these are my first "real" set of irons, i had cheap ones before and you can definatly tell the differnence with these, they just feel so comfortable and yes they are frogiving. I have to say i just love the 6 iron and 9iron, and when i swing with these clubs i always feel great, before with my old clubs i felt unsure wheter my shot was staying on the course, best 300 quid i spent, and go great with cobra x speed driver and hippo hex woods.

Wow I bought these to take my game to the next level and they sure have done that. These clubs are very forgiving with miss hits. I had graphite shafted clubs and these are steel that took a few rounds to get used to. The only complaint is the grips felt small so I regripped with winn cords.

If you want forgiving straight shots this is the set to have. I bought the steel shafts that took a little getting used to. I had graphite shafts on last set of clubs. I had to change stance a little but was no problem. The only fault for me was the grips are to small but will wait for winter to change them

I had a 10 year old set (Palmer Statesman) that was working fine, but my friends were making fun of them. I always liked the look and feel of Mizuno clubs, so when I saw a bargain on Rock Bottom Golf, I bought them. I have the graphite stiff shafts.

The first thing I noticed is that the clean look and the manufacturing quality. The second thing I noticed was that they're heavier than my old clubs. I needed to change my swing a bit, because the weight pushed them towards me and I hit on the toe often. It took a few rounds, but I'm used to them now.

I like them a lot. Hits on the sweet spot feel beautiful, and the ball goes straight with a nice boring trajectory. Mis-hits also go straight (that is, without a lot of sidespin), but not necessarily towards the target.

I didn't gain any distance over my old clubs, maybe even lost some.

I am a 20 year old golfer who has been golfing since i was about 8. I have always been an ok player shooting around the 90's here lately. I was using 845s and thought that i loved them, until i bought the Mizuno MX-17's. Anyone looking for a club who is going to help their game this is the one for you.

I have a real good friend who is a golf pro and i asked him his opinion on the club because he also hits Mizuno's (not MX-17). I told him it is supposed to be a game improving club and asked him what that meant. He said that the way the weights are set up it is going to hit the ball straighter even if you miss hit it. (and it does, its amazing) So i asked him what the downfall was, if your shots go straighter, because i thought that was the hardest part in golf. I figured you couldn't hit them as far, but i was wrong, i am hitting them farther that my 845s. He told me the only downfall to them is that you can't fade them or slice them as easy as blades. You can but you have to put a lot more into it.

Here is an honest review that i can promise you didn't come from someone trying to sell their product. I have played with them 3 rounds now and shot 89, 82, 83.

Read all the reviews about these irons and had to go and get some (especially as they were on offer!)I've only been playing for 3 months so I'm definately no expert but 8 G.I.R's the first round played with the MX-17's. And in very wet conditions. These clubs inspire confidence and you know that when you connect, the ball is going exactly where you aimed it. However even if you dont hit the sweet-spot the ball still goes straight and a good distance. These have to be one of the most forgiving clubs on the market. Even the long irons seem easy to hit, Par 4's where I would normally get the driver out were almost reachable with 3 and 4 iron but with so much more control. The only slight issue I have with these clubs is the pitching wedge (and this is just my opinion!) I think it has too much loft compared with other sets I've tried, it seems to play more like a gap wedge than a pitching wedge, but like I said, it could be just me.
If you are a beginner or a golfer trying to improve, do yourself a favour and buy a set of MX-17's!

Model Reviewed: Mizuno MX-17 irons

These irons are great. I took a ten-year layoff from the game but started playing again this year. I originally bought a set of Adams GT2's with graphite shafts. I liked them compared to my old Tommy Armours, but these Mizunos are in another league. They lay down square to the target and are a very appealing looking club. Well hit shots feel like a million bucks. Off-center or thin shots will play surprisingly well. The regular steel shafts flex nicely and have a GREAT feel on the shorter irons. The grips are pliable but not squishy. All in all, a great club at a very good price.
