The first thing that comes to mind when describing these irons is "extremely forgiving". Mis-hits don''t beat your hands to death. Rifle shafts do a super job of dampening any vibrations from mis-hits. Mis-hits do not lose too much distance. They don''t have as much feedback as some other irons out there. But who cares you can easily play 36 holes with them and not feel like you''ve your hands and back have been punished. I would recommned them for a mid handicaper or anyone who plays more than 18 in one outing. They are somewhat workable, I can draw them very easily. All I have to say is that before you buy anything if you can find them around, hit them on the range and you won''t be dissapointed. I bought this clubs as a beginner, because I loved the look and they are made from a leading Brand. Now after 1 year I can tell you, that all my friends do not achieve with their strokes the Distance and the high of trajectory like I do with this clubs. When you hit the sweetspot hard with released wrists, they do miracles : really long and you know it just at the impact from the sound and the feel. Iron 7 : 160 yards. That is really enough for a high-handicaper. At adress they give you confidence. I`ll play this club for a long time, and I am sure to knock down a lot of strokes with them. Funny how one review can be a harsh 2 then the next great 5. I have been playing these irons for about 2 years now and i like them alot. Long, straight, and forgiving. The feel is not the greatest but they are after all not forged irons. It kills me how half the golphers out there cut down a club based on there playing and in fact they prob. didn''t even get fitted for them or are using the wrong shaft. Do yourself a favor. Try out every club in your price/feel range and what ever feels/hits the best to you! is the best club to buy! DON''T BUY INTO THE HYPE! The TM super steels are a great club for (any) player at any lvl. Best of all they feel great to me :) after all i''m the one who plays them and thats all that matters. Not what PRO is using them this week. And at a great price you can''t go wrong!!!!!!!!!!! Oh BTW did i mention they come with a great riffle shaft.. whats not to like> Customer Service none Similar Products Used: Callaway x-12''s x-14''s wilson pro staff TM 300''s, 320''s, 360''s |

After reading some of the harsher reviews of these irons, I feel compelled to add my own two cents worth to the long list of reviews. These irons rock! I got them in spring 2000 and after two full seasons with these irons in my bag, I feel qualified to comment on their performance. At first, if you''d asked me what kind of feel they provided, I would have told you that it was like wearing heavy mittens when you hit - almost no feel. Then I got the clubs out on the course and started hitting some of the softer spin balls. Lemme tell you, if you use rock hard distance balls and complain of no feel with your clubs, it''s the ball!!!!! Shots hit on the sweet spot with some of the softer spin balls on the market (Pro V1, etc...) feel like you''re hitting marshmallows - the purest feeling I''ve ever felt. Off center hits still fly straight with no real loss of distance, but you''ll surely feel the difference - more like hitting a rock. Don''t get me wrong, they''re not even close to equalling the feel of a forged iron, but they are about as good as it gets in a cast steel iron. The low center of gravity really helps launch the ball high and land it soft with minimal roll out of the long and middle irons and incredible spin in the short irons. Because of this, you can really go down after the ball and trap it, knowing the low center of gravity will put the ball high in the air, with lots of spin. These irons like to be hit hard too. The harder the better. Just as an example, the day I bought these clubs, I was clocked at 95-100 mph with a 6 iron in my hands, which translates into 205-210 yard 6 iron shots out on the course. If you want to buy some yards you''re shopping in the right place. As for accuracy and distance control, lets just say that if you make a nice swing, then nice things will happen. These irons don''t offer the workability of a forged blade, but all the same you can still work the ball quite well both ways. Distance control is quite good (provided your impact is also consistent) and if you know the yardages you actually hit as opposed to the yardages you "think" you actually hit you''ll be within a yard or two almost every time. A word of advice to the beginners and high handicappers - GET FITTED before you complain that a club doesn''t hit straight. Accuracy is ALL in the fitting. Customer Service Purchased in April 2000. I was playing some Tommy Armour knock-offs that were freq. matched for me, and I liked them a fair amount. I always wanted a softer feel with a graphite shafted club though... less shock. I tried quite a few different irons at the demo range near me. The Callaway x-14 pro, et. al. This club just nudged out the Callaway as being slightly easier to hit and not a corrected club like the regular x-14 steelhead. Taylor made is cheaper too. As far as the performance of this club, I cannot say enough about the wonderful feel and length. I used to hit an 8 iron on this 135 yd par three and now, I hit a pitching wedge. I really gained 15 yds. right out of the box. It''s a high ball flight for those that are low fliers and it''s really easy to get the ball up. The ball flight is very true and it just bores into the wind. I got them just before I went to play in Aruba where the wind blows 30 mph. all day, every day. They really do boost your confidence considerably. Now I just got to get off the tee a little better... Similar Products Used: Callaway Steelhead x-14, and x-14 pro and just about every new iron out there. The x-14 pro is nice, but no better than these for the money. |

None I started using these about 2 months ago. I have dropped 5-7 strokes consistently since then. I have no problem controlling the club, when I hit it well, like other reviews have said. The irons are very balanced and have a quality feel to them. I recommend them to anyone who wants to go from the lower 90''s to the mid 80''s like I did. None I really fell in love the first time I saw and held these clubs. I liked the simple classic look of the irons. Its very solid and well balanced. After a few rounds at the range and the course, I can say that these clubs are really meant to improve my game. long and solid shots. (a bit hign trajectory but thats alright with me...) Very very happy with these clubs and would recommend them to my friends. Too bad that I heard that TM will soon stop producing these very good clubs... None I played TaylorMade Super Steel irons with stiff bubble shafts for a little over a year. I liked them initially. They offer good distance. They''re easy to draw, but hard to fade when you want to. Three things finally turned me off to them. The primary one was the fact that from the 7-iron through the sand wedge, the grooves cut into the golf ball, particularly the new softer cover balls, such as the Pro V1. I destroyed golf balls while making good swings. Second, the clubheads felt dead, especially after I tried Mizuno forged clubs. Third, I found it very hard to control distances with the TaylorMades, probably due to the bubble shafts. On similar swings, trajectory and shot shape, a 7-iron might fly anywhere from 150 to 165 yards. Golf is hard enough without clubs that aren''t consistent. Customer Service Fry''s service is excellent. Friendly and knowledgeable. Good people. Similar Products Used: Mizuno Comp EZ |
