I got these clubs years ago when edwin watts had them for 199. Had them re shafted with 6.5 rifles. The best feeling clubs I have ever hit. I got as low as an 8 with them. I stopped playing for a couple years and when I started back up I played my old callaway x14 pros. Didn't take me long to reach for the old rams. So soft long and strait. Not to mention I can hit the ball LOW. Which is why I purchased them in the first place. I would recomend to anyone! Even if you are a "hacker" they will improve your ball stricking.

I was fortunate enough to be introduced to Ram Tour Grind FX clubs when I first took up Golf. I only get to play a couple of rounds a year but without fail still hit in the 70's. It would be nice to say its me but I cant, its the clubs. They are the sweetest clubs I have ever struck.

I love these clubs. I bought them 12 years ago at an Edwin Watts in Florida for $200.00 - they were on the clearance table. I hit them great from the start. They have True Temper Sensicore R flex shafts. They have unbelievable feel and I can really work the ball with them. Not a lot of distance due to my relatively slow swing speed and the soft nickel faces, but this is a set of clubs I will never part with. It's been 12 years and I've never even entertained the thought of a new set. Too bad the old Ram is gone, but I'm sure glad they made these excellent irons before they became a different company.

I am in highschool and I was recently given ram fx 90-100 swing speed forged blades from my coach. I used to hit Ping i3s but not any more. with these blades i hit the ball farther and crisper than ever. Instead of getting the ball to bounce of the clubface I now hit it crisp and when i do it goes far

I have a set of Ram FX pro set, grind tour, fx steel series shaft with flex speed 80-90mph. I have had these for a few years now but just can't master them. I have been working Ping G2's for a few years now and down to low teen hanpicap but everytime i give these ago i find i'm not consistent ball striking, my swing is under investigation. I keep thinking i'll master them some day, I guess these will go up for sale soon and let somebody get the use of them.

I've been playing golf for 12 years and have never tried blade irons. I have only had two sets with my first set being graphite shafted BIG Beartha original irons and my most recent set steel shafted X-20's as my ball striking has gotten better. I left my sticks in my girlfriends car and had the itch to hit some balls so I had to dig through some clubs in the garage to see if I had anything. I forgot I borrowed my friends 7 and 3 iron blades in hopes that one day I could tell the difference. I figured if I could hit the three iron I could hit anything and it would enhance my X-20 game, boy was I wrong. The problem was as my next three range days passed all I was hitting was the RAMS and when I went to the course with my clubs and hit my irons the difference in feel was no mystery. The feel with the X-20's was more like a thud instead of the crisp contact of compression I had with the RAMS. Also the thicker sole of the X-20's almost felt like the irons had bounce to them instead of purely stricking the ball. I'm in the process of getting the entire RAM set of irons as my introduction to blades in my game and am happy to have learned the difference between a blade and cavity back when it comes to conrol and feel. I'm hoping with these irons I can finally break 80 at my home course where I shot 82 from the tips that plays to 7,200 hundred yards.

This set of clubs doesn't hit far and isn't forgiving, but it is one of my favorite iron!
The most amazing thing about this iron is that it is unforgiving. Unlike cavity back iron which let you hit the ball far and straight even on a bad swing, this club will tell you every tiny mistake you made on your swing.
It has excellent feedback, better than any other clubs I've ever played (mizuno mp-32, nike pro, ping cavity back)

Probably not the best clubs for beg/intermediate players who are looking to get the best score or distance, but definitely a great choice to those who are looking to improve their games and swing.

btw, I always thought Ram was a "walmart" type of brand, this club is definitely very different from the rest of their product lines!

Mizuno Mp-32 / Nike Pro combo

I bought these clubs probably 4-5 years ago on ebay based on the reviews at this site. I always had trouble hitting them straight (always a flare to the right) and then I got my swing checked for lie angle. Turns out the Ram irons were 2 degrees flat and the Ping ISI's I bought after my time on the lie board were 3 degrees upright.

Anyway, I nearly sold them as is back on ebay but a best offer was reneged upon. Wow, I have never been so grateful that happened as I am today. Since they didn't sell, I eventually had them bent to my lie specs and noticed a great improvement in direction. However, since they were to be a backup set, I never really used them... I have been thru Ping ISI's, Armour V-25's, Mizuno Pro's, Mizuno MP-37's, MacTec Forged and currently use Wishon 550 combo's. All of the forged irons are great clubs. Therefore, the Rams stayed in the closet mostly.

The other day I packed up my main set and sent them down to my vacation destination so I had to get out a backup set. Well, I don't know if I am just swinging better but the lie adjustment and improvement to my swing has made a true believer out of me. The rams are worthy and should be mentioned in the same sentence as the best forged irons. They are not forged, but the Nickel makes them feel as good as most forged irons and better than quite a few forged sets. They seem to impart more distance than quite a few sets I have hit as well, although I didn't check lofts, etc.

I have been pounding these Nickel Rams so well, I may not go back to my main set. The longer irons are graphite and although I don't hit it like the "Bugman" from the previous review, I was hitting a 4 iron high and long again for the first time in years. I am soon to be 55, and hitting high 185-195 yard 4 irons was a distant memory and never a consistent memory, although it happens that my only legit hole in one came with a 4 iron (Tommy Armour V-25). I just came in from the range and I was hitting 4, 6, 7, 9 and wedges flush central. I added a Ram Tom Watson Troon '82 Nickel wedge to the mix and was puring that as well. It is a shame these clubs are not made anymore.

Look for a set of these on ebay if you can find them....mine won't be available anytime soon....maybe when I hit 70!!
