Mizuno MP-57 Irons

Mizuno MP-57 Irons

DESCRIPTION

The New MP-57TM irons are a crowning achievement in the evolution of MIZUNO's award-winning Grain Flow Forging® and Cut MuscleTM technologies. The Product Development team undertook the task of making the MP-57's the first MP iron with a Full Cavity, resulting in a significantly larger sweet area than any other iron in the history of the MP line. Along with increased forgiveness, the MP-57's produce a slightly higher ball flight in the long irons, and a mid trajectory in the scoring irons. They also deliver the solid feel and shot making ability that the MP iron player craves. Most importantly, the MP-57's achieve all these playing aspects, yet in a classic head profile that appeals to better players.

The ideal combination of solid feel and workability, with unbelievable forgiveness, make the MP-57s the most playable MP irons ever.

Features

* First ever Full Cavity MP iron for increased forgiveness with a reinforcing muscle pad for enhanced feel.
* Innovative Cut MuscleTM design provides ideal COG location, perfect trajectory, enhanced solid feel, and complete ball control.

The mp 57's are a great iron, although you must have a consistant swing to really reap the benefits these irons have in store. distance wise they are unbelievable! I now hit a wedge 150 instead of 135 with ap2's

Well I am going to have to be different. I went from a set of standard R7 irons to these and it was to big of a jump. I know I could "Hang in there" and "Become a better ball-striker" but with a full time+ job and family, I just want to go play and have fun. To me these were alot more tough to be consistant with and mis-hits are Pretty Darn penal. Most of my buddies say I putt and drive the ball like a single digit and that irons are my weak point. I tried for two months and then have thrown the Mizunos back on Ebay after driving my 14 handicap up to a 19 just from the club change. I have now gone back to a Middle of the road, game improvement Iron ( will not say which as I am not here to endorse clubs) and shot a 13 stroke-over adjusted handicap score with only one trip to the range with the new clubs. What I take away from this experience is that these clubs are for either a 5-9 Hcp. or a higher Hcp. player who is a great ball striker. IMHO

I bought these irons to replace a set of MP30s. This was definitely a great idea. I'm not striking them great just yet, but I am hitting them better than the MP30s. One reason may be due to a different shaft. My MP57s have Project X 5.0 vs the DG S300 in the MP30s.

The MP57s are easy to hit. Heck, I'm not even afraid to pull out the 4 iron on the fairway when I need to layup.

The feel of the irons is great. I recommend to anyone wanting to take their game to the next level. Of course, practice will be important.

Got these used off e-bay for $320, and flat-out love them. Like everyone else says, hit it in the sweet spot and they're like butter, miss and you know it but not too penalizing. Very consistent distances. Maybe 5 yds shorter than my old irons (Mac v-foil 454 w/rifles), but more reliable. Dropped 5 strokes 1st round out.

I had been playing off and on with some Cobra SS clubs for a few years and after hitting the 57s at the range they were too sweet to pass up (of course I bought them on eBay 475.00.) I thought they were too much club until I hit them. The sweet spot and forgiveness is bigger than advertised. I gained 15 yrds per club and you really feel in control even on misits. Started playing from the blues just so I can hit these irons more often and I actually score better. Last but not least, they are the hottest looking irons offered, period. I almost bought iron covers...almost.

These irons live up to the hype - big time! I got them a week ago and was already shooting in the low 80's. I have since broken 80 3 times and these irons played a big part. They are true when struck well and the feel and workability is superb. I can highly recommend them!

I'm not sure my review will add to anything that has been said, but it will continue to make a strong case for these irons. I had been playing the MP-30's for about 5 years and for the most part loved them to death. They made me a much better ball striker for sure, they just were too punitive with misses. Tried the MP-60's when they came out and just didn't fall in love with them. The MP-57's have been awesome. My weakness was in my irons, and now it's my strength. I have gone from a 7 HC to a 3.4 (currently) and the only thing that has changed is my irons. I am even playing less these days. I strongly recommend these clubs to anyone.

The MP-57 irons were the best irons I have hit. Before these clubs I had the Ping G5 irons. I hated those because they were incnsistant.

These are outstanding irons that would benefit most golfers with indexes well into the double digits. I previously played the Mizuno MP 30 blades which are very nice. But even as a single digit player, I found them unforgiving to the point that badly hit shots were a near total waste. The 30s due give a lot of feedback, but with the 57s you'll still know when you are a groove or 2 off without the sting of a miss hit blade. What you will get is considerably more forgiveness which will translate into several shots a round being salvagable rather than the disasters they would be with a blade. I'm always a bit mystified by reviewers who go on about the looks of their irons and claim to want a lot of "workability." The latter comes from knowing your swing; most of us would just like to hit the ball straight and the 57s are excellent for that even with slight miss hits. The sweet spot being distinctly bigger than the blades. Most players would do well to note that PGA pros increasingly play cavity backs or hybrids between blades and cavity backs--there's a reason for that. Golf is about consistency and these irons go a long way toward reaching that goal. The ball flight is high, but not overly so and it's quite easy to alter trajectory with these clubs. A pleasure in the hand and at impact, there irons are beautifully weighted. I did have these clubs fit and it turns out I take a stock club (with the stock steel shaft) with just a little added length. But fitting is easily obtained and worth it. I would enthusiastically recommend these irons to golfers serious about improving their ball striking.
