For a decent ball striker these play with a good deal of forgiveness. Don't shy away because they are Titleist. They're no nonsense golf tools that will last a long time and allow you to have a solid iron game. And now some really nice sets can be had for a pittance compared to new clubs. Don't be trapped into soft carbon steel forged because they have that "buttery" feel. They're also as soft as butter and you'll see them dinged up from errant strikes and bag chatter in just a few seasons. That may be OK for pros that are furnished with multiple sets over a year but not for the amateur spending his own money.

I bought a like-new set of 704-CB irons about six weeks ago. In that time I have gone from a 10 handicap to a six! I read a review before I bought them that is SO true; (oversize, forgiving irons do a great job of hiding your swing flaws and offer little feedback). If you want to stay at the same handicap; keep using oversized irons. The 704-cb irons give immediate feedback on every shot. They are incredibly accurate when struck properly. And, they are so much easier to pitch and chip around the greens than the oversize, thick top-line irons. If you can hit the nickel-sized sweet spot about 85% of the time...these irons will make your golfing life a dream come true!
You can go from being around the green most of the time to be on the green and actually going for the flag! These irons are surprisingly more forgiving on off-center hits than I thought they would be. They have the lightweight, Nappron NS Pro 970 steel shafts, which are remarkable shafts. Overall, I'd give the 704-CB irons two thumbs up!

Customer Service

I've only had limited experience with the customer service from Titleist but I know they back their products and take great pride in quality service.

wow! Buy these clubs!! I was hesitant to go to a forged iron. I usually shoot in the low 90s and break 90 on occasion so I was hesitant to hit anything other than my taylor made RAC HT(super forgiving)....Man I should have bought these clubs earlier...Its a dream to hit these...Mis hits may not go as far as my RACs, but I actually get feedback from the club so I know what I did wrong to correct my swing

Got these used on eBay and I couldn't be happier. I tried out the Pings and Mizunos and I just couldn't leave these alone. They have taken my game to another level with the forgiveness and ability to shape the ball as you please. I would call these more of a players iron than game improvement iron because I think that game improvement irons don't improve your swing, they cover up for your swing flaws. These require a good swing and then the club does the rest!!! They are very accurate and have a great trajectory. I love Titleist!!!

Since I decided I wanted to pursue the game of golf, I realized I needed to get a decent set of irons. Since I have had the Titleist 704CB irons, I have dropped to a scratch golfer. It is a solid cavity back iron that is extremely easy to hit, as well as shape anything you could ever want. I would rate this set of irons at a 10 out of 10.

I love the feel and accuracy of the 704cb. I did not notice any loss of distance with these irons. My set have the DG R300. I got a good deal, so I regripped with Lamkin black full cord blue cap. The forged cavity back design, reg flex for my swing and nice grips, all make for a nice feeling iron.

These are great irons that replaced my TM LT2's this past summer. For a forged club, even a cavity back, I find them very forgiving. Sure, any contact off the sweet spot will be noticable, but the loss of carry isn't any worse that the LT2's. However, the reason these are in my bag now is because of how accurate they are and how easy it is to work the ball. My 704's have the DG S-300 shafts and this combination works well. Ball flight is high, but not ballooning, and stops the ball dead on the green. I have noticed about a 1/2 to 1 full club loss in yardage when compared to my LT2's, but will gladly trade that for being able to control the ball so much better. Great clubs! The more I work with them on the range, the more comfortable I am shaping my shots, which is something I could never say using my TM irons.

i bought a set of these irons from my local proshop. after using them for about 4 weeks i could see a huge improvement in my long and short iron game.

it was obvious that i was getting far more spin than my old forged mizuno mp 32's. ever since i was about 18 i have been a scratch golfer and i have been using the muscle back design cloubs. but the 704 CB far outhit these clubs and supprisingly get just as much spin.

I purchased a set of tour issued 704.cb's of ebay for $309.99 wich I thought was a great deal.
I just have to day that these clubs are great.
I went from hitting maybee 4 or 5 greens in an 18 hole round to hitting 10 to 12
they're deadly accurate and I have never been closer to the pin with any other irons.
Before I got these I was a mid 90's player and when I went off, i would shoot in the 100's and just yesterday my "bad round" was an 89
The first round I played with these, On a 9 hole executive course was a 2 over par 29

I hit these a good 20 yards longer than my old callaway x-14's

These irons are insane. Im a 15 year old kid who has been playing golf since i was 5. I was shooting in the low 80's when i was playing the ping G5's. Then last year i went and got the 704's. Once i played one round i knew they were for me. i can shape shots so easily. they are very forgiving. Dont listen to the people taht say they arent. they say that because they suck and cant get the ball of the ground. These irons i would say are for a mid to advanced player looking to get to the next level. these irons sure helped me get there. Ive also always been a big fan of titleist. I play a 905T, 904 4 wood,585h hybrid and a newport putter and these irons are just another one of the great clubs they make.
