Titleist 690CB
I can't begin to tell you how great these clubs are. I was trying to decide between these irons and the new Mizuno MP30. I hit them both indoors. The salesman was really trying to sell the MP30's but the 690CB's felt so much better to me. 690's also cost more so I don't know what his problem was. If you are a mid-handicap to scratch golfer, these clubs are for you. The feel is excellent. These clubs are very forgiving. They look great if that matters to you. I have been through a few sets recently trying to find the right feel and now I have found it. If you are in the market for a new set of forged irons you owe it to yourself to give these a try. Yes they are about 150 to 200 more than MP30's but they are worth every penny. By the way, I have to plug the shop I ordered these clubs from. Dimmock Hill has beat everyone elses price by a substantial amount every time I have purchased from them. On these particular clubs by $200 if that gives you a clue. No I don't work for them. Customer Service Dimmock Hill has always been great to deal with. Similar Products Used: Ping I-3 Blades, TaylorMade Burner Tour I |

Titleist 690 CB (2-PW)
In summary I'm delighted with the Titleist 690 CB's. I was previously playing with bubble-shafted Firesoles, and the Titleists are a complete departure from these. The first thing you notice is their gorgeous appearance. The chrome reminded me of a new car! The more I play with them, the more inviting they seem to look. True, they seemed heavy after the Firesoles and I found my swing needed to be a little slower. But there was no problem making solid contact with the ball, and that feeling is superb. Maybe it is just the transition to forged clubs but the soft feel is outstanding. I'm not a fan of cord grips, but these work well even when wet. As you'd expect, the ball flight is lower than with the Firesoles and distance is roughly 10 percent more which is exactly what I was hoping for when I bought them. My woods now stay in the bag simply because I love hitting the long irons. Customer Service No experience. |

This is absolutely one of the softest forgings i have ever played. Used as part of a 690MB/CB set. Easy to work, long and forgiving. Excellent! Similar Products Used: Nike Forged Blades, Taylormade Firesole Forged |

Titleist 690CB
Wow! I played my first round w/the 690CB's and shot 82 with a poor putting day (37 putts for 18). I hit 10 GIR's. I try 2-3 sets each year(us guys just love our tools) looking for that special wand that has balance , feel , accuracy, control & distance. I hit an 8 iron (38-40 deg loft) 150yds. Swing harder and at 51 yrs old something gives. In early March of this year I purchased the TM300 forged w/6.0 Flighted Rifle shafts and played them til the end of July. Great irons but they caused me to injure the back of my right hand. Why? After checking swing basics and giving time for my game to get in shape I looked to my club. (Of course it's not me!) Tm's 300 forged have a sharper leading edge and much less bounce angle (almost 45%)than do the Titleist. So I swapped the TM's for a used set of last yrs 981's. After I had 3 practice sessions plus 4 rnds with them I new the Titleist TriSpek Regular shats were too weak for I over drew the ball and and my distances per club grew to 10-15 yds per club. I went to Ringo's in Merrillville, IN and Wally gave me the cost to refit the 981's (2 thru GW)with the Flighted Rifle shafts. The cost of new vs re-tooling was close so I chose the 690CB's with DG-S300 at the expense of being in the dog house with the wife for a week or so. I had played the DG-S300 shaft in my Mizuno Pro's, previous 981's (Spring of 2001), 990's and knew this engine works for me. Titleist describes this a a players club but I think the're wrong! I almost went for the Titleist 762's but Dale Meyer of Cam Golf knows my preference and led me in the right direction as always! (Dale's very knowlegable and thorough via static and dynamic club fitting etc.) The 690CB's illustrate a players club and demonstrate the control, feel, playability and distance that I've been looking for. For a mid handicapper there is enough forgiveness too.(I hit a 6 iron on a 180 yr par 3 on the toe but and still hit the green 18 ft rt and pin high!) The 690CB thin sole has a rolled leading edge, mild camber, strong bounce angle with a modern lofted face. I would reccommend these to most mid handicapper's and below. Go and demo them off the grass, they are so sweet. So far the best irons I have hit!(a little harder steel than the Apex Plus) Note my purchase price includes trade in items! Customer Service Always pleasant and knowledgeable Similar Products Used: Old Wilson X31 & Staff, Mizuno Pro's, Hogan Apex Plus, 962, 981, 990, X14 Pro |

Titliest 690CB
Great club. Limited quantities available from Titliest and somewhat tough to find, but I couldn't be happier. After only a few rounds, I believe they will make me a better player. I use to play cast Taylor Made Over Size Burner Irons and I wanted more feel as my gave has improved, but I did not want true blades. I demo'd almost all of the forged cavity back or muscle backs out there. Hogan Apex Pros, TA 3s, Mizunos, Taylor Made 300s, and went with the Titliest CBs after going through a professiona hour and a half golf club fitting. Hit lots of balls with all of the above mentioned and custom ordered the 690s. Picked them up a month ago and have played about 6 rds with them. Great feel and I have picked up 10-15 yds per iron. Mis-hits do provide subtle feedback, but still fly at target. I am now a believer of custom club fitting for those serious about their golf. I am thrilled with my 690 CBs. Customer Service Called Titliest 4 or 5 times to get a good sampling of what they had to say abou these limited quantity clubs. They were very open and helpful. Fantastic set of clubs. Very forgiving and nice weighting to them. These clubs are one of the most beautiful set of irons too. These irons are not quite as soft as my Hogan Apex Edge Pro's but when struck well, it feels pretty close. I think I will sell my hogans and keep these because I can shape my shots alittle better and I prefer the weighting in the titleist also. Anyways, these irons are the best things I have done for my game and they will be in my bag for a long time. Customer Service I have never used them yet. Titleist 690CB
The Titleist 690CBs are the forged cavity back version of the previously released Titleist 690 muscle backs. They are beautifully crafted clubs that exude confidence at address and match that confidence with consistent results, enhanced distance, and remarkable forgiveness. Even slight mis-hits travel true to target with relatively small loss of distance. The weighting is such that you feel the clubhead throughout the swing (although for some golfers they may feel a bit heavy). Finally, although Titleist markets these clubs for "serious players" (as if there are any others!), I would suggest that anyone with a handicap of 15 or less give these beauties a try. You may be pleasantly surprised. Customer Service I've always been pleased with the service at Titleist. This is no different. Similar Products Used: Hogan Apex Pro; Titleist 990; Ping i3 Blade |
