purchasing the new Wilson Di7 irons for a ridiculous price on Ebay ($200 plus $25 shipping.) The new Di7 has an awesome feel. They are far more crisp through the ball than the MP-37, are definitely a club longer and despite the reputation of "game improvement" irons they are somewhat workable. I primarily try to be just a straight hitter with even a slight fade, but the Di7 promotes more of a draw with my swing. Not a sharp draw, but very mild to straight. The shaft is listed as Uniflex (by True Temper), but feels more like stiff to me. It's a fairly heavy club, not unlike the MP-37. The Di7 is flat a club that inspires confidence and the buy I got was impossible to pass up. I realize going from an iron with the reputation of a "players" club like the Mizuno MP-37 blades to the Wilson Di7 is a bit of a strange turn most would think, but I'm convinced I made the right choice.
