I needed a new set of clubs. I shot the Calloway X-12's, no way I'd buy those, dull feedback, not as accurate, and ugly. I shot the Titleist 962 & 981's, they were OK, never got a real good feeling when shooting these. The Cobra cavity backs were horrible, nothing more to say. I did like the Taylor Made Firesoles, but the price was to high for me. I tried the Fat shafts, loved them, and was sold. More distance, and stable. I hit these the same way every time. On a still day I can hit any club in the bag and continously land within 5 yards! (Now if I could only get my putting down!) For verification I went back and hit all of the above clubs again, and still returned to the Fat Shafts! I have had these clubs for about a month now. I've been on the practice range 14 times, and played 3 rounds. I still believe these are some of the best clubs out there. I highly recommend them to anyone!

I was custom fitted with these new Fat Shafts hoping to improve my accuracy. To my surprise, this and much more was seen the first time on the driving range and golf course. Less torque, more feel, 10 yards increased per club, greater accurancy and higher trajectory were all welcomed changes resulting from this reasonably priced set. Most of all, my short irons have inproved the most. I believe this may be a result of the custom fitting with myself being 6' - 3"" tall and previously purchasing standard clubs off the self.

These clubs are absolutely stunning to look at in the bag. Set up is like a blade. Distance is about a club longer than standard expectations. They feel very solid at impact and you actually gain confidence as you play them. The fat shaft generates that confidence.

The marketing claims are very true. Deadly Accuracy and Remarkable Distance. My dispersion is now much lesser and I gained at least 1 club in distance! Most forgiving club I ever used. Well worth the money, super value if you don't mind the dull feeling it gives.

In a word, AWESOME. I tried the Mizuno T-Zoids, Tommy Armour 855s, but these are far and away more forgiving and longer. As much as 2 clubs over the T-Zoids. If you are serious about improving your game, you should demo a set of these clubs. For the money, I don't think there is anything on the market that can touch these clubs. Try 'em- you'll like 'em.

I demo'd a set with the graphite shafts and bought myself a new set a week later. I played a set of Ping Zings for a couple of years, but these irons are at least 1-2 irons longer plus alot more forgiving. I would recommend these to anybody. If you are looking to buy a new set of irons, then you owe it to yourself to at least try these clubs.

These irons deliver on their promise of better accuracy with a large sweet spot and excellent forgiveness on non-sweet strikes. I hit them much straighter than my previous set and could not be more pleased with this aspect of the design. The extra length reported is IMO largely illusory, and simply due to decreased loft in the short irons. For example, I hit the 9 iron almost 2 clubs longer than my previous set. However, I hit the 3 iron only about 1/3 club longer. Personally, I would prefer a consistent 12-15 yard gap between each club, rather than the short gaps in the 150-200 range and huge gaps below 150. However, I solved this problem by adding the 3 extra wedges (gap, sand, and lob) to cover the shorter distances. I don't carry the 4 or 6 irons as I find it just as effective to simply hit soft 3 or 5 irons for those distances.

When a friend told me to go select a new set of clubs as an Xmas present(price not a factor), I set out to hit everything on the racks, trying just about everything out there. I have never hit a more forgiving, longer set of clubs in my life. These are at least 1-2 club lengths longer than anything out there. And the sweet spot is very large. Mis-hits were still straight, just a bit shorter, which leaves you in good shape for next shot. Ball flight is high and distance is huge. Don't let the price fool you...if you can stand the thick top line and the overall thick shape of the shaft, you are cheating yourself if you don't try these clubs. The ones I got are the brand new ones, with the Platinum shaft and wider sole...(no fat shots). I have put away my 7-wood, I now carry a 4 iron and sometimes a 3.(4-iron is 210-225 yds). The Wilson grips seemed a bit large, so I re-gripped them, but accuracy is still awesome. If you like the idea of hitting an 8-iron 160-170 instead of a 6-iron...TRY THESE CLUBS.....THANK YOU WILSON FOR TAKING ME FROM A 12 HANDICAP. TO A 9, INSTANTLY!

You name it...have hit 'em all..only thing I liked nearly as much were the Armours. No distance comparison, though.

I consistantly shoot in the high 70s or low 80s with a set of clubs I bought back in 1985 (Wilson 1200 GE) but I decided I needed another set of irons so I decided to start looking around. I have looked for the last year at different clubs (Big Bertha, Mizuno, Taylor Made etc.) I hit the clubs at the golf stores and from the driving ranges but until I tried the Wilson Fat Shaft irons I never found a set that I really liked. You know what I mean when I say that. You pick up the club and it just feels right and you know that you can hit it. I bought the clubs and within two days I was at the golf course and I was hitting the clubs anywhere from 15 to 25 yards longer than normal while swinging easier and with more control. As you can tell I like these clubs and for the price ($450) they sure were a good buy.
