I had been playing Taylor Made 300 Series (forged cavity backs) for 2 years or so, and eventually I got tired of wasting good tee shots. For example, in one of my high school tournaments a few weeks ago, I hit 13 out of 14 fairways with the Taylor Made R580 XD (awesome club by the way), but I missed a ridiculous amount of greens and shot 91. So I tried the SlingShots out, and they helped me improve by 7 shots compared with the Taylor Mades. I shot 82 with the 300s, then a 75 the next day on the same course with the SlingShots. These clubs are awesome and I recommend them to anyone who wants the ultimate in forgiveness and accuracy. Customer Service None needed. |

This is a tale of two clubs. The Nike Slingshots on a calm hot day. And the Nike Slingshots on a cold blustery day. If you happen to play these clubs on a calm day, the irons all 3-p create a ball trajectory comparable to throwing darts at a large dart board. With the latter, you will swear you are using just a pitching wedge throughout the entire round. It's all about the technological advancement. When Tom Stites created the Slingshots, the idea was to help golfers achieve a ball flight as the pro, long and high. After playing several rounds with these clubs, the slingback bar which lowers the center of gravity does just that, high ball flights = more controllable shots into the green. And trust me, on calm days these clubs, mixed with the soft large sweet spot this technology creates, are an enjoyable experience. Your 3-5 iron will fly higher with these clubs then your own creating a softer landing on the greens. However, just like the hydrogen filled Hindenberg, the conversion of Karl Marx's idea's into social ecnomical policies, and the television spin off of My Big Fat Greek Wedding, the idea of creating a high trajectory ball flight shot after shot isn't a well adaptable principal in all conditions. You can try like I did and swing to hit a lower shot, but the LCG created in Stites's easy hitting irons works against you forcing the ball to go even higher. This makes the workability of the irons as responsive as your roommate at 4am after all night drinking binge. But like I said before, this is a story of two clubs. Too most, the ability to hit the ball high off of the 3-5 will add yards to their game and take shots of their score. However, if they get stuck on a windy day, it's a big YANG to their ying. All in all, I like these clubs that I bought. Every shot comes down soft with little roll. Already I have increase my GIR's on average by three more per round and lowered my putting(you can take the higher club when you know it won't roll off the back of the green) And I'm working hard with these clubs to qualify for the US Public Links. But I tell you, I'm going to have trouble winning the British. Customer Service If you happen to go to Myrtle Beach, go to Golf Dimensions. They are right across the street from another MB golf mecca Martin's Golf and Tennis World. I am left handed and trying to find clubs for me is very tough. GD pehaps has the largest array of left handed clubs(to hit) out of any store I have yet visted. The trick is, don't be bashful. Take the club off the shelf and hit it. It's that simple(except you have to get it taped up, which is a drag) They do fitting, too. And with them being across the street from their rival, there is a good price war going on to the customer's favor. This how I got my clubs so cheap. Went to the shop yesterday to check ot the CPR ironwood to replace My Hogan Edge 3-iron and saw that there was a used set. I decided to give them a try while testing the CPR and, lo and behold, the CPR is still in the shop, but the irons are now in my bag. WIth the 2 dzn or so balls I was given to test the CPR, I hit 2 bad shots, one with the CPR and one w/ the slingshot 3-iron when I tried to really give it 110% on my last shot. Even with my sometimes-over-the-top swing, most of the balls went straight or had a slight fade, but nothing like the usual left to right moovement I had with my Hogans. Havent taken them to the course yet, but if the driving range curse (good on the range, bad on the course) doesn't get me, I may break 90 for the 2nd time in my life. If I do break 90, then I'd give these irons 5 stars... Customer Service I bought mine used so I havent had to deal w/ Nike yet. Purchased these on Ebay after trying them out in a local store.. Ball stops dead but the stiff steel shafts still have a soft tip, i guess for height. Am replacing them with Rifle Project X shafts. I consistantly hit a fad with the Nike shafts..unless i jump on it then it goes left. Love the height and stopping on the greens which are bermuda, i just need stiffer tips |

What can i say these irons are great. They have extreamly good feel and trajectory and myself having to play blades since i started, these make it alot easier and forgiving. I tried several differnt sets including cleveland ta5 and mizuno mx 15 and the nike slingshot came out on top easily, even out of the rough hitting the long irons is a breeze i have gotta to admit are a bit big in terms of the head size but it justs takes a little time to get use to. Overall bloody good irons i reccomend these to anyone from 100 shooters to scratch golfer these are the best. Similar Products Used: Mizuno mx 15 , Ben Hogan apex plus and Cleveland Ta5 |

Ummmmm yeah, these rock. They feel great. I've been using 845 knockoffs my entire golfing career and the difference is huge. The trajectory is much higher and every shot feels much more solid. I haven't had a chance to judge distance because is it too cold out, but I know they're at least as long as my old set. I'm going back to get a 2 iron because the 3 is so easy to hit... These are definatly worthy of a test run. |

Nike Slingshot - Stiff Steel
Played my first 18 hole round with these new clubs and shot a 90, that is about 8 strokes better than I have ever done. My previous set was TA Silver Scots, which were given to me by my brother in law. I have been playing for 12 months so this is an huge acomplishment for me. I get about 10-15 more yards per club with the SS. I got the stiff steel shafts to keep it in the middle, and so far so good. I am even hitting the longer irons with hight and control. I would definetly recommend these to anyne trying to improve. I tested the TM Rac Os which also felt great, but I am glad I finally decided on the SS. Customer Service Never needed |

Super forgiving and accurate. I have been searching for the right irons for a long time and I think I have found them. Smaller head than I was used to (they replaced Pings in my bag), however, confindence built after I stuck it next to the pin several times. Cavity and slingshot back creates an interesting Swish sound (a little hard to get used to at first). Can't work them as much as as I would like but who can complain about straight everytime. Recommend for anyone looking for a game improvement iron. Similar Products Used: Ping i3s, Cobras, Adams idea. |
