Extremely accurate irons. JZ shaft cushions vibrations very well. Knock-down shots are a breeze. Distance control is excellent. It will be to your advantage to get a custom fit. All in all , a great club.

I just got these and they do take some adjustment. They are strong - 5 yards longer than my old Palmer PHD ti's - and they do get up easy. Play nicely off thin lies or in the rough. Great clubs and getting better with use.

Customer Service

Local pro very helpful in fitting. Was told shipping would be 10 days - ended up being 7.

Model Reviewed: Ping i3 "O" size irons, DG stiff steel shafts

I have been jumping around experimenting with various irons in the past three years. King Cobra, Callaway X12, and Ping Nickle. After reading a few reviews I decided to purchase a set of the i3 oversized irons. I was fitted by my local pro (3 degrees upright, stiff DG steel shaft) and can't say that I was very impressed initially. It seemed I lost distance and had a tendancy to hit thin. However, once playing these irons for more than a dozen rounds I have to say that I made a good decision to switch. They go straight at the target and the distance is the same or a half club less than the X12s I used to have. These will stay in my bag for a while.

Customer Service

No real experience other than these clubs were delivered within a reasonable time after ordered by my local golf pro.

Very nice set of clubs, took me a month to get used to them, but one's you do you will appreciate them better, Don't look as nice as the X12 but definately hit just as good, I had a problem with the fitting, I measured between 2 different dots and 2 diferent fitting shop's gave me a different answears, But overall these clubs are forgiving and accurate, I can't say i am going to drop 10 strokes though, but it would be nice to think that way Whatever works I guess.

These are the best irons I have ever played. It is possible to work the ball. I can hit controlled draws with ease, but I have a little trouble getting the ball to fade with these... they just don't seem to want to. It's possible to stop the ball quickly with these irons and I don't have any trouble controlling my trajectory. These irons are great. I would recommend getting 2-6 in O-size and 7-PW in blade.

Great Clubs! A nice smooth easy swing produces an accurate and long shot. I tried the Taylor Made Burners and I didn't find them as consistant. The Cobra's were ok too but they didn't have the feel (love those cushion shafts!). I bought a demo set for the same price I would have paid for the Cobras. If you can't find the extra cash for the Pings, try the Mizuno Sures.

Got these clubs for a steal after doing a lot of homework on the web. Ended up purchasing them at a local golf store price matched. Got fitted and then started playing. I went from the mid 80's to the high 70's. These clubs are great!! I can't believe how the stick to the green. I've never been able to keep the ball on the green from 130-180 yards out. Now all of them stop dead in their tracks. Accuracy is great...even though sometimes I do draw it a little. Distance is very consistant with each club. I believe this has contributed the most in bringing down my score. I wrote down the length each clubs averages and I'm right on the money. Ping makes great quality clubs. If you are looking to buy a new set of irons, this is the one. Do some homework for prices and perhaps get fitted by a shop first if you buy over the internet.

Had to get new irons due to tendonitis in my forearms, and was set to look @ graphite shafts with Mizuno's and Pings. The clubfitter suggested the I3's with the cushin insert in their steel shafts. Good decision...no pain & as a bonus, I'm hitting a full clublength longer, feels solid with good feedback & nice accuracy. Got the full set of wedges and distance control is great, no problems in stopping any of my 2-piece distance balls on the green.

I am very satisfied with my purchase. I have played 7 rounds with my new Pings. I generally shoot in the high 90's but there were 3 courses that I couldn't break 100. I tackled these courses with my irons and finally got a little revenge (94,96,92). Also shot 2 or 3 rounds in the 80's. Yes it wasn't ALL the irons, you do have to putt and drive, but I think I have hit more greens in regulation than before. I think there is a little more forgiveness with the slight offset the O-Size have. I have seen a few of my tee shots that I have hit off the toe, go only slightly right, where I think my old irons would have left me WAY right! They feel good too. I think I have more confidence now and hit my 3 and 4 irons much better. They are pricey, but I think I will have these clubs for many years to come. Now..should I get the woods to complement the irons.......?

Wow! two words, straight and long; tendency for a bit of a draw. These are great clubs! althrough the mizuno ez felt very good when hit right, it didn't have enough forgiveness for my game. Custom fitting a must! I demo-ed several lie and shaft before going with reg-steel, orange.
