First of all, I needed another set of irons like a hole in the head. I picked this set up used, and the only reason I did was for the shafts. I thought the stock Nippon R/S (firm) steel shafts would be perfect for my swing, and planned on pulling them and replacing the graphite shafts in another set. I really didn't care or think about actually playing these. That changed quick! After several range sessions and 5 rounds of golf, these sticks are firmly in the bag! Very sweet, solid smack at impact. I find the distance is actually a tad longer than what I'm used to, even compared to graphite irons. Accuracy is the best I have found, and I think a lot of that is due to the excellent shafts. These clubs are winners - best I have hit so far in 15 years of golf, and probably 20 sets of irons. Maybe not the ultimate in forgiveness, but if you're a halfway decent iron striker, these clubs will reward you, and they feel great. Customer Service n/a Similar Products Used: Lots! |

Precept EC-603 - One reason for writing this review, is that I feel the rating are fair, but it is important to stress where these clubs fit in. They are clubs that will take you from the 87-88 to the high 70s - not from 100 to the low 80s.

I have been using forged blades for the last 5 or 6 years but these days I just don't have time to keep my game sharp enough... So I decided to put my blades away and buy something a little more forgiving. I wouldn't say that I bought these clubs because they were the most forgiving/workable/best feeling cavity backs I have played but more because I got them rediculously cheap. After using them for a few rounds my initial impressions were that they were a nice club without being brilliant. They were definately more forgiving then my blades. I found that of centre shots still flew long and straight. I get a nice high ball flight and I find that these irons are easy to work anyway I want. I wouldn't say they are buttery soft like I have heard others describe them but they feel reasonably nice and offer a good amount of feedback. The biggest downside to these clubs is the lack of distance. I have found that since switching from blades I have lost at least 10-15 yards. Once you work out the yardage this is not so big a problem... For anyone interested in buying a set of Precept EC603s I would be happy to recommend them. They are a good but certainly not brilliant club. |

One of those rare finds that match amazing playability with unbelievable forgiveness. A brief history; I have played several brands but mostly Pings for almost 10 years. I played Eye 2s as a beginner, then tried Taylor Made, Cobra, etc. finally settling on Nickel ISIs which have been in my bag for almost 7 years now. Why didn't I switch earlier. Don't get me wrong, ISIs are great clubs for the mid to high handicapper, but workable they are not.
Customer Service Not used, but hear it is very good. Similar Products Used: Ping Eye 2. Ping ISI NIckel. Taylor Made Burner LCG. Cobra IIs. Mizuno MX-23. |

Last week I saw these clubs (used) at a golf store I visit alot. So I read all the reviews I could find on them. All positive except one. So today I asked the shop owner If I could take them to the range and compare them to my Cleveland TA5's. I am very happy with my TA5's but these Precept EC603 hit the ball further and straighter. I love the thin top line and the feel of these clubs. The insert really works hardly any vibration. The Nippon shafts only 95 grams felt good too. I know it's probally to soon to give a review but they felt great and look great in the bag. Customer Service Not used. Similar Products Used: Ta5's, Ta7's, Cobra SSi, Rac os and others. |

Firstly I will say that I am 52 years old and haven't played golf for ten years untill the begining of this year. When I did play regularly (I started playing in 1986 and stopped 1994)I was using forged irons McGregors mainly and I had a set of Titliest for a while) I have this year gone through 3 sets of irons TopFlite Cyclone, Maxfli's, Mizuno T Zoids , I recently purchased a set of EC603's with NS Pro 950GH shafts; Wow! what a club. After three rounds I shot my first ever 68 off the stick, the feel is like a forged iron and as I have reached an age where distance is important I am hitting 7 irons 150 meters straight; these clubs have been heaven sent; not only am I hitting them as long as when I was a player; they are the most accurate club I have ever used (next to a set of Mcgregor VIP irons I owned)the control these babes give you is second to none,I would highly recommend anyone looking to get distance, accurracy and feel, to just get yourself a set and let them do the work for you. I am really happy with this clubs. I think this clubs is being under rated. No one will look for it. In fact, Precept EC-603 (cavity back) is very good clubs. It is blade, soft feel similar feel with forged and fitted with high quality shaft (Nippon Shaft). I got everything in this clubs. I hit the ball straighter and longer. I am improved my game since I bought this clubs on last Feb. From all the clubs I have used, Precept EC-603 is the best in terms of product and value. If looking for blade, no offset, soft feel, forgiving and good distance, buy this clubs. To get all of that, other brand will cost you at least $800. I recently purchased these irons for 209.00 and I must say that they are the best irons I have played, and Ive played a lot of irons, most recently 690mb. I cant believe I spent eight hundred dollars on the Titleist last year. They are great clubs, but the Precepts feel better, same distance and control and they cost six hundred dollars less. If more people would try these clubs instead of going by popular brand, their game will improve because you can work the ball, yet they are forgiving. Try these clubs guys. My brother plays Srixon blades, which is a good club and value as well. Customer Service None Similar Products Used: Srixon forged blades, |

After reading the reviews here bought a set off E-Bay that was too good of a deal to pass up. After receiving them was chomping at the bit to try them out. Went to the range and was sorely dissappointed. As I was preparing to leave the range the pro came over and took a few swings and helped me with what I was doing wrong and it quickly turned from dissappointment to absolute adoration. These clubs are light...mine have the Nippon s/r shafts and took some getting used to after hitting Ping Zing 2's. Shortened my back swing and what a difference. They are controlable, get the ball up nicely and mis hits aren't the death sentence that they could be. They allow you to work the ball (as much as I can)and are far more accurate then my Pings. I am now aiming for pins instead of greens. Thanks to these..and lessons..and new everything else have shot my first 3 rounds below 90. These are not by any means the "touch of the Gods" miracle cure but they will allow you to hit more accurately and reward a good swing with a ball that is "pretty" to watch.
