Wilson fat shaft RM signature irons
The irons are the most beautiful thing to look at. When you hit the sweet spot it feels very crisp. These 2001 Wilson fat shaft RM signature irons sets up very nice with the thin top line. The 450 stiff shaft feels more like a firm to me. I played these irons for about a month and found out they are for the lower handicaper. It is sitting in the corner now until the golfing gods make me better. I need a bigger face. The face and grooves are like new and played for only a month. The bottoms show signs of use for a months worth. If anyone is interested I'll sell these to them for $299 + shipping and take the lost. I installed brand new Winn grips which cost me $40 installed. I am sticking to my Hawkeyes until I start shooting in the 80's. FIRST COME FIRST SERVE!!! Customer Service never had to use them. |

These clubs are awesome. They have so much feel its unreal even though they are made for the better player they are even quite forgiving. They also feel so solid when you strike the ball the combination of the forged head a fat shaft are great and so straight when hit sweet.Shaft wise go for the 4.50 as appossed to the 5.00 they have a bit more feel.Go out and try these clubs but be quick cos Wilson are not making them them anymore. Not a review. More of a question. Has anyone played both the fatshaft RM and the standard RM. Any difference? Would you recommend. Let me know. My e-mail address is thesilkiest@hotmail.com I love these irons. Big Robert Mendrala fan but not sure about fat shafting it. Customer Service Crappy. I like the forged irons with the nice thin line but Wilson is focussing on deep cavity backs now. Disappointing. Similar Products Used: Cobra-Norman Wilson Staff Titleist- |

Wilson Fatshaft Midsize Forged RM
I purchased these clubs on ebay for a great deal - $225 canadian! my first round of golf after buying these irons, i shot an 84 (10 strokes off what i normally shot then). i had heard that forged clubs were more difficult to hit and really gave you a "jolt" if not hit properly. i am not a great golfer but i did not find vibrations too be any factor, nor did i find the sweetspot too small to find. these irons set up to the ball better than any club i have ever demoed. the clubs are about average distance but are staright as an arrow. the length isn''''t as great as i was expecting but the accuracy is fantastic. the only problem i have with these clubs is that when the ball is hit wrong, the ball does not travel very far (far shorter than with cast irons). although the ball doesn''''t go when you chunk it, it does maintain a sense of accuracy. overall, i recommend these clubs for anyone who is concerned with accuracy over distance. i went from a shooting low 100''''s to high 80''''s low 90''''s in less than one season! a great value if you can find them! None Came back to the site to have a look at what I wrote 2 years ago in relation to these clubs. My enthusiasm was unfettered and a little over the top but I will say that I played off an exact handicap of 18.3 when I bought the Fat Shafts and my current handicap is a respectable 11.7. These clubs have given my game a consistency that was previously non-existent. I would happily recommend them as a game inproving iron to any mid to high handicap who is looking to lose some shots. The only fault I found was that at 6''1" I should have had them fitted as I tend to dig the toe in a little. Still that was my fault and not the clubs. Well done Wilson. None Last year I produced an 8 handicap using Lynx Black Cat tour irons and last winter I traded an old laptop for these Irons. Now this season I only got to play 13 times to I don''''t really know my handicap, but what a feeling. These clubs were incredible (rated a 4 only for the grip issue below). I had the loft bent 2 degrees weak of todays standard, to better match what I''''m used to, and the control of these irons is awesome. I really can''''t wait to play a full season next year. The only negitives were the grips that were on them. They were tour velvet (I like Full Cord) and they all seemed to have been put on a little crooked. I always take my grip WRT the logo on the grip no thte club face, so if a grip is off, my shot is off. But that will be changed this summer and all will be right again. These irons are so good, I am going to look into the wedges. Later BIG DOG Customer Service NA Similar Products Used: Tried out titliest 990s. |

Good club, great concept. A little help on a forged club I thought would be a big seller. Too bad it wasnt. Have always loved Wilson forged. Reasonably priced and beautiful responsive clubs. I also lamented the closing of Wilson forged. Im not in marketing but feel in my gut that its a huge mistake. Cast clubs are usually ungainly, with hot spots vs. sweet spots and harder to accurately club with. Being a feel player I never got the sweet feel of a pured shot with a cast club. Seriously considering going back to 2nd Swing Golf and getting a set of FG 17s or the like and reshafting them. But would highly recommend the RM midsize if you can find a new set. They can be Had for as low as $300 new for those with old stock. I bought these clubs this year and all I have to say is "WOW". People who ask me if I like them get the same answer, "All you have to do is aim, lock in the target, load and pull the trigger and it will go where you aimed" These clubs give the accuracy you need, while giving you the ability to shape shots and are very forgiving for those not so great shots. These clubs have allowed me to go from consistant low 80's rounds (last year, with the odd high 70's) to a consistant mid to high 70's this year. These clubs gave me the perfect opportunity to bring my game to the next level. Similar Products Used: Titleist 990's and 991's, Mizuno, Callaway X-14's |

One of the most beautiful irons around, I have tried these with both the fat and skinny shafts and the difference is unbelievable. These are perfect for my swing and the feel from the clubs is great. There is not a 20 yard gain with each club, just a gaining of confidence from hitting more consistant shots. As they have stopped making these you can pick up some great deals...you won't be sorry. This set is AWESOME!!!!!! I hit it straighter than ever!! Control is even better than steel shaft, might because of the diameter of the shaft!!! I hit a round of 85 the first day switch to these!!! BTW, Distance is much easier to control!! Got it new from Dick's Sports during sale for 399!!! What a Steal!!! Similar Products Used: Cleveland TA 4, Snake Eyes TC-01, Taylor Made Burner |
