Titleist DCI 990-B Irons

Titleist DCI 990-B Irons

DESCRIPTION

From Titleist: "The new 990-B is similar to the original 990 in that the head is designed with upper and lower mass elements in cavity, or “weight pads” behind striking area. In the long irons, the lower cavity pad is thicker and the upper cavity pad is thinner to create a lower center of gravity (CG) and promote playability and higher ball flight. In the short irons, the lower cavity pad is thinner and upper cavity pad is thicker to produce a higher CG and lower, more controllable ball flight. The 990-B Cavity is slightly smaller than DCI 990 iron for added workability."

Accurate like blades but more forgiving. Gives great feedback, especially with the rifle shafts. The heads may feel heavy and hard to hit with at first, but once you adjust you'll love these clubs.

Great loking clubs that feel and set-up better than the 990's. Also, they are cast so they don't get as beat up as forged blades. These are keepers!

Customer Service

I requested D-3+ and they came through at D-3, so no complaints.

This DCI 990B are the real deal. More solid than original 990, for the same price, this irons are a steal.

They are also very easy to hit, and the bounce allows clean contact, and reduce turf drag, if you have a decent game, you dont have to be single digit. Dont be afraid of blades, they are way more accuate, you just have to try them out. Good luck

Well with all the hype about the DCI family I must say these clubs $uck. It lacks what GOOD GOLFERS need in their sticks which is FEEL, FEEDBACK & WORKABLITIY. I have played the 990's and the Oversize and they are worse, atleast these have a thin topline, less offset and not oversized look at address. But, comes short of what I need in my game. The cavity back DCI's are great if u are a high to mid handicapper because you need to just hut the ball and get it in the air no matter where u hit on the face. Although these aren't as forgiving but more forgiving than the forged blades I use. Get these if you need confidence in YOUR GAME.

I have been playing Titleist oversize for the past three years so I was nervous about switching to a smaller iron with less offset. These fears were put to rest after my first visit to the practice range. These clubs have a solid feel and are much easier to hit than I anticipated.

Customer Service

My only complaint with Titleist cust service is their slow reaction time. They have never messed an order up but they don't seem to be in any hurry.

This is a very solid set of clubs. More forgiving than you would probably think. They are not much different than the 990's, especially in the long irons. The short irons are slightly smaller, which looks a lot better than the 990 in my opinion. The B's also have a dull finish which looks great. These irons are easy to work and ball flight is more easily controlled. I was fitted for these by a local pro, he spent a good 45 minutes doing the fitting. I was never one to buy into the fitting game, but it makes a big difference and recommend you do this no matter what club you buy.
