I made the move to the I3 from the ISI-K and all I can say is WOW! Like someone said earlier even the 3 and 4 iron is a breeze to get in the air and accurate. I played my first round with them Yesterday and hit everyone like I have played them for years. Very easy clubs to hit . My off center shots went dead straight, with no loss of distance.I am sold!! If you run across a set of these you better jump on them. |

I just purchased a used set of these on e-bay more less as a back set. When I got them however and hit them a few times they instantly took a staring role in my bag. They are so easy to hit and hit straight. Haven't noticed any differences in distance really but accuracy(what counts) is awesome. If you can find a set of these I'd suggest you pick them up as quick as possible because this is still one of the best irons made. I remember when they first came out they were in the top three irons for three straight years on rankmark. If they had'nt been replaced they'd still be there. Save yourself some money find you a set of these because you won't find anything any better. Customer Service Haven't used but hear it's pretty good. These clubs are worthy successors to the legendary Eye2s. Feel is great and forgiveness is the best of any Ping clubs. Club almost feels like it swings itself. They function well from all types of lies, however in heavy rough you really need to go after it due to the light head. I had some alignment issues with the face at first but once I understood the alignment aids on the face the problem went away. Overall these are excellent irons. I'll never get rid of them. Customer Service AAA+++. Ping always goes the extra mile to satisfy their customers. Similar Products Used: Ping Eye2, Callaway Steelhead X-14, Karsten I, |

Ping I3
In my quest for a new set of irons I tried the following: Ping I3 Ping I3 + Ping G2 Ping G2 HL The Ping I3 was the best out of the lot for me. They were solid and consistent. Hit the ball accurately and it flies a mile - I have been surprised at the distance I get. Usually my bad shots are out on the toe - with the I3's they still fly straight and lose minimal distance!! The I3+ irons were more blade like for me and did not inspire confidence - I simply could not hit them. The G2's are nice and I struck them well but somehow the distance on the I3 was much superior and so was the accuracy. I could not hit the G2-HL they felt awful and did not suit my swing. Prior to these I played Ping ISI-S (the sweetest irons I ever played until now) and Top Flite Tours (excellent irons for beginners) Customer Service Excellent - bought the clubs on Ebay and got Ping to readjust them for free!! I've had these clubs for 4 yrs now, and they have served me well. They have a nice flight on the ball, and are easy to use. Unfortunately, I'm coming to the stage in my golf where I'm too good for them, and I'll need to change to move up a stage. But for anyone who's thinking about buying a set and shoot rounds in the 80s and 90s, you can't go far wrong with this set. Note, the wedge and the sandwedge are completely different to one another in terms of weight - you get a lot of distance out of the wedge but nowt when you hit the sandwedge (tough for those in-between shots!). Customer Service Didn't really need it - I'm average height and everything, but they still do free custom fitting on all sets. |

Ping I3 O-size irons
I'm not one to write reviews, but after using the Ping I3 O-size irons, I have to spread the good news. First of all, I was perfectly happy with my Callaway X-12's when I happen to see a Ping 6 iron in the cage at 2nd Swing golf store. I took a few swings and it felt great, so I decided to ask the store golf pro about the fitting process. I was fitted, and lucky enough to find a used set (perfect match) for my size at a reasonable price of ($399.00). With my old Callaway set, I didn't even carry my 3-5 iron in my bag, as I was never very consistent (especially 3 & 4). Wow, I went to the range today, and I could not beleive how straight I was hitting the 3 & 4 irons. I have always been very accurate with my short irons, but these are even better and I am getting about 10-15 yards more in distance. I actually stood back and wondered if I was doing something different, I addressed the ball again and started firing the ball straight down the middle once again. I probably hit 40 balls with the 3, 4 & 5 iron and I did not hit one slice. Don't get me wrong, It's not magic, but if you have anything resembling a decent swing, the Ping i3 O-size is a must have. Ping I3 O-Size
I'm a high school golfer (age 16) who shoots in the low to mid 80s (break 80 occasionally and shoot in the low 90s on occasion). I have a pretty average swing speed (high 90s, 160 yard 7 iron). I switched to these irons after having used old Titleist DTRs since I started playing. These irons are some of the easiest to hit and most forgiving I have ever hit. While at the moment I am in a kind of slump, I got these irons 2 or 3 months ago and for 90% of the time I have hit them great. During most of the summer, I played 9 holes several times a week and was consistently between 38 and 43, despite not being a great putter and having driving issues. I hit these irons the distance I should, and while my ball flight varies from day to day, it is almost always a playable shape--a driving draw or a high soft fade. Long irons used to be one of my big weaknesses, but the I3's are so forgiving and easy to hit that that is no longer the case. On one hole at my home coure (450 yards w/ a forced layup to a downhill and funneling fairwayand a minimum 2nd shot of 195 yards over water) I was pretty much always green high, and hit the green probably half the time--a pretty good percentage for a 10 handicapper hitting a 3 or 4 iron. These irons are easy to hit and forgiving while still retaining feel, and fly higher w/o any loss of distance. highly reccomended. Customer Service Haven't dealt w/ them, but good reputation Similar Products Used: Titleist DTRs (owned) demoed: Nike Pro Combos, Pinge Eye 2, Taylor Made RAC OS, mixed set of Titleist S70 blades and cavity backs. |

Well, I bought the i3's used from a local golf retailer. Did I gain 30 yards? No. Did my worst swings suddenly go straight? No. These, nor any other, clubs are not magic and will not cure all ills. They are however a well balance set of irons with nice feel of the face. The ball seems to "jump" off the face a bit on really short shots so I dropped the wedge as I couldn't control the distance properly on chips. These do have a measure of forgiveness and generous offset will help straighten out mildly errant shots. Overall very good irons for the mid to high handicapper. |

I started playing golf in the mid 80's. I used Spalding Executive irons (I never liked the feeling of those clubs, I got a good deal that's why I bought them). In 1988 and 1989, I played at least 40 rounds a year, never breaking 90 (I always seemed to shoot 93 or 94). From 1990 to 2004 I was transferred to remote places in northern Canada with no golf courses. I played only 4 or 5 times during that whole period. Once in a while I'd go shoot 115 and store my clubs for another three years. This year I was able to restart playing golf on a regular basis. My first round was 110 in pouring rain, after some work at the range, I finally broke 100 for the first time in 15 years (I shot 99 and then 96). Then I decided it was time to change my old Spaldings, I bought some Ping I3 O red dot, I went to the range and was knockned on my butt the first time I hit those irons. I could not believe how buttery smooth they felt and how forgiving they were, specially the short irons. I could'nt wait to try them on the course, the result was amazing for me, I shot 87! The pitching wedge that has always been my worst ennemy (I even stopped using it, using a 9 iron instead) is now my best weapon, I feel so confident with it, I always feel it'going to be close to my target and I have no fear of butching one. The next round I shot 89, so it wasn't a fluke. Those irons combine with my new Callaway Hawkeye VFT Titanium driver have done miracles for me. I hesitated a long time before spending so much money on golf clubs but now I feel this is my best "shot" in a long time. Customer Service Never used. Similar Products Used: Spalding Executive |
