First of all thanks to everyone who put there review before me, if it weren't for you I wouldn't have purchased these clubs. I bought these clubs of ebay used for 400$ I then spent 80$ adding a half an inch to them. I took them out to the driving range and WOW! I was speechless. I had added about 20 yards to every club up to my six iron. My 5 iron through 3iron was about the same as my old clubs. My first day out on the links i was tagging greens on my second shot every whole, even after a bad tee shot on a long par four i pulled out my four iron and launched one to the green from 200 yards out and saved par. I have to say though that these aren't for everyone. You must be a good ball stricker before you can hit these clubs correct and they favor a more up and down swing pattern. But, even when you miss hit the ball they still go strait but just shorter than you might expect. You really have to make a serious error before you really "wiff one". If you hit one wrong it will let you know by vibrating your arms, not pleaseant. It is easy to play a little draw/fade with these irons, just tighten up your pinky and ringfinger on your left hand and you got your draw, Loosen it up and allow the club face to stay open and you have a nice fade. In conclusion, These clubs arent magic but they are the tools that give you the ability to make magic. Please get fitted dont try to buy any old set off ebay and think they are going to work for you

I started learning golf playing blades (McGregors) and eventually in time as I didn't play as much, switched over to Pings. I have played nearly every model they have produced, but the one annoyance I have always had with Pings is ball height. I am not someone who has a problem getting the ball into the air, irregardless of club type. Recently I went back to playing blades (Titleist 690.MB's). Since switching, I haven't been able to break 80 much more than a handful of times. The Titleist blades are wonderful clubs, as long as you can hit the center of the club 95% of the time, which I can't. They are deadly accurate when hit correctly, and of course there is the "feel factor" of knowing where you hit the ball on the clubface. I kept trying to work with the 690's but finally decided they simply weren't for me at this stage of my life. I went out shopping and frankly didn't have it in mind to buy Pings again, as the ball flight had always been to high for me, and the lack of feel on anything but a totally tanked shot bothered me. I demo'ed Callaways (no feel there either, at least the models I hit), Mizuno's, Cleveland's, Nike's and finally the salesperson went to the Ping cart and came back with a S59. After hitting it for about 20 minutes, then going back and forth with the others, I was sold. Certainly it doesn't have that buttery feel when you hit it square, but it gave me enough feedback on off-center shots to know where I was hitting it. I easily picked up a club and a half in distance over the 690's (I am assuming because Ping usually has much stronger lofts). Most surprising was using the steel shafts in stiff flex, I was getting a lower ball flight than I used to get playing prior Ping models. Okay, it certainly isn't like blades, but it is acceptable. Best of all I hit 6 shots in a row with a 6 iron, and every one landed within 5 feet of each other (I don't know about anyone else, but that more than enough accuracy for me). It takes a little more to fade or draw the ball, but still very easy compared to conventional Pings. Best of all there is a definite forgiveness in this club that simply isn't in a forged blade. You get the feedback, but don't get your teeth rattled. With the blades, I carried a 2 iron mostly for use off the tee on par 4 holes less than 360 yards, but rarely used it off the fairway. Instead of going with the 2 iron in the S59, I picked up a G2 HL 2 iron. Very awesome club! I am getting 230 off the tee with it, and can EASILY take it off the fairway! Best of all, after spending a little range time getting used to these, I played a couple of rounds during the weekend and shot 75-76. If you are playing forged blades, and just not happy with them, these might be a nice alternative. I wouldn't call these game improvement clubs, as they do require a smooth swing and a fairly centered hit, but when you are a little off center, you still get a pretty good result. I would say if you have a handicap of 12 or below, these would be worth a look for you.

Customer Service

Ping has ALWAYS excelled in this area. I was lucky enough to find a set of S59 Tours that matched my specs in stock, but prior experience with them has shown me that they are VERY responsive to their customers.

this combo is hard to beat. the 2-5 irons G2HL's are very loooooong and very straight, ball jumps off face and goes HIGH and lands SOFT. 6-PW S59's are pin seekers, control is second to none. distance is above my thoughts with these irons.

First let me say I shoot between the high 70s and the low 80s.I traded a set of custom fitted G-2s 3-wedge w/steel shafts for this set of S-59s 4-wedge,Ping TFC 100 graphite shafts in regular flex.I knew I was taking a gamble as I only had the G-2s for about 6 weeks and hit them fairly well except for a nasty hook once in a while.Back to the S-59s.The nasty hook went away almost at once. The 7-wedge I hit so well it almost feels automatic.I haven't hit the 4-6 irons that much as I carry 4 woods driver,15*,20*,23*26*.The setup is almost perfect, and I've found that chipping with an 8 iron has improved greatly.I forgot to mention, this set has "Tour lofts" 2 degrees strong. The length is about the same, but when I hit a shot right on the money,I srart it left of the target, and hook it right to the pin.As you should figure out,I'm a lefty, and Ping is one of the few companies that offer there complete line to lefties. As far as I'm concerned,I've found the "perfect set".I also purchased a gap wedge M/B 52 degrees, bent to 50 degrees to fit the set.I use a Ping BeCu Eye-2 57 degree sand wedge,I only use it in sand. I use the 50 degree as a combination gap/lob wedge. They are just the best looking clubs out there. No flash, just performance.

Customer Service

I ordered a 3 and gap wedge for the G-2 set I traded for the S-59s.They came from Arizona to Ohio in 5 days.(WOW)Same when I ordered the 52 M/B wedge for the S-59 set,and it had to be bent to 50 degrees

I have played Ping Eye2's for the last several years and loved them. I decided I needed more accuracy and feel so I bought the S59's. Great Choice! They have good feel yet also are somewhat forgiving. I have picked up a full club in distance since switching. I would recommend these to any low to mid handicap. I don't think they are a high handicap club.

I got these Irons about 7 months ago now and they are great!! These irons are very accurate, I like how I can work them both ways as well. The feel is sweet when you hit them solid. I got them custom fit for me, by far the best way to go. A slightly lower trajectory and less spin, but it has turned out great for me.

i played these irons today for the first time and after i found my swing (i have not been able to play for 4 weeks i was very impressed-i hit the short irons very solid and straight and i could really feel the club release to the target which may have been a result of the zz-65 shafts. i also was very happy when i used the 3 iron off the tee on some short par 4's, they were solid and straight down the middle. i was not as solid with the 4 thru 6 but i am attribiuting that to the rust that has built up on my swing. overall the distance seemed to be equal to my callaway x-12's that i have loved for the last 5 years but i am excited that my accuracy has a very good chance of improving, at least after my 1st round i am very optimistic. mine are the green dots 2 degree upright and a half in longer. i would also like to thank my wife for purchasing these for me for christmas though she probably overpaid but i was also able to be fitted. i'm sure they were cheaper on ebay but if i had purchased from them i would have probably gotten black dots and i would not have been able to compare them to the i-3's or the tour series model plus she may have changed her mind before i would have found the "perfect" deal. i am very much looking forward to playing these clubs for the forseeable future.

Ping has a winner here! For the better iron player only. The forgiveness is minimal but then if you want forgiveness then you would not by a blade. Great looking at setup. Alignment is a no brainer. Nice boring ball flight and distance is excellent. When my game is on these irons deliver big time. Accuracy is first rate. The zz65 shaft is a little lite but I got used to it. These weapons are stout! Smallish head and narrow sole deliver from tight lies and rough. A well struck shot is solid but not buttery like the mizuno blade. These baby are in my bag forever.

Customer Service

Ive had first class service from ping and they also respond to email. The wrx department reshafted a driver and had it back to me in less than two weeks.

I bought these 4 weeks ago. I used Wilson Fat Shafts for 2 years and decided to go with semi-blades. The main difference I found with these clubs is that crisp shots are more accurate and distance is more consistent. The ball will fly where you intend it on proper hits. Oversized clubs with larger hitting zones will no doubt be less controllable with distances varying. Going with blades I found that the short game improve. These clubs are lighter, you can get underneath the ball easier and you can control your middle clubs(7-PW) a lot better. Oversized clubs don't give you that feel and accuracy in the short irons. The ping shaft is as good as any brand out there. I highly recommend these clubs for anyone with a handicap to 12 and who want's to improve.

I have been playing PING irons since I started golf 20 years ago. Perhaps some of my bias lies in this fact, but I have "tried" other irons in an effort to take my game to the next level. I believe I have found just the iron. Not only are these irons longer than anything I have played from PING, but are more accurate than any iron I have tried and that list is very long. Accuracy from 150yds in is almost dial it in and let it rip, it's scarry. I am a bit reluctant to praise the longer irons though as I just have not hit much beyond the 6 irons, haven't had to(thanks to my 983K). I also carry a rescu mid for thsoe purposes, but in terms of the s59's, for game improvement and "taking it to the next level" these irons are flatout the best thing since apple pie, no kidding. I have the CS-lite stiff steel shafts because I was so comfortable with my MB wedges which have that shaft in them, so I kept things consistent. I prefer soemthing heavier though and the zz-65's would probably have been the better choice, make sure you take advantage of the fitting system, it will help immensely.
