TaylorMade Rescue Irons

TaylorMade Rescue Irons

DESCRIPTION

Taylor Made says: Ideal weight distribution makes all the difference. And we achieve it by attaching a curved, high density tungsten sole plate to a lightweight titanium clubhead. The resulting ultra-low center of gravity puts a full 75% of the weight below the equator of the ball at impact.

This rescue club put me in so much trouble out on the course that i got rid of it. I couldnt hit the ball it lacked distance and i felt bad two. I switched to Callaway Steelhead Plus Woods and those rock they have distance and control. Callaway Rocks

Model Reviewed: Taylor Rescue S90 21 degree

Had originally bought the Tour Edge Iron Woods for about half the price, and let me tell you it ending up costing me more for being cheap. The tour edge was great at the range, but on the course it was a different story.

Immediately traded it in for the rescue, and I am not dissapointed. Have played about 12 rounds with it already and I have not hit one bad shot.

The head is not as large as some of the other iron woods. However, it's compact nature really makes the ball jump out of the club like nothing I can ever hope to achieve from my long irons. It is straight and with reasonable length. For me, the 21 degree is between a 2-3 iron (more like a good 3 since I don't hit my 2 that well).

I hit approx. 75% of my shots right where I want, the other 25% somewhere close, but not too bad. I have not hit one horrible shot yet. Only great or OK shots.

This club is a bit expensive, but compared to the prices of other clubs today, it is worth every cent.

I highly reccomend this club to anyone.

I wonder when Callaway will come out with their version of the iron wood. If anyone knows, please email me.

Great club, I have taken out my 5 wood and 3 iron to replace them with the 18* Rescue. My mis-hits still end up OK. Still getting to use the club. I have a tendency to get too quick with it, i.e. do I play it like a 5 wood or 3 iron that it replaced. I think I get better results if I try to sweep it verus hitting down on it.

I picked the club up used because my 7 wood began acting up on me. I've used it for two rounds and have been impressed. Very easy to hit from any lie, and very forgiving and straight. I have a lot of confidence using this club. Only drawback is distance. I can hit my 23* Raven Hawk 7 wood (w/similar length steel shaft) about 10 yards farther than the 21* Rescue. But I'll sacrifice the distance for the increased accuracy

When I took the 3 iron out of my bag, the rescue club filled the gap. It is long and has a range of 210 to 230..so it's also versatile. The s-90 bubble shaft had too much torque so I replaced it with an Innovative TD 410 shaft [2.5 torque] and my distance and accuracy improved. This has been of great benefit to my game and I would highly recommend this combination if you are thinking about taking the 2 or 3 iron out of your bag.

This gives me the accuracy and distance I never could achieve from a 3-Iron. Nice ball flight with good roll, especially when only giving it a 3/4 swing. Same 200-210 yard distance of my 7-Wood with a lower ball flight. Warning!!! If I try to "get all of it" I suffer from hooks. The Rifle Steel shaft is short enough for easy punch shots and "bump and runs". Hittable from any lie. Unlike the original Adams Tight Lie, the face has enough height to impart confidence even when sitting up in a fluffy lie.

This is one club that has lived up to the buzz in my opinion. I have a club that has the loft of a 2-iron with the accuracy of a 5-iron and the forgiveness of a 5-wood. What's not to like? This club is a gem.

Customer Service

I have broken the shaft of a Ti-B1 and they fixed it with little hassle.

This club is the best shot maker around. It does tend to have a natural hook but a quick and easy fix is to open the club face more than usual at address. An easy swing can get you as far as a full 3-iron swing and a full swing can go 200-230 easy and I am not a big guy.

Customer Service

None yet, but it is supposed to be excellent.

I wanted to like this club but could not. I did find the club easy to get in the air but diffcult to control. I normally hit a straight to slight fade. With the TM Rescue club I found myself fighting a severe hook.
I have since traded this and my Ping i3 fairway woods for the Cleveland QuadPro Launch iron and 3 wood.
I agree, try before you buy!
