I have (mis)played Hogan, Ping and Calloway. This year I decided to buy new clubs. I, of course, looked at the fancy (and expensive) brands first, but decided to base my purchase on what internet reviewers have had to say. I never would have bought these clubs on my own, but am I glad I did! Wow! They are good looking, accurate and long. I now hit a 7 iron 165, which for me is long. I also hit them straight. I strongly recommnd these clubs Customer Service NA |

I first posted a review on these clubs in July. After six months and many rounds later, I''m still very pleased with the feel, distance, and accuracy of these clubs. Wear has been excelent although I did replace the stock grips with Winn oversize grips. I have been able to work the ball with a draw being the easier shot than a fade. I''m sure others will agree that a toe shot hit with this club looses very little distance and remains on target. My only negitive is the sand wedge but most OEM sand wedges suck anyways. I have bladed one too many balls with this club so I went back to the Cleveland. I did get the two iron and have since pulled my five wood from my bag. At this point, I wouldn''t even think about using any other iron at any price. Customer Service No problems Similar Products Used: various |

I found some major differences from going from regular irons to cavity back irons. I had a problem of slicing alot of shots now with these clubs I have found that my shots are straighter than before. Another problem that I used to have was digging into the ground and hitting those aggravating 40yrd fairway shots. This problem has all but dissapeared. I have also noted in my overall use of these clubs is the distance that I am getting on the fairway. I used to hit a 8 iron when I got around 120 yrs out. Now I am hitting my pitching wedge and still putting it past at time. That is why I just purchased the Mid wedge. Overall I must say that these clubs have improved my game. If your looking for a good set of clubs but cant afford high price then these are the clubs to buy. |

None Just getting back into golf after a 25 year layoff. I was using a pretty low grade club & struggling. I''d read some good reviews on these & checked them out. Nothing short of amazing. Hitting longer & straighter. The best one word description would be ''confidence''. A real value especially with closeout sales running. Customer Service N/A Similar Products Used: None |

None I''ve been using these irons for about 3 months now, and have gone from shooting in the 90''s to the 80''s. I believe it''s because these irons are more forgiving than most. I''m hitting more greens now, especially with the long irons. I believe they were designed to have a higher trajectory than other long irons and I know they do for me. When I hit greens with the 4 and 5 irons, the ball sticks. The tradeoff is that lots of wind will take it''s toll on a high trajectory long iron and I can''t get much roll when I''m trying to get some extra distance teeing of in a tight fairway. I also wanted to note that these irons did not give me added distance like some of the other reviews claimed, I actually lost about 5 to 10 yards of distance per club, but the accuracy more than makes up for it. Overall, a very solid club. Similar Products Used: None |

None First, forget the name XL2000. Imagine the name of these Irons are the Ben Hogan Strata Hybrid Metal Irons. Now, If I told you that these irons have: True Temper Dynamic Gold Shafts and Hybrid Metal Cavity back with extreme perimeter weighting for maximum forgiveness and an enlarged sweet spot, would you be interested? Furthermore, what if you found out that two prestigous internet review sites: www.golfreview.com and www.rankmark.com ranked these irons as the most forgiving, accurate and easy to hit irons would you be interested? I would not have ever thought about these irons until I read the reviews and I discovered that my local golf stores had to drop the price by $200 dollars because no one was buying these irons. What a shame for Spalding! Calling these irons XL2000 is akin to Mercedes coming out with a car called the yugo. Spalding must have hired the General Motors executive who decided to call the joint venture corolla a "NOVA" Everyone, including myself would not have bought these irons because XL2000 balls = cheap; so XL2000 irons = cheap. Right? NO. NO. NO. These irons are terrific. I''m thankful that the marketing group messed up. These are the best quality, low priced irons I have ever purchased. Hopefully they''ll change the name like GM did when they changed the name from Chevy Nova to GEO Prism. Customer Service Excellent. Similar Products Used: Cleveland TA5 |

None I decided to replace my Callaway X-12''s and decided to do a little internet research as far as club reviews, club specs., etc. I figured I would end up with one of the usual suspects, Callaway, Taylor Made, Ping, et. al. I kept reading good things about the XL 2000''s. GolfClubReview.com says "these have not been a big sales success, from our testing experience...they should be". Rankmark.com currently list them as one of the "5 most accurate irons tested", out of approx. 40 sets of irons. Golfonline.com (Golf Magazine''s website) also lavishes praise. With that in mind, I was still skeptical, I am a high single-digit handicap, and they just looked too big in the stores. Reluctantly, I took a set out to the range, along with the X-14''s (regular & pro series), the Ping I-3, the TM 320, and Cleveland TA-5''s. I dispersed testing over 5 seperate sessions over a period of two weeks to reduce skewing of results. I recorded my testing results in terms of dispersion patterns as well as intangible categories like "feel" and "confidence". Initially, I was shocked at how well the XL 2000''s performed, at how nimble they feel as opposed to how they look. I deep down wanted one of the "premium" brands to win my contest. And let me say, all of the irons I tested are truly wonderful irons. But, in the end I had to come to terms with the fact that I simply felt an uncanny sense of confidence with the XL-2000''s; and with good reason, they were the clear winner in my testing sessions. I have been carrying them in my bag now for over two months and they are a joy to play with. Spalding engineers did an amazing job designing the XL''s, you forget how big they are once on the course due to their perfect balance. I have the standard version in steel and the lengths are more "traditional". They are typically 1/4" - 1/2" shorter than most irons made today. These are not "boomers" like my old x-12''s. They have better distance control, probably, to some extent, because of the slightly shorter shafts. Their only weakness, besides looking a little on the plain side (I could personally give a hoot about cosmetics), is a lack of ease-of-workability. I decided I would gladly give up a little finesse in return for the tremendous benefits of this club. Anyone can benefit from this club. You owe it to yourself to try a set. It is a side benefit they are so inexpensive. Customer Service not needed yet. Similar Products Used: X-14, I-3, TM 320, TA-5 |

None This past spring I found the set of irons that have given me great feel at set up which gives me confidence in my swing. I have been more consistant in hitting straighter shots than any other irons that I''ve tried. If you''re not concerned about hitting draws and fades-you can''t beat the xl2000 irons.
