Taylor Made RAC OS2
I've been golfing regularly for about 5 years now, hitting the course at least once a week. I started out with a Hippo brand iron set with graphite shaft and decided to upgrade after my swing are more consistent now. After trying out a friend Taylor Made iron sets with graphite shaft and liking the feel of the clubs I decided to go with the OS 2 with steel shaft. I chose the steel shaft because I wanted more control than distance since I already have a big swing and distance was not a big concern to me. I develop this big swing because when I started out golfing I did not like the feel of my previous iron so I would always practice driving a lot more than my irons when I'm at the range (I am all power with no finesse). So when I'm out on the course I would tee off straight down the fairway about 230+ yards (Tommy Arrnour 845 driver) and then 3 iron for about 190 yard on a good hit with the occasional hooks and slices. Then I struggle with the short game, no problem getting there only problem with the finish. The OS 2 has done wonder for my game. I love the feel and my confidence level is a lot higher now hitting the irons. I love the long iron which I can hit about 220 yards with the 3 iron straight consistently. I amazed myself the first time out with these clubs, the trajectory is higher and distance is longer in comparison to my old clubs. I went through about 5 rounds of golf so far this season and I can get over how good the feel is every time I hit the ball. I am hitting more consistently now with my irons, no more slice and a little draw on the shorter irons (surprisingly I am not sacrificing distance at all with the steel shaft but actually getting about 30 yards more with these irons). I will now invest on some good wedges and putter to improve my short game and hopefully my next review will be on those clubs and I will be hitting in the 80's. Got the OS 2 at Dick's Sporting Good for $400 3 weeks ago but they are cheaper online. Highly recommend the OS 2. Customer Service Never used Similar Products Used: Hippo |

Very nice clubs. shots are crisp and fly high with a good swing. The irons simply go farther than other irons period. they are stronger by a few degrees than standard to compensate for the ridiculously high flight that the altered weighting produces in the OS2. you can find them for under $350 brand new now and they are worth more than that to your game. but lets face it, if your really good, you're not reading this. Customer Service I'm sure they are nice people Similar Products Used: Ping Eye2, Callaway Big Berthas, x-12, x-14, x-16, cleveland TA7 |

I BOUGHT THESE CLUBS A FEW WEEKS AGO AND REALLY LOVE THEM. THEY ARE THE SMOOTHEST CLUBES I HAVE EVER HIT AND ARE VERY FORGIVING. I OWNED SOME BLADE STYLE CLUBS AND HAD TO HIT IT PERFECT TO GET A GOOD SHOT. WITH THESE, I JUST HADE TO HIT THE BALL AND IT CONSISTENTLY GOES VERY FAR WITH A LITTLE DRAW (PERFECT). I USUALLY HIT A SLICE BUT WITH THESE CLUBS,(AND A FAIRLY GOOD SWING), I ALWAYS HIT A GOOD SHOT. I REALLY RECOMMEND THESE CLUBS Customer Service I BOUGHT THESE AFTER USING A FRIENDS SET AND LOVED THEM SO I BOUGHT MY OWN FOR MY BIRTHDAY. Had RAC OS's and HT's before that. I like the technology and the company a lot. I had a bunch of old irons sets lying around a couple of odd woods so I brought them into my local Golfsmith for a traded them for a custom fit set of OS2's (steel shaft regular flex, 2 flat 4-A wedge). First thing you will notice about them they are long and want to help you draw the ball (slight left bias). The hit the ball so nicely I have trouble keeping my head on down. When I am mindful enough of my game to pure the ball, they are right on. I am not a terribly long iron shooter, but the 4 iron will fly 190. I would say that my only regret is that they seem thicker and heavier than the original RAC OS's that I played up until these arrived. They are cast heads and so there is some feed back. Good shots feel good, crappy shots feel crappy (no surprises there). Overall for the couple of bucks I threw at the trade in it was well worth it. Incidentally, I hit about six different sets before I made my decision. The list of runner ups' included the Callaway Big Bertha's, nice but heavy as hell in steel. The Cobra 3100's felt great until I picked up the TaylorMade, a Mizuno (forgot the #), Ping G5, and the Cleavland CG4 (I think). I had done this back in August 2006, and so the new Cobra's weren't out yet, but they look pretty nice too. My first trip with them were to Ocean City, Maryland for a He Man She Woman Haters week with the guys. The wife plays the part of the Golf Widow really well. I played several great rounds down there. Most memorable was Eagles Landing, Newport Bay and Baywood Greens (Delaware on the way home). Overall, the OS2's are forgiving and easy to hit. If I played more, I'd try to get into more of a players club (forged). I don't and my goal is to keep these for five years before I think about updating again. Customer Service Cannot beat Taylor's service. They are a customer focused company. Similar Products Used: TaylorMade RAC HT (owned, great club)

So I bought myself these irons as a Christmas gift to me. I just started playing about year ago so it was the first major golf purchase I've ever made. It took about 4 rounds to get used to and I must say that these irons are incredible. I have a high ball launch and never power my shots so my long irons get a lot of work in during my rounds, miss hits are never "way off" and shots on the sweet spot are exactly that, sweet. Since buying these irons I've shaved 7-9 strokes and now hit consistently in the 90's, thank you TaylorMade. |

Early this past summer I purchased a set of Big Berthas. Great improvment over the Zing II's I played with for 15 yrs. However, very little feel & not workable under many situations. Purchased set of OS 2's from Austards for $399.99 on salde (4 thru pw plus aw !!!). Absolutely the best purchase I have ever made. Balls just fly toward the pin. Thank you Taylor Made !!! What can I say...an absolute dream to hit, from the long irons right on through to the short irons. Added about 10 - 15 yards from my cobra ssi's and gained a little better control. |

I have always been a midsize or blade style iron fan in the past. Early this summer I was playing pretty well and decided I would look into the ping blade model, S59's. I played with them most of the summer and when my game was on, these irons were awesome! On the other hand, when I had my 'B' game, they weren't so awesome. Just for the fun of it, I decided to start looking for a back up set of (hit it anywhere on the face and still play well) irons. I looked at every oversized model out there. Being a better player, I have to say that most oversized irons are very hard to look down at from address, but after almost giving up on this crazy idea, I finally stumbled accross the OS 2's and wow! They have a nice plain look without the loud colors and plastic inserts of those other companies and a lot thinner sole width, than most other extremely forgiving irons as well. Quite a bit of offset, but I could look past that if I didn't hook them really bad. The only thing I was woried about, being a high ball hitter already, was hitting the ball too high with the OS 2's. I decided to put Dynamic Gold X100's in them to keep the ball flight down. I think it is funny that just by messing around with a set of irons that I never would have looked at before are now my favorite set of irons ever. I have only played 3 rounds with them and I have shot 73,71,72. No waiting time on getting used to these babies, they are ready to run straight out of the gate. These might not get much attention from the good players, but I have seen too many single digit hadicappers shank 1 or 2 per round with their (I have to play true forged blades to be cool) sets of irons. (Just my observation and opinion) The low hadicappers might want to give these a try and hurry up because these are being discontinued for the new R7 line of irons. Little too much color on these for me... Customer Service Haven't had to use yet. Similar Products Used: Ping I3 blade, Ping I3+ blade, Ping S59 |
