Fantastic set of iron, surprisingly forgiving and very accurate. They're about half a club logner than any set I've played in the past, I'm sure it would be longer if I hit them properly. Great price on EBay but be careful who yoy're buying from.

I noticed most of the reviews are from low to mid handicappers (hence the 'TP' label). Conversely, I am a 90+ weekend hacker who has been playing golf twice a month for about a year now. My first set of irons were TM RAC LT2s that I bought off a friend - very decent clubs that I went thru my growing pains with, but got pretty used to after a while. I just picked up the r7 TPs from the same friend, after much worrying over whether or not I could hit 'players' irons. WOW, what a difference! Perhaps the LT2s were not exactly ideal beginner's irons, but I am not finding that the r7 TPs are any more difficult to hit. Not only are these clubs almost a full club longer for me, but they feel sooo much better. Mis-hits, while obviously noticeable, are not nearly as penalizing. Being fairly new to golf, I'm still getting used to the myriad of terms out there - after hitting these clubs, I think I now understand what people mean by 'buttery'. Again, my experience is somewhat limited, but I'm not sure that 'game improvement' irons are the way to go once you get over the initial 'I hate this game' beginner hump. With these clubs, I'm already starting to hone in on what I'm doing right vs. wrong and my scores are definitely starting to show it. Simply put, I LOVE THESE CLUBS!

Before i bought the r7 irons i was playing with Adams Golf Idea clubs, which at the time were easier for me to hit. After playing with them for two years i decided it was time to get a new set of irons, i was looking for a set of irons that were for more advanced players but yet playable.

While at work i started to hit a demo r7 tp 6 iron in the range, which i hit very well and consistant. So i decided to look online and compare prices and when i found the right price, i bought the r7 tp irons with the projext x 5.5 shafts.

The very first time i used them on the course that i work at, i shot a 79, with an eagle 2 on the 7th hole, my personal best.

I love these irons and i am glad that i bought them. I would recommend them to anyone that is about a 10 to 15 handicap.

Customer Service

Bought them off the internet and the customer service was great. I got them shipped to my house very fast, and great low price.

Very Nice looking iron and its also forgiving and workable. Its not as soft as Mizuno forged when struck well, however you can tell whether you have a good contact or not. Well worth the money spend. It improve my iron shot drastically. Now I am hitting late 80s to earlier 90s and I am sure I will improve more. Try this and you will not regret.

Have been looking for a solid set of irons for several years with feel and forgiveness. Have tried Ping I5's, Callaway X-tour and Callaway X-20 tours. These irons are hands down the best iron I have ever had. They take off from the face very high, much like a driver, and land softly. I got the Project X flighted shafts and the whole package is truly awesome. Misses with these clubs go much better than the Callaways. The look at address is much better as well. Great golf club, I would recommend them to anyone who can break 90!!

Customer Service

Great, received them in less than 1 week.

Excellent combination and balance of workability and forgiveness. Switched from Mizuno MP=60's which are great irons but with the R7 TP's, a strike a bit towards the toe doesn't cost you 20 to 30 yards and you can still draw and fade these clubs with ease. Not quite the same buttery feel on a pured shot as the Mizuno's but even the pros don't hit that many of those in a round.
These are cavity backs for better players. I'd say anyone shooting around the single digits or low double digits will find these easy enough to hit. Kind of cavity backs for the better player. If you look around quite a few of the PGA players are using these. Yea I know Taylor Made spends heavy on the tour but even still they wouldn't be so heavily in play if they weren't an iron that will get you results.

After working pretty hard at my game, I decided that it was time to make a change from my Mizuno MX 17 Game Improvement Irons to something that had a thinner topline and less offset.... every time I looked down all I could see was hook.

There's a decent Pro Shop at the range I frequent, so I started grabbing several "player" type clubs to test when I went to hit. I tested the Mizuno MP 57, Cleveland CG Red, Callaway X-Forged, and Ping i10 irons.

After warming up, I would start hitting the different irons. What I found was that I could hit most of them well most of the time, but every time I grabbed the R7 TP, I would hit several balls with identical flight and distance.... and it felt great as well.

I've played with the set for around 2 months and have to say that they are everything I expected. They look great, and are both forgiving and workable. If you are a 10 to 15 handicapper, and looking for a set of irons to take you to the next level, this is the set you want.

Customer Service

I've always had good experience with Taylormade service and support.

I wasn't looking for new irons, but ended up purchasing these 6 months ago from a friend who for some reason just didn't hit them well. He had purchased them (3-AW)on eBay for a bargain price of $525 and they have been awesome. They fit my specs perfectly: 2 deg up, 1/2 inch over with not very common Dynamic Gold SL shafts.

The shafts are soft-stepped one club (all the R7 TP's I've checked in various stores appear to be soft-stepped. This gives my irons a nice soft feel and launches the ball nice and high on a perfect trajectory, even with my long irons. Mis-hits are not harsh, yet you can tell a perfect hit from an off center hit. My mis-hits are generally towards the toe, but I lose very little distance compared to my previous sets of Titleist 804.OS and Ping i3 O-size irons. I'm a little over 1 club longer with these irons than my previous irons. I've never hit a set of irons better. The lighter shafts seem to allow me to swing smoother and with a better tempo.

Didn't like the look at first (I lean towards the classic look of a Mizuno), but I now think they look great. The performance is so overwhelmingly good that I really would not care how they look. If you're looking for irons, I highly recommend you put these on your list to try. I believe they will perform well for mid-handicappers as well as low.
