I have been using my old set for 2 years and recently I lost my 6-iron. So I decided to get a new set to hopefully improve my game. I was thinking of the X-14 or the Ping I-3 and I asked my trustworthy salesman which one is better. He said that both are good clubs which are easily to hit. But he knows that I want something more, aka "feel". So he suggested the Taylor Made Firesole to me. It was really love at first sight and I can see the beauty of the material used in the club. The shaft is wonderfully constructed.

I went to the driving range immediately. Hitting the club is amazing and I gained 15-20 yards for each club. The balance is great and it's really easily to hit 3 or 4 irons. I was using a Warbird 7-wood before and I am no longer using it anymore since I can have much better control with my new irons. Even the pitcher is great and my shots are more accurate than ever.

Very good clubs. Being a beginner, this set of clubs has helped to improve my game from "atrocious" to "reasonable". Find the game more enjoyable since using these clubs.

Customer Service

Have some problem with the grips. Local dealers are not helpful at all. Tried E-mail Taylor Made for help/suggestions. No reply from them since. Conclusion : Good engineering/design department, lousy support!!

Having used Hogan Edge GS Irons for the last 6 years, I was eager to take advantage of the technology advances made in the interim. I tried out about 7 or 8 sets of irons(the local discount store only gave me the 5 irons to hit), and I was very impressed with the Firesoles. I loved the ease of swinging and the consistent ball flight, but that was hitting into a computer screen! I knew that the course might be a different story, so I eagerly awaited my first round. Boy, was I unprepared for these clubs! I took them out to the course 2 weeks ago. On the first hole I had 137 yards to the green with no wind, my usual 9 iron distance. I struck a clean shot with a nice little divot--nothing spectacular. The ball flew the green. I measured it at 157 yards. For the rest of the round I furiously made adjustments in my distances. I managed to hit 11 greens in regulation, about 4 more than average for me. But I was most impressed by the extra 15 or more yards per club. I hit my pitching wedge from 145 several times and had 20 foot or less putts. Par 4s all of a sudden became pitch and putt holes. The long irons, my big weakness, were effortless to hit long and straight, so that by the second 9, I found myself hitting 3 irons off the tee on tight holes, something I never do, and watching the ball fly @215-225 yards. Since that round I've played 3 times, and the distance and accuracy are just amazing. I expect to lop off 3 or 4 strokes from my 10 handicap at least. Buy these clubs !

I've moved up from Titleist to Taylor Made and very glad to have done so.The Firesole irons are the finest irons on the market. The 3-6 irons are very forgiving and solid, the 7-pw are soft and very workable to help get it close to the pin. With some work from 150yds. on in, these babies are gonna lower my hdcp. several strokes this year.

I purchased these clubs in April and they are great. I'm getting 10-20 yards farther than with my Harvey Pennick. I went from a graphite shaft to the R-80 Steel Rifle Shaft. I love them. I think that the extra yardage is because the club heads are heavier. The bag is heavier to carry, which I don't like. Also, for some reason, I don't like the feel of the 3 and 4 iron. When I hit it it's like concrete. All in all, a great club. I waited two years to get them (price reasons).

Customer Service

Edwin Watts was very accomodating on their return policy. I first ordered the S-90, but they were too stiff. They replaced them with the R-80's no questions asked.

These are definetly the best irons I have ever hit! The high trajectory mixed with the length and straightness are a great combination. I hit them at the driving range along with other sets, but I kept coming back to these.
This set is for any handicap and any skill.

This is my second set. My first set was the 100 dollar 5 club set to see if you like the game. This is a wonderful set of clubs, but you have to have a good swing. Irons aren't going to do anything if you don't have the swing to completment the clubs. But overall, the forgivness and sweet spot on the clubs is ideal. The tungsten inserts allow for greater height on the ball and gives just enough when you want to bump and run the ball onto the green. Long irons work perfectly, and the 8-pw are as accurate as you will find in the game.

These clubs are awesome. I got them in a stiff rifle shaft an these are long and extremely accurate. The tungsten weights get the ball up in the air nicely. The 3-6 irons are long an the titanium faceplates on the 3 an 4 irons make them even longer. The feel is very rewarding when hit in the sweetspot. They are also very appealing to the eyes. The 7-PW is very accurate and will bite on the greens. Although with everything there are some drawbacks. If you tee up a ball to high and get under it with one of the clubs it will tell you by a sudden pain of vibration that will run up the shaft. And boy does it hurt! And also the face on it scratches up very easily just by the ball. But besides that it is very clubs.

Customer Service

TaylorMade customer service is awesome. I lost a headcover for a nubbins putter and i told them an they gave me one free of charge but the best thing is they accedently sent me two headcovers! Well you dont see me complaining.
