At first I really liked these clubs. After a while, however, my draw has turned into a hook. Had them checked by a clubmaker, and found them way out of spec. Having them adjusted helped some, but I still am disappointed. I think the problem is the Rifle shaft, it has such a different feel than the DGs. For better players, they supposedly have less off-set, but like I said, I'm hooking them. Try before you buy. Similar Products Used: 962s, King Cobra IIs, and 845s. |

I have found these clubs to be rather good. They have a good look which inspires confidence and aids in the setup of each shot. Though these are no miracle workers, they do reward a well-hit shot. On the other hand if you do not hit solidly they provide no help at all. The bottom line is if you can hit on center definitely go for these because your shots will no doubt improve, but if you cannot, look for something a little more forgiving. I bought a set of these last summer, 3-pw. At first, I loved the clubs; they were easy to hit, felt nice, and I immediately gained considerable distance with the long- to mid-irons. After several rounds, however, I discovered difficulty getting the short irons and wedge on the green; they came out too hot. In addition, the clubs are too light. I couldn't really feel where the club was during the swing. I thought that this was because I was used to steel shafts, but after much practice, I still can't feel the club. Finally, the clubs do not provide much useful feedback, center hits feel a lot like off center. Compared with the set of hand me down clubs I used while I was learning, these are a huge step up. But they are not the best set for a player who relies on feel as much as I do. |
