I can't be more happy for the confidence RAC CGB has brought me. I was shooting 90s with TM Burner LCG and thought I need a forged blade to improve my 100 yard game. So I switched to Nike forged pro combo, which is 5-10 yard short compare to Burner LCG. I was wrong!!! With my level of skill to hit forged blade, my 150+ yard game significantly hurt my score and confidence. So I was on the market for a new set of iron. I found this set at golfsmith for $699 closeout. After serious comparison with callaway X-16 and RAC HT(both are on sale at golfsmith now), I found RAC CGB gives me best launch angle plus longer distance(10-15 yard). CGB is extremely forgiving, feels very soft(maybe too soft and lack of feedback for higher skill level player), key point is ball goes loooong....even on mis-hit. With my slow swing speed(90 mph), the stock graphite regular shaft gives me rocket high launch angel which made drop and stop on green easier even with lower spin rate compare to forged blade irons.
Customer Service No need so far Similar Products Used: Taylor made Burner LCG(Great club but not as forgiving as CGB), Nike Pro Comb(I think I am not as skillfull to play this set now), Callaway X-16(same level of forgiveness but lower launch angle, little bit short in distance for me), touredge JMAX(customed to shorter shaft which hurt my distance), Henry-Griffifth(custom fitting but not that impressive compare to CGB) |

I just got these bad boys last weekend and have played several times. I love these clubs. They are 1 club length different than my old pings. The miss hits are terrific. While they cost close to 1K, they are worth the money. Similar Products Used: Ping, X18, Cobra |

I have used my new set of Taylor Made CGB irons only twice and already I can say with full confidence that they are by far the best clubs I have ever used. Ultra forgiving with a high ball flight and longer than any other irons I have tried.

I agree with most of the points already posted on these clubs. For the original price of $1099 (steel) they were a little steep. Now with the close-out prices available at PGA Superstore, Edwin Watts, and Golfsmith of $598 they are in my opinion the best deal in clubs right now. The heads are a little over sized, but the styling somehow masks it. They are very nicely designed with a little bit of high tech look to them. Playing them is awesome. I have tried more clubs than probably 90% of other golfers out there, and there are a lot of good sets available - it all boils down to what you are looking for on a personal level. For me, these are the best I have ever hit, and what I mean by that is, I think they are very solid feeling with very little vibration, extremely forgiving (I think they are the most forgiving of any irons I have ever hit), and long with a nice trajectory. So for me - that works. Another nice note is that after 6 or 7 rounds, they still look like new - even the soles are not marked - unlike some sets I have had that looked noticibly used after just a round or two. Maybe the head material is harder than some others?? If so then the clubs don't "feel" hard - they feel very nice at impact. I will agree that the grips are not good for any dampness - I'll be replacing with Winn grips soon. Customer Service None with T-M but PGA Superstore in Roswell GA is terrific. Taylor Made rac CGB
Long story short, if you buy them; your game will improve. Having taken up golf at the age of 37 and determined to become a 0-10 handicapper in the shortest time ever, it has been a rocky road. After the first yr. I bought new Yonex V-Mass 250 irons. The 4 iron kept breaking but I loved those irons. I traded for Taylor Made 360s with steel shafts and since that day I've looked for a club to replicate the feel of those Yonex clubs. Cleveland TA-5, Callaway VFT, MacGreggor M565s, Mizuno MX-23s, Wilson Deep Red Fat Shafts in steel and graphite and now the Taylor Made rac CGB with stiff graphite shafts. They should not be compared to those Yonex clubs nor any of the others. They are awesome! Draws are automatic, ball flight is stratosphere high and very accurate. I have shot my lowest round with these after just 4 rounds and my confidence is climbing. Orginal retail was $1,250.00 but you can get them at Golf Smith for $699.00. There you can buy them, try them for 90 days and if not pleased, return them for another set. I'm very happy to say the least. They will be in my bag for a while! Customer Service No dealings with Taylor Made to date and Golf Smith has been super to deal with. The CGB is probably the softest iron I have ever hit. Extra length, high ball flite, very little shaft vibration. Even my teaching pro was extremely impressed. Others have complained about the grips, I will not as grips are kind of a personal thing, and I think the manufacturer under stands that. Grips should be changed often anyway. I am on my 3rd set of Winn grips on my Pings, Customer Service Right now, if any left, great price at Golfsmith---699.99 Similar Products Used: Ping Eye 2 |

I have played four rounds with my new rac cgb irons. I have the steel, stiff shaft models. I wanted to acheive a higher ball flight and gain clu head feel. These have accomplished my goals and then some! I HIGHLY recommend these to anyone looking for a higher ball flight and more feel in a game inprovement iron. The negative is the price (spendy) and the factory grips (pretty lame for the price). Step up and spend the extra money, you won't be disappointed! These are the real deal! This is the best club I've ever used in my life. I love the feel of the weight. I pull anything from 150 yds in, but its my fault not the clubs. However 150 yds out straight as an arrow. I picked up 20 yds a club, it took awhile to hone in on the yardage, but I'm learning. So if you are looking at a club to last you a long time. THIS ONE IS IT... Customer Service I did break the 6 Iron the second time I used it. It broke at the hossel. I called the customer service, I was expecting to get an answering machine and wait on the line forever, but to my suprise they answered on the first ring. WOW no wait. There GREAT....oh yeah the clubs have a 5 yr warranty and they Similar Products Used: Callaway Big Bertha, X-16 Pro Series |

RAC CGB Ascending Mas Steel Shafts
Ok - I'll start by saying that these clubs are gorgeous to look at - They sit nicely at address and they are the most forgiving clubs I have ever hit - The ball flight is extremely high especially when you consider the Very strong lofts (the PW is 44 deg) This must be due to the very low centre of gravity as Taylor Made advertise - The balls leaps off the club face and even miss-hits go for miles – The club Balance is superb they are the lightest overall irons I have played with (due to the shafts) yet they feel great. So what are the problems – The grips are cr@p they slip terribly in the wet or heat from perspiration ($1,100 irons with slick grips ??) - The PW goes 140+ yards !! ( maybe because it’s a 9 iron in disguise ) but that leaves a huge gap to your sand wedge distance and a gap wedge doesn’t cover it either (unless they are all TM RAC's) - The face of the irons are explosive it’s the same feel as you get off a fairway wood – ting and it’s gone – imagine playing with a 17, 19, 21 wood etc !!! - The solid feel of a traditional iron is lacking but yet they chip great around the greens. Having said all the above the biggest problem I have had is Pull City !! – nearly every shot I hit with these are pulls - They go for miles but straight left into bogey country (if you can find the ball) - Maybe they just don’t suit me as I haven’t played with irons as offset at these before. If you are struggling with forgiveness, length off the tee or getting the ball in the air these are definitely the clubs for you. All I will say is PLEASE give them a lengthy trial before buying - because at $1100 they aint cheap and they wont suit all golfers.
