These clubs are great!! I am at a loss to the other posts here. I have played about 20 rounds of Northwest winter golf (cold and wet) with them and noticed no signifigant loss of distance. They setup and feel extremely nice and are suprisingly forgiving. All in all I am very pleased with them and don't regret my purchase at all. They are the great clubs!

First off all these reviews about these clubs being short and terrible choice/copy of Mizuno's. Two questions what happened to honesty in reviews and what were they all smoking?

After having these irons since the PROTOTYPE was released, I can say without any reservation that they are not shorter, but rather longer and have a wonderful feel to them. My guess is those who complain about the distance are swinging a shaft that is too stiff for them. But of course they have to be macho and swing a stiff shaft rather then being fitted properly.

In fact I like these irons so much I have already made arrangements to get the new 300 model that is the final version of the forged head.

Since purchasing the 320 driver and theses irons, I have seen my handicap improve from a 15 to a 12.5 and thats without any time to work on my short game. I keep detailed stats on my game and the key is greens in regulation has improved by 3.5 greens per round.

By the way I have played stiff shafted irons for years, based purely on swing speed. But though my speed is there my swing is very smooth and fluid, something I have been working on for over a year. So I am playing the rifle 5.5 instead of the 6.5 stiff version. In the new irons I will play a 6.0 to improve accuracy just a little bit. The bottom line is make sure you shaft fits your swing, if it does you should be pleasently surprised with these irons.

not with this model but with other products in the past, they were responsive and went so far as to overnight a replacement driver when a shaft snapped two days before a 2 week golf vacation

I had played 3 rounds at end of season and liked these clubs. I read the reviews here and began to doubt myself. I had arranged a deal for a new set of x-14 pro series. Spent two hours hitting variety of clubs including the new x-14 pro series in simulator, keeping everything as close to identical as I could. The x-300's were better than all the rest. The feel was better, the trajectory was more consistent, and the average 5 iron (I hit every 5 iron 25 times) was 191 yards vrs closest pro series 14's which were 187. I can only think that reviews saying they were short did not take into account the lofts on many current clubs which are stamped 9 iron is closer to this sets 7 iron. I have nothing but positive things to say about these irons other than I wish they had even less offset

I read the reviews here and still went out and bought these. I must be an idiot because they exhibit all of the badness that you guys have been posting about. Now what can I do. It stinks to have to take the trade in value on something that is only a week old. Has TaylorMade recognized the problem here? Can I return them to TaylorMade? Maybe I can clean them up and return them like new. I just could not believe they were as bad as you guys said. Now that I've hit them I can say that they might actually be worse. They really do go nowhere. I think they have the distinction of being the shortest irons ever. Distance-wise. How could this happen. Don't they have an R&D department? I've made mistakes before but this one was costly.

A few days ago I wrote a review of these irons imploring others to quit talking bad about them, and to be patient and give them a chance. I am sorry about that. It just got warm here and now I have played these in normal temperatures and I must revise my previous review. There is indeed something fundamentally wrong with these irons. If you check the lofts they are only different from other modern irons by 1 or 2 degrees. They go nowhere. I would like my distance back now please. they swing good, and they look good, and they are not hard at all to hit. THEY GO NOWHERE. Thank God I did not trade my old irons in to get these, they are back in my bag and won't ever come out again. It is a 2 club difference, and I am not a long hitter. Hogan Apex 7 iron goes 155, Taylor made maxes out at 135 and it is this kind of disparity through the whole set. I am ashamed that I spent big $$ on the "hot new iron". Junk, Junk, Junk. I am gonna cut one in half cuz i am sure it is forged from the finest balsa- wood and bamboo, then dipped in some kind of aluminum coating. What can I do with these now. I feel like sending them back to the manufacturer and telling them to refund my money or it is Judge Judy for them. Don't buy these, they will confuse you and ultimately dissappoint you. Sorry for being such a jerk in previous review.Egg all over face, neck, chest, hands, and breasts.
