Its like hitting a 3 iron as easily as hitting a 5 iron. The iron design allows you to hit long out of the rough. A good rescue club for those that hit hard at a steep angle, as opposed to sweeping the ball with a lofted wood. I use the 22 degree as my 3 and 4 iron replacement. I recommend the stiff graphite shaft for those with a slower swing speed.

This is a great hybrid for those that like the iron type. I played the 22 and this was the same distance as my 3-iron, but the ball flight was lower. Makes for a great driving iron and it hit good out of medium rough. I would not recomend it for anyone that dosen't strike the ball well. Got it off e-bay for under $40

I prefer the iron-type hybrids to the wood-like ones (I have the Taylor Made Rescue Mid but am inconsistent with it).

The 22* 503 with Aldila NV shaft is good for height and the the 19* with the TT Dynamic Gold is good to keep the ball lower (good driving iron on tight holes). I can hit the 22* about 185-190 and the 19* 190-200 (but on a lower trajectory).

Still a little expensive retail but can be found on ebay for a decent price.

I am a newcome to golf, having started in Dec05, and picked up this club to replace my long irons. I chose it as it looked better than the Taylormade Rescue mid (aesthetics help to boost confidence, mind you!) and was amazed at how it worked for me, eventhough I am not that great a player (yet!). Balls went much straighter and longer than my usual long irons!
I have a good iron swing, and probably that's why the iron-like design of the club works for me. I agree with one of the other reviewer in that if your swing is bad, no amount of forgiveness would help!

Even though I score so highly, my long game is good. I used to weild my 2 & 3 irons(Titleist 990) like weapons, but because I played only half as much last year my consistancy suffered. I gave the 19' a try and promptly purchased the 22' 3 weeks later. They are great off the tee, and money from the fairway. I am now even having success with knock-downs and punching out of trees.

I like them because they are iron-like.

These are for people who can hit the 5 & 6 iron well but struggle with longer irons. I don't think they are well suited for folks who can't play long irons at all. They should stick to fairway woods.

Workable and Versatile. Tee, fairway, rough, fringe...you can use this club from virtually anywhere. This is my go-to club when I have a tight fairway to deal with. I hit this club about 215-225 yards, and I get that distance without much effort at all. Out of the fairway it's fanstastic. It's great when you need to advance the ball out of the rough as well. You can hit a variety of shots with this club, many of which I've found to be very difficult with the wood-style hybrid clubs currently on the market. There are more forgiving hybrid clubs on the market for sure, but in terms of workability, I haven't played anything that matches this. If you are looking for forgiveness, you'd be better off with a Rescue Mid or a Heavenwood. I don't know why a Scratch golfer's focus would be on forgivess as opposed to control, but one of the other reviews of this club seems to think it lacks forgiveness. All I'd say to that is, if you swing the club properly, you get a fantastic result. If you swing poorly, you get the same result you get with any other club in the bag...a poor one. This would be the hybrid to buy if see your 200+ yard shots as chances to score, rather than distances to be conquered.

Terrible. This hybrid iron is the worst of the worst. It is less forgiving than my MP-33 2-iron I use everyday. I don't understand why. I love the way this club looks. I think it is the best looking hybrid iron on the market. However, looks can be deceiving. This club is a hard one to hit solid. I lost many shots left when I did hit it solid. Mine was eqipped with the NV Hybrid Stiff shaft. Buyer Beware! Use a blade two iron with a steel shaft before you buy this unforgiving club. I love my MP-33 2-iron. Its more forgiving than this thing.

I wasn't even looking to purchase this club, i actually wanted the tour edge tour iron wood, but i couldn't find that club anywhere. Well i ended up getting this club, had tried a lot of the wood type hybrids and i tended to hook them. No hooks with this club, straight as an arrow, and very easy to swing. I am still in shock that i like this club so much, i hate titleist, but it works and i will keep it. I actually think this is more forgiving than the rescue mid and much easier to hit than the sonartec md...
