A couple of years ago, I had a set of Ping I3 irons. Great clubs, long and straight. I sold them because I thought they were a little boring, straight everytime and not really too workable. I wanted some clubs that I could fade and draw if I wanted. I was sooooooo STUPID. My ego was writing checks that my ability couldn't cash. Since selling my Pings I've had Taylor Made RAC's, Cleveland TA7's and Nike Pro Combos. After all that, and dropping my hndicap down to a 17 through lots of time on course, I'm going back to PING, hat in hand, with a bunch of roses. I got my fitting rechecked (Changed from orange dot to red dot), and borrowed a set of G2's. The set I borrowed were 3-5 in the HL's, and 6 through LW in the regular G2. First stop, the driving range. I spent 2.5 hours on the range and hit 5 buckets of balls. I haven't had that much fun on the range in years. Using these clubs I hit about 10 - 15 yards longer than any of my previous sets, and straight as an arrow. I would hit a shot, then start laughing as the ball sailed straight and landed right next to my target. Right, now for the course.... Next day, off to my local course. Again these clubs didn't let me down. I cant tell you how many times I hit one of the G2's (Especially the HL long irons) and watched my ball fly straight with the perfect trajectory with my brain saying 'why isn't it coming down yet?'. I haven't been hitting my driver well lately, but with these irons, who cares, the G2's will bail me out. Again, consitently 8-10% more distance with all of the irons. I wholeheartedly recommend any player go out and get fitted for these clubs, then test them out. You won't be disappointed. I wrote a review for the I3's in which I said 'These are the closest thing to legally cheating'..... that was until the G2's. I'm not giving these back....... See my review of the HL's in the G2HL section. It's an excellent set of irons. Decent feel and good touch. Given that I have been playing forged blades, decent is not a bad rating. When compared to either X16 or Slingshot, this is much better feeling clubs. I always advocate more feeling equals to a better swing. Even with mis-hits, the balls went strait and far, but with all important feel, which neither Callaway nor Nike had any. I also owned Adams IDEA. I like everything including the price, but I was hooking everything badly. Too much offset. I should have tried A1 instead. The part of the feeling quickly left me when I saw the price tag, but still like the irons enough that I can really recommend it. Funny thing is that Z Tour Z2 comes very close to these things. Not quite the same feel (little less), but pretty danm good and close. Can one justify spending 4 times for the Ping? That really is up to you. If you need to be fitted, good support, and like the attention of fellow golfers, then go for it! Customer Service Probably typical Ping. Ping and Callaway has been always good+ For what they charge, they better be good+ Similar Products Used: MX 20, Slingshot, Adams IDEA, X-16 |

Been wanting to get Pings for so long...I'm glad I waited until the G2's. Took over an hour to get fitted and what a difference! With shaft flex, and lie angle fitted to my swing, I've added yard upon straight yard! Hook is gone, push is gone, can't wait for the snow to melt so I can see how they play. But, they feel and hit great at my local heated outdoor range. Oh, I highly recommend the HL 3 and 4 iron if you're like most golfers that have a bit of inconsistency with the longer irons. Great product, may just help me finally get my handicap to single digits! Customer Service Excellent. Got the clubs as promised in 7 days. Similar Products Used: TM 320, Callaway X14 |

I just got the clubs today - FINALLY - after going through fitting and demo process. From the post office I went directly to a golf course - and after that to a driving range. I knew I like these clubs after first testing - but after today’s game I just love them. Very well balanced (shaft - Steel CS Lite - regular), very nice trajectory . Nice soft landing. Highly recommend these clubs to anybody who wants to enjoy the best game in the world - golf! Customer Service Did not have to use as yet. Similar Products Used: Cleveland VAS+, Ping i3-O, |

These are great clubs. Skip Ebay and get fitted for the clubs by a vendor. It's worth the extra money. They are not especially long - but they have flattened out my hook without taking away workability. They are fairly light and work best with an easy swing. Customer Service Excellent. Ping G2 Irons / Ping S59 Irons Mixed set
Lets start by saying how much i love the game of golf. It has caused two divorces and many rows over the past 10 years, but i would say it has been all worth while. I have gone through aprox 20 sets of irons in the past 2 years i the desperate search for the perfect set FOR ME. This has taken me to all club manufatcurers and had its ups and downs. Finally though the search is over, i bought the Ping G2 HL irons 3-4, Ping G2 Traditional irons 5-6, Ping S59 7-PW and the Ping MB 52 and 58 wedges. These babies have just been amazing in the first month in my bag, and i don't see them coming out for a very long time. The HL's are the most forgiving long irons about and the normal G2 5 and 6 i have are not far off. I don't understand how some people are not getting any feel from these irons either. I have tried the lot as i said and these irons are right up there with Mizuno on feel. As for the S59 Irons, well they are just supreme. It makes attacking the pins so much easier when you have faith in your clubs thats for sure. They send the ball off on a mid trajectory and just blitz pins even if they are tucked up tight behind bunkers. Shaping shots with all these irons is very easy, even the HL's. Then on to the MB wedges and these just rock as much as the S59's. Awesome Ping, thanks. So don't think about it, just do it. Buy the best irons out there for alll levels of golfers. And if like me you want to see that handicap come crashing down then BUY PING. Customer Service Ordered the clubs and was told 2 weeks delivery, they arrived in 5 days. NUFF SAID. g2 irons from ping
Before i had these irons i was playing some old irons i had custom fitted to my size. as my game progressed, i realized that they just couldn't do it for me anymore. I started researching and found two irons that i liked, the g2's and the ta7's from cleveland. Both were very solid, but what set the two apart were how easy the g2's were to hit. Not only did i hit them high and with a little draw but also gained about 8 yards distance wise. I also releazied that i had greater touch around the greens, with their wedges. At first i was wary to buy the wedges and wanted to go with a more traditional, cleveland wedges, but turns out that they are great and wouldn't trade them for a thing. I highly recomend these irons for a person of any skill level. You can work the ball in almost any direction and are extremely solid. They are the best! Customer Service Shalimar was great, but the better part was that i needed to get my irons bent to one degree flat and ping took them, no questions asked and not charge. They were great about it! |

Ping G2
Very nice clubs. Looks like Ping has taken the old Eye 2 philosophy and brought it into the 21st century. I played the Eye 2's off and on for years (and always liked them) and the G2's seem to be the same bloodline but cleaned, trimmed, and modernized. Karsten would be happy with these, I think. Very solid and extremely forgiving - I hit one off the toe this weekend and hardly suffered a bit. Customer Service Ping is the best in the business as far as I'm concerned. Ping G2 HL/EZ Graphite Irons
I purchased the 3,4,5 HL and the 7-LW EZ to replace my I3s. These irons are a club longer than the I3s and more accurate. They are the first graphite irons I have ever hit accurately. The HLs are very easy to get airborne and the EZs are highly accurate. I had the loft on the HLs taken down 1 deg each to be in sync with the EZs. The shafts are the best looking graphites to date. This is my 3rd set of Ping irons and by far the best. Customer Service I was promised delivery within 3 weeks but received them within 2 weeks. HL 3&4; G2 5-SW (Green Dot - 2 degrees upright)
Really loving these irons. I previously played with Wilson Deep Reds which did wonders for my game being so forgiving. The G2's are just as forgiving with the added bonus of tremendous feedback from sweet shots, mis-hits etc... I was a bit concerned about distance loss, switching from graphite shafts to steel. However thanks to the penetrating ball flight of the G2's I have actually gained a couple of yards with added control on the shorter irons. The HL irons take a bit of getting used to, but when hit sweetly they are a far better proposition than the more traditional 3&4 irons. Overall I am thrilled with my purchase, these clubs are definitely a class act. Customer Service Ping is a quality act. The custom fit process makes so much sense and is highly recommended for anyone serious about improving their golf. Similar Products Used: Wilson Deep Red, Callaway x-14, x-16, King Cobra SS |
