Fairway 911 - 18* graph
WOW! I picked this club up because I found the idea of the TaylorMade "Rescue" intriguing and the cost was very reasonable. The basic difference with these and the TM's is the base of the club sports "rails" instead of the "reverse rails" or notches the Rescue has. Mine came with a 3.5 tourque graphite shaft, and for under $40cdn! For a guy that couldn't hit a traditional fairway wood to save my life, this club has been the best thing I've put in my bag EVER. I've hit it out of rough, on the fairway, off the tee, all with good results. I get ~230yds on the sweet spot, 180+ out of really bad lies or misshits, and it works as a pretty good little chipper for long runners from the apron. Dollar for dollar the best club I've ever swung, PERIOD. Not sure where they're manufactured ("FAIRWAY" brand?), but they are all over the place in the big sporting goods stores around here. I love this club. This has become my "second shot" champion. I have hit many greens in regulation with this club that I had trouble with before. Has easily helped me drop several strokes off my game. I hardly ever hit my 5 wood. The low profile of the Rescue club makes it easy to hit it the deeper stuff and the shorter shaft makes it easier to hit. Similar Products Used: Baffler |

I demoed this club and liked how easy it was to hit compared to my 3-iron. On a lark, I was about 200 yards in the rough and, with an easy swing, landed the ball on the green. Since I bought it, I have hit greens from distances I never have before. I love this club. Now I don't want carry any woods except a driver. One can find them on sale this time of year. Customer Service I just recently bought the 15 degree for only $150 on sale. I broke the shaft but Taylormade fixed it without hassle. I appreciate good customer service. I only carry 2 true woods (driver, 3 wood). I must be getting old, because I don't hit my long irons like I used to do. However, after getting used to a tendency to hook (18 only), these 3 clubs have been valuable. I no longer carry my long irons, I am more comfortable hitting this club in circumstances than I was the long irons, and am very comfortable hitting it off the tee. I do find it strange they do not register serial numbers. They are a bit pricey, but I use nothing but Taylor Mades - except the putter. Customer Service I had my Ti Bubble 2 driver reshafted and got it back very quickly. I currently have a LCG 5 iron at the factory because the shaft broke up in the grip. Taylor Made responded very well to my E-Mail and gave me a name/number for the local retailer to use to follow-up. Pretty good, I think... Similar Products Used: Tested a variety |

I've been considering this club for some time. I went to the store and hit the 18 degree today. I hit it solidly from the mat about 180 in the air. Interestingly, I seemed to draw or even pull this club a bit more than I would like. I did not know it had a draw bias. This may disuade me from buying it. I wish another manufacturer (Callaway) made something similar. Similar Products Used: None |

Despite all the hype, this club just did not do it for me. The offset and the closed face imparted a severe hook that I just could not correct for--Nor should I have to! I normally hit balls straight or pushed slightly right but was hooking the ball with the Rescue. I'm told the problem is not pronounced with the higher lofts. In any case, even with a weak grip, I could not tame the hook. Moreover, the feel at impact was not solid --even less that that of an iron by far less than the solidity of a wood. I've put my three iron away, and started using a 21 degree TM rescue club. "Rescue" is a great way to describe this club. Not only is it great off the tee or from the fairway, but I find it useful from: Similar Products Used: Tight Lies, Cleveland QuadPro |

I was looking to buy a 2 iron. Needed something for the 215-230 yard range. The store salesman showed me the Rescue and I was concerned it was an "old man's" club. You know, for the guy with 7 woods in his bag! Similar Products Used: None |
