Over the last four years my handicap has crept up from an 11 to the high-teens, largely because I don't play nearly enough anymore and my equipment has been wrong for me. So when I saw the PING S59s I thought, "Sweet looking clubs, but can I hit them?" Well, I can't stress enough, take advantage of PING's fitting process. I finally have a set of irons (5-PW) that fit my grip size, height, swing speed and posture. I ordered mine with the CS Lite shafts because the stock ZZ65s are a little too stiff and fly too low. The fitter was a little hesitant to put me in the blades, but I convinced him the S59s were similar to my previous set of irons. If results at the indoor driving range are any indication, then these blades will do just fine. They are workable, but still have a game improvement element to their performance. Typically a well-struck shot feels solid and pure. A poor one feels like you'd expect -- dull. Purists may not like them, but I think they're the best-looking clubs PING has ever made. At first blush they certainly seem to do the job, so I can't wait 'til the snow melts and I can play them for real. Customer Service PING fitting at a factory facility (if available) is highly recommended. The launch monitor is a very cool device and inspires confidence in what they recommend to you. Fast turnaround and excellent service. Similar Products Used: Taylor Made 320, Taylor Made Supersteel, Taylor Made Burner Bubble |

Ping S59 Irons / G2 Mixed set
Lets start by saying how much i love the game of golf. It has caused two divorces and many rows over the past 10 years, but i would say it has been all worth while. I have gone through aprox 20 sets of irons in the past 2 years i the desperate search for the perfect set FOR ME. This has taken me to all club manufatcurers and had its ups and downs. Finally though the search is over, i bought the Ping G2 HL irons 3-4, Ping G2 Traditional irons 5-6, Ping S59 7-PW and the Ping MB 52 and 58 wedges. These babies have just been amazing in the first month in my bag, and i don't see them coming out for a very long time. The HL's are the most forgiving long irons about and the normal G2 5 and 6 i have are not far off. I don't understand how some people are not getting any feel from these irons either. I have tried the lot as i said and these irons are right up there with Mizuno on feel. As for the S59 Irons, well they are just supreme. It makes attacking the pins so much easier when you have faith in your clubs thats for sure. They send the ball off on a mid trajectory and just blitz pins even if they are tucked up tight behind bunkers. Shaping shots with all these irons is very easy, even the HL's. Then on to the MB wedges and these just rock as much as the S59's. Awesome Ping, thanks. So don't think about it, just do it. Buy the best irons out there for alll levels of golfers. And if like me you want to see that handicap come crashing down then BUY PING. Customer Service Told 2 week delivery when ordered, they arrived in 5 days. NUFF SAID. Nice looking attempt by Ping to garner a share of the blade market. Nice setup and solid look but the clubs still lack the feel that a blade player prefers. These clubs hit a lot of nice accurate shots but even the shots that end up within tap in birdie range feel distorted and hollow. The clubs feel better the higher the loft. Nice penetrating ball flight and the ball spins nicely off the clubface. Great clubs for a player who wants accurate shots but doesn't desire much feel in his golf game. Ping S59 Irons
Great feel, forgiveness, and look. Without a doubt, the most solid iron I have ever hit. Set up is like a blade, but the forgiveness is like a cavity back - best of both worlds. Ping definitely got it right with these irons!!!! Customer Service Nice because they make the clubs and repair them in the same place! Similar Products Used: Founders 200 Series, Ping ISI |

The S59's are for a 13 or less handicapper. The clubs are easy to set-up and square-off nicely to the target line. Mis-hits provided positive feedback and landed only 5-10 yds. shorter. Ping finally has a winner. Club fitting was impressive, reliable, and quick. First set of Pings & I'm impressed. S-59
I demoed these irons several times even had a fitting done, I really wanted to like these irons. I think that these irons are the best looking irons that I have ever seen. The only problem was that every time I tried hitting them it felt like hitting "ROCKS" even on pure hits. The cushin shafts did soften the shock a bit, but it still felt harsh. I still would have gotten it but upon close inspection of the groves I noticed that they were not sharp and clean. (must be due to the sand blasting that they do) I think that if they clean up the groves I may reconsider buying it as a backup set. I still think that it is a cool looking iron set. But I decided to go with quality and got fitted for a new set of Mizuno MP 37's. But ping will always turn my head, there still a part of me that wants to own a set of S-59. Oh well? |

Ping S-59
Prior and long time Titleist 990 user. Past Ping user including Eye2, Zing1, Isi. These new S-59 irons are very smooth. As far as feed back, very similar to the Ping Eye 2 or Isi series. They are much more forgiving in comparison to Titleist and much more controllable around the greens. Have a look which compliments the blade style of irons. Long irons are a "breeze" to hit. Almost too soft like the Eye 2's, but less offset. Can't beat the 52' and the 56' wedges. I'm a very tall person, so custom fitting is important and a snap. Got the wedges a degree less upright. Wow!, Who offers such controlled individual fitting? If you are not an average sized individual, (and who isn't?) Ping's fitting system (TRADEMARK) is the best. Take it from someone who scours the product lines for accurateness in this area. Will not discuss distance. Everyone is different. Accuracy counts. There are no "golden irons" out there. Distance is pure swing speed. Accuracy is good swing mechanics. Forgiveness is defined as "PING". |
