A good replacement for a 3 iron, not a good replacement for a 7 wood. Good off the tee on tight long par threes or short tight par fours. A little tough to get high up in the air off the fairway unless the ball is sitting up well. This club was designed more for accuracy than for rescue out of the rough and performs accordingly. I have a 22* and like it very much. Can be had dirt cheap on Ebay for around $30.

Compares to and reminds me of an old Mizuno TZoid Fli Hi I had years ago.

Besically I like the look of the hybrid that are similar to my irons (some people prefer they looked like woods).
And the second factor is the feel when hitting the ball, Titleist 503H (22 degree) gives me a very solid & soft feel (like a forged iron).
The ball flight is just great in penetrating into the wind.
I have been playing an old Mizuno blade set for quite some time. And I have never think of pulling the 3-iron whenever my ball land in the rough (semi) area. This hybrid just did a great job every time my ball find the rough. I managed to draw the ball from the rough approx. 200 - 220 yards.
For those who can't hit this club, I would suggest you either hit this club like what you hit with the irons (indeed it is a long iron with "extra" cavity), or else, look for a lesson with the qualified pga pro.

I purchased the 503-H because I was looking for something to replace my 3 iron, which I wasn't overly confident with at the time. However, what I got was a club that was even harder to hit that my 3 iron, and inspired even less confidence. I couldn't believe how difficult this club was to hit. If I caught it even slightly on the toe, the ball would hook hard to the left, and if I caught it even slightly on the heel, it was a hard slice to the left. I felt a lot of vibration on off center hits as well. The club does do a nice job of keeping the ball low though.

If you're looking at purchasing this club, you must have complete confidence in this swing, as this club will punish you otherwise. I hope this review helps.

First time hitting the club with full swings after re-shaft/re-grip job. Excellent trajectory and distance. I found it much easier to hit than described on various web sites. Avery workable club, can play cut or draw without a whole lot of effort. Definitely harder to pure than the more fairway wood-like clubs, but I love the look of the club when standing over it. Good height and soft landings. Great club!

I was looking for a rescue club or hybrid, so I picked out the 503 with 19 degrees and a NV green stiff shaft . I find that i hit this club extra low for some reason with a slight draw at times, most likely since it has a draw bias and I haven't been able to get it out of rough very well however when using a tee on long par 3s or tight short par 4s it's good to very good, the feel is very much titleist and the look is really good as it looks just like a long iron but souped up. I use titleist irons and drivers but i think i am going to try another type of hybrid in the future with more versatility for getting out of high grass and also for getting the ball up in the air so it will land softly. If you play in an area where a low penetrating ball flight is what you need then look no further.

I bought this club as a sort of gap club between my 3 wood and 3 iron. Has the aldila nv65 stiff shaft which seems to kick the ball alittle higher then the steel. As of yet I have not been disappointed, I love the iron-like appearance of it, and the shape also lends itself to being able to control the trajectory. I have had trouble knocking down comprable fairway wood-type hybrids. Its long and penetrating flight is great, I hit it about 245 on average, so it serves my purpose well. The only thing I might gripe about is the offset, so I have the occasional tendency to hook it off the tee, but this is rare. Overall great club that can be played from anywhere, especially tight holes off the tee! Highly recommended for the mid to low handicapper.

I've tried the new hybrid technology and can't seem to hit them due to the look. But this plays and looks like an iron, and feels solid when hit. Travels straight and long for me. I would use this club in a troubled area, not a wood. Currently real good values on this iron looking hybrid, and manufactures are gonna no longer make this kind of an iron due to the popularity of the hybrid/faiway wood wave. Buy this club and keep it handy, or change your game to adapt to new techno.
