Mizuno MP-57 Irons

Mizuno MP-57 Irons

DESCRIPTION

The New MP-57TM irons are a crowning achievement in the evolution of MIZUNO's award-winning Grain Flow Forging® and Cut MuscleTM technologies. The Product Development team undertook the task of making the MP-57's the first MP iron with a Full Cavity, resulting in a significantly larger sweet area than any other iron in the history of the MP line. Along with increased forgiveness, the MP-57's produce a slightly higher ball flight in the long irons, and a mid trajectory in the scoring irons. They also deliver the solid feel and shot making ability that the MP iron player craves. Most importantly, the MP-57's achieve all these playing aspects, yet in a classic head profile that appeals to better players.

The ideal combination of solid feel and workability, with unbelievable forgiveness, make the MP-57s the most playable MP irons ever.

Features

* First ever Full Cavity MP iron for increased forgiveness with a reinforcing muscle pad for enhanced feel.
* Innovative Cut MuscleTM design provides ideal COG location, perfect trajectory, enhanced solid feel, and complete ball control.
* Exclusive Grain Flow Forged®, 1025E Pure Select mild carbon steel provides the ultimate soft, solid, consistent feel.
* Durable Double nickel chrome plated finish.
* Modified U-grooves produce the ideal spin rate, for maximum playability in all conditions.
* Rolled leading edge, cambered mid-sole, and rolled trailing edge deliver consistent striking ability from all types of lies.

all revies were good, but I need some help advice from someone out there.I have used Mizuno Pro T-Zoids irons for 10 year. Once I hit a forged club the first time there was no going back. I'm about a 12 handicap by they way. I bought these irons used, and played pretty well with them for years. I recently discovered that the S400 shafts in them were very heavy and extra stiff. Instead of reshafting them, I went trying new clubs. New Mizunos were a little out of my price range, so I bought the Adams A4's. they are a beautiful club, forgiving and forged. I have them taped up because I'm not sure I'm keeping them and haven't gotten burned on many sets before.
I love the 7-w. They have a similar feel to the Mizuno's and I hit it them 20 yds. farther!..but for some reason I don't get near the feel or performance from the 5-3 hybrid, and have a mental block with even hitting the grandpa hybrids even though most pros are hitting them now.
Traded the Adams for Taylor Made Burner 09's. they get rave reviews, but after playing with them twice, hated them. They are huge heads and don't help me in any way, and are more of a super game improvement club. If I have to hit some club that makes you naucious looking down at it and looks like a childs club...to play decent, I might take up gardening.
and to boot, I sold my babies to my best friend who is killing the ball with them and starting to kick my A$$!
dilemma.....get the A4's back and learn how to hit the hybrids, or get some used MP 52's or 57's. wonder if any of you tried all three of these clubs? What are the differences between 52's and 57's. I'd love the new 58's, but don't have an extra $900 bucks laying around.
Help!!! I need to just make a decision and go with it before I have to sign divorce papers.

I'm an equipment junkie and I've tried lots of stuff. I picked up a used set of these a couple of months ago. My game is just outside the "player's" category of irons, but I wanted to hit these every now and then and see how my game progresses. I am extremely happy with my purchase. I don't find these clubs to be hard to hit at all. Granted, I hit hybrids for everything above a 6, but I find these irons to be surprisingly forgiving for a club in this category. Distance control is where I see a big difference. Feel is superb, and I have no trouble working the ball in either direction (compared to my Ping G15s which I have to coax a draw out of). Also, Very easy to control trajectory. I shoot in the mid-low 80's generally, so my consistency is not the greatest, but on my good days, these clubs make it a great day.

Bought these clubs over Xmas and took them to the range today. I was impressed with the consistent distance of each club and off centre hits were not bad either - slight loss of distance but not too much dispersion. All the talk about quality of Mizuno clubs is for real.

I had been using a set of Callaway X-18 for the last few years and I have been looking to upgrade my irons. The X-18’s with Uniflex shafts are great clubs but I thought I might be outgrowing them.

A little background on how I got interested in the Mizuno’s. I was playing the Blue Course at Bethpage in August and one of the guys in the foursome had a set of MP-57’s in his bag. When we were on the tee box at the 17th hole, a par 3, I asked if I could use his 6 iron. I teed a ball up and hit it pure – I instantly liked how the club felt and the ball trajectory was really nice. I was sold on these clubs right then and there!

For the last couple of months I have been looking on eBay for a set of MP-57’s. Last week I won a brand new set (3-PW) for $425 including shipping. The transaction with bobsbettergolf (an eBayer with great feedback ratings) was flawless and I received them within 2 days.

I played with them on Thanksgiving morning and again a few days later. They are beautifully made, look great at address and have an amazing feel to them. My set has the Dynamic Gold S300 shafts and I am really pleased with these clubs.

Have played with these irons for about 3 months now. I am very satisfied with the purchase. Shot dispersion has been tighter and my length has increased about 5 to 10 yards per club. Went with the Dynamic Gold R300 shafts. Note to all of you MP57 players out there. Take the clubs in after evry season and have the lofts and lies checked. These are forged club heads which are softer then your standard stainless head. The MP57's through use from impact will tweak their own heads. I would highly recommend this. I have had other forged irons and have this done every spring. If you golf between 4 to 5 times a week I would recommend having them checked at the half season mark. Cost is 5 to six bucks a club and well worth it. Unfortunately I live in Wisconsin and only have maybe another 2 weeks to play. Overall love the sticks but still getting use to them.

I recently received my MP57s. I'm so impressed with the quality of the build. Each head is flawless, and the chrome is so well done. When I address the ball, the 57 doesn't scare you off because you know it's got some 'blade' qualities. I hit them and when it's right, the ball hisses off into the distance with that spin sound you can't but love. I bought mine with the DGS300s and believe the shafts are a big part of why I like them so much. I'm retiring my Ping G10s and look forward to many rounds with the MP57s. I went to the range and then a few days later played a round. I shot a 41 on the front and a 47 on the back. The back was just not that good because it was hotter than hell here in Phoenix and I just got tired too soon. I've regained distance lost with the G10s and the flight is more penetrating then parachuting link the Pings. I came close to reshafting the G10s, but after taking them back for swingweighting changes to PING, which is a fantastic company by the way, I decided to try a change in club. I've had my eye on Mizuno products for a long time as I think they're the prettiest clubs out there... classic looking with game improvement qualities. I'll keep the Pings because I may need them when I get old...! ;-)

I got back in to serious golfing this spring, after not playing for nearly 10 years. I took a set of 6 lessons and am now playing to about a 10 handicapp. I wanted to move from my old Ping Eye 2's to a forged type of club. I read all the reviews, did my homework, and decided on the Mizuno MP 57's. I picked up a set on Ebay for $400, in excellent condition, they look new.
My review: I absolutely love the clubs! I'm a pretty decent ball striker, and most of my shots feel so solid and pure. The ball flight is great, not too high or low, just right. My miss hits turn out just fine. No noticable distance loss, and not too far off line.
The clubs look so good at address, like a blade, and feel so much better than my Ping Eye 2's. I have alot of good to say about the Eye 2's, and recommend them to any 8+ handicapper. IMHO, the MP57's just feel so much better.
I would say these clubs would be great for a 15 handicapper and better, all the way to scratch.
Highly recommended.
