Mizuno MX 25 Irons

Mizuno MX 25 Irons

DESCRIPTION

With the MX-25TM iron, the Mizuno Product Development team took on the task of greatly improving upon the MX-23TM, Mizuno's #1 selling iron of all time. This feat was achieved by utilizing the new Grain Flow Forged® 1025E Pure Select mild carbon steel and engineering a wide, deeper, and longer H.E.M.I COGTM Pocket Cavity for the lowest and deepest COG in a one piece forged iron. The MX-25TM iron delivers a massive sweet area along with the new three dimensional "X" Back cavity pad for maximum forgiveness on off-center hits and increased solid feel. No other iron can offer this game improvement technology while maintaining the solid, soft feel that comes only from a Mizuno Grain Flow Forged® Iron.

I’m about a 7-9 handicap index. I shoot in the high 70s - low 80s. My irons have been Mizuno MP60s, which I love. A good friend is a 1 handicap and told me he just switched to the MX-25s and he highly recommended them over the MP-60s. Well after hearing about this for 3 months he finally came into town and I got to hit his clubs.

Wow.

I am switching to these next week. The MP-60s are great clubs but the way they feel when you hit them perfectly? That’s the way these feel on almost every hit. Just amazing. About a club longer, great ball flight, just a very, very impressive club. Can work in either direction, adjust trajectory, can’t wait to get my own set.

I went to be professionally fitted for the first time in my 30+ years of playing golf. I was like a kid blowing up a firecracker for the first time. I was so excited! Nevermind the $75.00 I had to shell out for the privilege. Anyway, I originally had my heart set on some Taylor Made R7's since my previous clubs were Firesoles. Inexplicably, my pro put a Mizuno MX25 in my hands to start things off. I said, "What's this?!" He said, "Shut up and hit it!" So I did. I was so shocked with the beautiful result I didn't know whether to cry or laugh. Buttery feeling is used so often in these reviews, but buttery is the only suitable word for what I felt. My shots went high and long. Now I know what it feels like to be Tiger Woods. The game has become so much simpler now!

Holy Crap these are good! If you are a high handicapper (high 80s) like me looking for forgiving irons - you should seriously consider these. Not only are they extremely forgiving, but they feel pure as anything when you make solid contact. It gives me a slight erection hitting the 3-iron off a tee - im joking but i wouldn't be surprised if one of you would. The COG is set way back on long irons and I feel like superman hitting of the tee. The short irons are adjusted to maintain superior feel around the greens.

Irons are a "feel" thing though, so you can't just go by my word. I went to a Golfer's Warehouse and hit every type of iron for hours. Titlesit, Cleveland, TaylorMade, Nike, etc (believe me my girlfriend was getting bored). I was so excited and wanted to buy a more well-known "american" brand name like Callaway or Titleist, but I could not find a club that felt as well as the MX-25's. I was forced by their sheer quality to buy them and it was the best decision i made. I recommend these for anyone - but make sure you hit all types of irons before you purchase!

btw, ebay has great deals - i picked up mine for $450 brand new

remember don't be partial to certain clubs just because of brand name! - the callaways and titleist were so overpriced compared to these it made me want to vomit!

ENJOY

I have bought these clubs to replace my good old Ping Zing 2 Iron set. It is really amazing how much more control I got with those clubs. They were the 100% right choice for me. It is easy to get the balls nicely off the ground and at the same time keep nice control over the ball trajectory.

I am extremely happy with this choice and I can fully endorse the many positive review comments here.

Here is the configuration I bought:
Model: MX-25
Dexterity: Right hand
Set make-up: 4-PW
Length: +1/2 inch
Loft: Standard
Lie angle: +1 degree upright
Grip: Mizuno M-21 .58 Round
Size: Standard
Shaft: Dynamic Gold
Flex: S300

I am sure I will have a lot of fun with those clubs on the courses. They won't hold as excuse for a bad score :-)

I got an excellent price for new custom made clubs from golfseller on ebay.

Have had for 3 weeks. 1st round was an 83 as I hadn't adjusted to them yet. Second round was a 69! Hit straight iron shots all day. The only issue was I kept overshooting the flagsticks because the irons are a club longer than my old ones (Cleveland CG2's). I have the Dynalite Gold SL S300 shafts and they are absolutely the best shafts I've ever tried. When you combine the shaft with absolutely the best iron I've ever used, you've got onehellofa club! The are reasonably forgiving, have outstanding feel, and are excellent around the greens. Once you've gone Mizuno, you'll never go back.

Just purchased this set of Irons for 2007. Haven't played them yet because of the cold weather. But, have taken them to the driving range and got some solid contact out of them.

I used this website to gage what kind of upgrade in Irons I was looking for. Mizuno is known for their fairway woods and Irons. So I thought to look around at their models.

I went with these over the blades, because of the feeling when contact was made with the ball. You can get solid contact with these and they are easier to use than the blades.

Not cheap. But, Worth the investment. If I can take good care of these Irons they could last a lifetime.

Returning to the game after a 15 year break I've been playing with some Titleist DCI 962s that I picked up on ebay. I got on well with them, but I recently decided to invest in some new gear, so I got measured up for the mx-25s.
Being 6'4" tall but having always played with standard clubs, I thought it would take me a while to get used to the longer and stiffer shafts and more upright lie , but first time out I shot a 78.
The ball flight is beautiful - really towering. They look great behind the ball and feel fantastic.

I have had these clubs for 4 months.Custom fitted with Nippon regular shafts and Lamkin crossline grips.

Once I had got used to the larger clubhead I really started to appreciate the engineering behind these clubs. I have a smooth swing and the Nippon shafts give a beautiful penetrating flight. We all mis-hit sometimes but these clubs are so forgiving the bad shots never seem quite so bad even on the 3 iron.

They are probably best suited to low/ mid handicappers as there is not much offset, but the way the club sits behind the ball on the long irons is very confidence boosting. I am in my early sixties and was using a rescue club instead of long irons, now I am happy to hit a 3 or 4 iron knowing I will get a good result with a lower, powerful shot. ( I play on a course where we get alot of strong winds)

There are many good sets of sticks around and to be quite honest if one selects the right shaft there is not alot to choose between any of them performance wise. But when addressing the ball one has to look down and feel confident, these Mizuno's give you that feeling.

Customer Service

Sent clubs back for a lie adjustment after 2 weeks. They were back within a week with no charge

A truly awesome set of clubs.I purchased these for a recent golf holiday. They have a lovely feel and set up,they provide great distance & accuracy with even a relatively effortless swing . They are pretty forgiving-& yet if you catch one flush in the sweet spot(which seemed to be most of the time!)it feels wonderful.I'm not a big hitter by any means but as an example I put my 5-iron approach of 175m(about 190 yds) to within 12ft of the pin at Monte Mayor.
(and proceeded to leave what would have been only my 2nd ever eagle putt 1 inch short...ahhh)
I thoroughly recommend these clubs.I'm so pleased I got them.

Customer Service

They were custom-fitted at Mizuno's centre at Pachesam. The gentleman(Mike I believe) was friendly courteous, knowledgeable, took time to show me the various flight paths and interpretations of the technology etc.(Perhaps most important of all he watched the outcome of dozens of shots on the range to help fine tune the choice of club/shaft etc.) (in my case Dynalite with one extra grip)Not pushy at all, and I was only too pleased to purchase. And jolly pleased I did.
