Tour Edge V Blades
I have to admit I am a big Tour Edge fan. That said, if anyone is at all curious about getting perhaps one of the finest clubs available regardless of cost, consider the V Blade from Tour Edge. It is absolutely smooth...when you crunch down on a 8 or 9, the ball jumps in the sky with a sizzle thats heard when you cook a steak! And the pure, effortless feeling of hitting a forged blade is intoxicating. The muscle back design seems to remove any "tinny" feeling you can get with other cavity backs, and game improvement type clubs. There would be a bunch of pros on the Tour who would play these if their contracts didn't get in the way. But thats another story! I had my set re-shafted with Rifel Precision 6.0, 1/2" long with the entire set 4 degrees up. It took a while for my swing to adjust to a natural upright stance from the crouched over stance we are forced to adapt from the flatter lies of "stock" clubs..and that's another issue - after playing with these sticks for 4 seasons, they still feel great. The 8 is starting to wear out but that's because it is my "warm up" club and main practice club I will groove for a bucket or two while at the range. If you can find a used set for a killer price - it may be worth it to grab them then have the set built up to your specs. Even if you are a 90's, 100's , or more shooter - with the right shaft, these clubs will have you sticking pins or at least finding the fat part of the green on a regular basis. My first round back after surgery I shot an 81 after opening up with a double-double-quadrouple!!! I setteled down to find a couple birdies and an eagle to finish off the par 5 18th. To think I could have been in the 70's if I didn't try to go across the water on the #3 par 5. Oh well, a good case for course management - could have went 4, 7 then wedge. Par would have saved me 4 strokes and an ultimate score of 77. Play the Hogans and the Mizunos then play the TE V Blades...It's like choosing weather to drive the Ferrari, Porsche, or Mercedes. Customer Service Tour Edge is tops. Period. |

Tour Edge V-Blades Irons
I changes clubs last year after trying a set of cavity back rounded sole knock-offs. It just didn't feel like golf, especially if you like a clean shot that pops a good divot. I than wanted to go back to tradition and bought a set of old forged Hogan irons. This gave me back a feel for the forged. Then at the the pro-shop I saw a set of Tour Edge V-blades. Initially, I thought they were Titliest 690 cb's. When I saw the price I bought them and played a round. what a surprise. These irons hit like forged irons that were twice the price and had the traditional look and feel that I was looking for. I am on my second season with the Tour edge V-Blades and I have no intention to change. The only thing I did change after a fitting is new Winn grips (wraps) and I added 2 degrees of loft. This took away that slight tinny feeling and made them a dream to play. I replaced the 3 and 4 iron with a Taylor Made rescue, and believe it or not, I am still using the 15 year old Ben Hogan Apex Edge 2 iron for trouble shots that require distance. Customer Service Tour Edge service and availability ranks right up there with the best. Similar Products Used: Titleist 690 irons Ben Hogan 1990 Apex Edge irons |

I started golfing 6 years ago. With a cheap set I aquired at a garage sale(40 bucks). This was enough to get me hooked. I could not break 125. Typically in 130's. I then bought a set of Toski "Game Improvement" clubs. With these I also bought a 10 degree Tour Edge Bazooka Driver and Adams Tight Lies GT fairway woods. Over 4 years my game improved to 115-125. Not much improvement. Last year I decided, in my opinion, that game improvement clubs are a joke so I decided to buy a good set of forged irons. After testing all the top clubs, Nike,Calloway, Mizuno, etc., I decided on Tour Edge V-Blade. For me they feel and hit better than anything else on the market.I also did something very unconventional. (I have a wicked slice). I bought a 9 degree off-set Tour Edge Bazooka F-4 driver. And since I was buying these, I also picked up the Tour Edge J-Max Titanium fairway woods and Super-Spin wedges, sand and gap. As it was right before x-mas and there was a sale on I paid less than $1000.00 for the whole set. The big point here is that in 1 season my score dropped to typically 100 to 105 with some games up to 110. And 3 games in the 90's. The V-Blade is such a consistant shooting club that next year I expect to be shooting in the 90's with some games in the 80's. I shoot very straight shots with these clubs. Also, the offset 9 degree driver has taken me from being in the woods 75% of the time to being on or just off the fairway 75% of the time. My distance has increased though the entire club line by 15- 20 yards per club with the exception of the driver which increased from 210 yards ave, to about 250 yards ave. I have even hit the 290's a couple of times. Unheard of with my old clubs. One more thing. I have NEVER taken a lesson! I am hooked on golf but half the fun for me is the learning and I would rather learn on my own. I am so impressed with these clubs that I will never change them. Customer Service When I was fitted for my clubs I was told I would get them in 2 weeks. To my suprise they arrived in 1 week. Very impressive. |

Tour Edge V-Blades
Just thought I'd write a follow-up review to the one I posted almost two years ago. I've stuck with the Tour Edge V-blades for two full seasons now, and seen my handicap drop from a 7 to a 5 (summer 2002) to a 3 (summer 2003). I've toyed with putters, picked up a new lob wedge, been through two drivers (and settled on the 350cc Bazooka, oddly enough and by coincidence), but I have never really been tempted to trade out of the V-blades. I leave the 2 and 3-irons out of the bag in favor of a 21o Nike hybrid club, reflecting my lack of confidence in the long irons. I'm pretty sure it's just me and not the clubs. Anyway, I just haven't found any club on the market that seems to set up to the ball for me as well as the V-blades. I'll be sticking with them for another season, at least. Price in the discount market seems to have dropped to around $400, by the way, so these clubs can be had new for a really good price. Similar Products Used: I have an old set of pure Wilson Staff tour blades (circa 1979) that I use every now and then out of nostalgia. The one product that has caught my eye is the TaylorMade RAC MB irons, but I'll be keeping the $700 in my pocket and playing the V-blades. |

I used Nike equipment for about two years. I just didnt like the way that those irons felt. I switched over to the Vblades and love them. I currently own one set, and I own a set of the pure muscleback blades that Tour Edge makes. I use the Vblades in matches and the musclebacks in practice. I'm currently in the market to find another set of Vblades for when my set gets worn out. Great product, for a good golfer who wants a little more forgiving club then a muscleback but also wants everything a muscleback has to offer Similar Products Used: After getting the irons, I was so happy with them that I purchased the Tour Edge IRON WOOD Tour 2 iron. Wow, greatest club in my bag. I also have the Tbalance putter. However, I use my Two ball center shaft putter more. The putter is great, but not as good as the Two balls in my opinion. Tour Edge really knows what they are doing. |

Took a flyer on these irons last spring. They had the new shaft (DGX100 lite) I was looking for and they set up so nice that I wanted to give them a try. They are definetly not for everyone but there is a lot of quality in this club. I used them the entire year and plan to use them again this season. I'm around a lot of really good players and, to a man, they all liked the way these irons set up. I think for many good players that is as critical as anything in their purchasing decision. If you are looking for new irons, find a way to test the tour edge V-blade. Customer Service The pro I bought them from was great and the customer service by Tour Edge was awesome. Similar Products Used: I have played and enjoyed Titleist. I tried Hogan and Cleveland and thought their products were very good also. |

I have played the comp 950s for almost 4 years now, and i love them, but now that my game has gotten better i need to switch to a more blade style iron. The v-blades alow me to work the ball better and i can control the trajectory a whole lot better. The comp 950 are an oversize head with the lift-off soles that cause a high ball flight. I still get a lot of distance but most of the time i hit into the wind, the ball will baloon on me. THe v- blades don't. I can work the ball with my comp 950s but its not consistant. The v-blades allow me to work the ball every time. My confidence has increased tramendissly since my recent change in clubs. The v-blades allow me to stop the ball on a dime off of my short irons, and my long irons keeps the trajectory low and the ball travels further. My distance has increased by about 5 to 10 yards on each iron. I have tried all of the other blade style clubs out there, and i didn't get the feel i did with the v-blades. These clubs will be in my bag for the rest of my golfplaying years. Customer Service When i ordered my v-blades, i got them all custom fit to my swing. I custom fit my comp 950s as well. It was all included in the price. It is such a great deal that Tour Edge offers. The wait time for Similar Products Used: titleist and ben hogan |

I ordered these clubs based on reviews I''''d read, club specs, and good feel demo-ing a six-iron at the golf shop and range. After about 6 rounds of play and dozens of range sessions I''''m not 100% enthusiastic. From about 6-iron through PW the feel is great, I have great confidence, and get pretty consistent results. For the 5, 4, and 3 iron, however, I don''''t have as consistent results. The long irons even look different laying down behind the ball than the short irons. I guess I''''m not sold on the shift of the weight from behind the ball down toward the sole in the long irons. But, I''''m willing to work with these for a while and see if I can iron-out my lack of comfort. Finally I usually chip with an 8-iron or 7-iron, and these clubs lay down great behind the ball for chipping. I find that my chipping stats are much improved this year, mostly because when I look down at the club behind the ball I feel completely confident. Customer Service Clubs arrived within a week of my order to my specs. I thought that the extra costs to alter shafts and grips from the standard issue were a little high. |
