Got some Yonex hand-me-downs and traded them for the ISI's + some extra cash, the guy basically got robbed. They feel very soft and aren't too forgiving (I like how they tell me I messed up). They're originally black dots but I knew something was awry as I wasn't getting clean contact with them. If you are planning to buy these beauties make sure you get the loft/lie checked and adjusted according to your swing. It costed 50 dollars to get my 2-SW's lofts and lies adjusted and in doing so has shaved off a good 5-7 strokes. They're often compared to the legendary Ping Eye 2's and for a good reason. Later on I'll probably have them fitted with rifle shafts, I'll be playing these for quite some time. Can be played by golfers of all levels if they can get their hands on a set in good condition. These retailed for up to 1400 dollars when they first came out.

Customer Service

Wonderful, called them about possible loft/lie adjustments. Unfortunately they will not adjust the Nickels as it is a dense material (giving it the soft feel) and the possibilities of breakage are definitely there. The casts have been destroyed (duh) and if any are broken they cannot replace them. If you need the nickels to be adjusted ask a local custom club maker with experience if he can handle the job. Up to 3 degrees of adjustment should be safe, although I will not be held liable :).

Im not the best at playing golf. In fact, i have played less than a year and im still trying to grasp basic levels of play. I started off buying a set of cheap set from Wal-mart to start with just to make sure i liked playing before spending any money. I became hooked, and over the past several months i found myself wanting to upgrade to a better set. I cant afford brand new high quality clubs, and after looking, i found a set of Ping ISI-S irons (3-PW) on ebay and a Ping ISI Titanium driver there as well. I paid around $330 for everything. I have read around quite a bit that most irons today, even cheapo's, can perform the same. Well, i have to say not true. I mainly play a 9-hole par 3 course close to home because its cheap and fun. I took the irons out today for the first time. I am very impressed. Par is 27 and i usually shoot around 45-50. (Like i said, im not very good). Today i shot a 37 the first round and a 35 the second round. The second round i should have shot a 33 if it wasn't for my bad putting. For me, it was fantastic. Even when i hit bad shots, they seemed to do pretty good. I came very close to my first ace, landing it less that 6" from the pin. I am very pleased with my purchase. One note, i did go online and do the webfit on ping's website and it matched me with blue dot. The irons i bought had been reshafted with +1 1/4" longer than stock shafts. My PW hits around 110 yards, 10 yards longer than my previous irons.

I loved the look of these clubs when I first started golfing 8 yrs ago. They are unique even to this day. Unfortunately they were too expensive and I was just going into college. My game is not very good since i haven't touched a club in years due to school and work so when I finally decided to pick up golfing again, I knew what I wanted. I had an old set of Armour 855 silver scots and traded them in for these mint ISI nickels with rifle steel shafts. I had just gotten a good job so I bought my brother a set of TM firesole irons. I had to work on my slice at the beginning of the summer so golfing wasn't much fun until around July. I started crushing the 3 iron and things started to click. One day, I picked up my brother's firesoles, they were light and I liked them alot but as soon as I went back to the Pings, it was like magic. I had a nice draw and the ball went where I wanted it to. The 2 iron in this bag is the only one without the rifle shaft and I think that's giving me some problems. I'm hitting the ball every which way with that club. The other reviews are right when they say that these clubs have no feedback. Just check your swing and make sure you're consistent. I'm gonna go to the pro shop and see if I can't make these clubs a tad bit lighter somehow and get my 2-piece a new shaft. These are the only irons ever made completely of Nickel and i'm hoping to keep them for future value. I'm a club junkie so i might try the G2s, i've heard nothing but good about them.

Customer Service

Ping won't let you bend nickels because the possibility of damaging the integrity of these clubs...so i went to the custom guys and they did it for me. Otherwise, ping is GREAT and they are cool peoples on the phone.

Have owned the original ping eye for years, but always thought the lofts were too generous, especially in the wind. Purchased the isi 18 months ago, then recently bought the i3 blade (very overrated) The isi is the staightest iron on the market especially 3 to 6 iron. I have fitted 5.0 rifles and the ball flight is pure. When will manufacturers realise some clubs simply can't be improved. I heard on the golf channel Lee Westwood is still using the zing 2 - and will so until ping produce an iron equally as staight.

Customer Service

Ping sent an 8 iron for my ping eye set to the exact factory specs - they are the best club makers on the planet, and how refreshing that all there clubs are made in the USA.

I've been a near scratch player (2-4 hdcp) for a number of years but practice less and less as I get older. Accordingly, my Ram Tour Grind blades are not "working" as well as they used to. I was looking for some "game improvement" clubs and tried a lot of different brands. I liked the look of the Ping ISIs the best (thin top line) but the set I bought always felt like I was hitting stones instead of balls. I finally figured out that Ping's shaft designation is a little different than others. I have always played a regular shaft, but when I got a set of ISI with regular shafts (even though the fitter suggested stiff), they felt harsh, as I stated above. This year I had them reshafted with "A" (senior) shafts and they feel great. I suggest that, if you get ISIs, you go one step softer in shafts. By the way, these are great irons, so get some if you're looking for a little forgiveness in your old age.

Customer Service

Great! Very accomodating about all inquiries and reshafted for me in a heartbeat.

The Ping ISI irons are in one word....TIGHT! ..... Im a club maker......Not professionally but rather for family and friends and of course myself. I have made custom clubs for about 15 years but 2 years ago I was too lazy to make them so I bought a set of ISI'S. With the sensicore shaft ZZ I found the Irons I will wear out for the first time in my life. They are the best feeling and the cleanest feeling irons I have ever played....I demoed the new Ping Irons in 2001 and they were like hitting blades...awful!.. If you are a once a week player with a good game but not too serious anymore and you want to feel ball striking as it was meant to be felt....FIND!! some ISI Semsicore shaft irons....You will see the light Rick

I've used ping irons since 1991. Started with the Eye2, Zing2, ISIk and now ISIs BeCu. Never really like the Zing2 and the ISIk but IMHO the ISIs are the best irons that ping has ever produced. Maybe it's the combi of zz65 shaft and the Cu head but every now and then if my putting is in the zone, I played par golf. I'm not really a regular player in the sense that I get to play maybe at most twice a month. After struggling through the first 2 holes, usually my game will pick up from then onward. By now I realized, everytime my swing is back to normal, the ping irons easily became part of my swing. On the other hand, there are irons that were never easy to get used to and resulted in a very thin vallet. From one golfer to another, give the ISIs a try. The resale value is high if you decide to let go later on.

Model Reviewed: PING ISI Nickel & Coppers

I recently switched clubs from Cleveland's fantastic Gunmetal blades (TA-1s) to the PING ISI Coppers (1-iron through 9-iron) and PING's ISI Nickel wedges (PW, GW, SW, & LW). Changing clubs was a difficult decision for me. The Clevelands had a terrific feel and I really liked the visual set-up of the gunmetal finish. However, after spending a great deal of agonizing over the decision, I concluded that the blades just didn't give me enough forgiveness -- particularly from the long-irons where I need it most. Having made the decision to change irons, I began to review new and used club offerings from leading pro-line manufacturers which featured parameter weighting. However, I couldn't sacrifice the soft feel that I had become accostomed with from my Clevelands. As a result, I began looking at clubs that were either (a) forged or were (b) constructed from high-feel materials such as copper and nickel. After having sampled many clubs and having spoken with a few mini-tour players, PGA instructors, and other trusted friends, I decided to concentrate my search on the Ping ISIs. In the end, I decided that the visual set-up of the copper ISIs were close to what I had experienced with the Gunmetals and the feel was as soft or softer than the Clevelands. However, I also decided that the softer feeling of the ISI Nickels was absolutely perfect in my wedges. Believe me, it was no easy task finding individual used Ping Nickel wedges in blue dot!! Several weeks after making the decision, I am certain that I made the right choice. Despite not having a chance to hit them at the practice facility, I managed to hit several terrific shots right out of the gate. Shots felt crisp at impact and, although soft, the feel was not muted like the feeling from many cast clubs. Slight imperfections at impact still tracked close to the hole. Something that I could never have expected of my former blades. Bottom line? I am certain that these clubs are equally good for a number of players -- from those who shoot in the mid-90s to low-80s players. I highly recommend either the copper or nickel irons. Of course, my blend of both the coppers and nickels are p-e-r-f-e-c-t.

These clubs are great for beginners and those like me who can be inconsistant. In a very short time these clubs have allowed me to take about 8+ strokes off my score. They are very forgiving and inspire confidence on difficult shots. If you tend to hit of center shots or are just looking for a great club from a great company I encourage you to give the ISIs a try. They can be purchased relatively cheaply used, and since they are PING you know they are durable. Make sure to be fit be a PING fitter to take full advantage of these sweet clubs.

Customer Service

PING has the best customer service. Will change the loft and lie angle rather cheaply if needed.
