I LOVE THESE CLUBS. They are easily a club longer than my old titelist. They have the great feel of the the forged but still have enough forgiveness. Plus they are about the best looking club I have ever seen. I play every day and shoot in the mid to low 70s, previously I shot in the high to mid 70s but these clubs helped my game tremendously. The only thing I would do to change them is to put in some Winn grips. Customer Service Haven't used yet but hey, what can you do Similar Products Used: Titelist DCI-762,original |

My MP-30s have been a religious experience for me. These are, perhaps the perfect iron. As advertized, they are accurate, workable, forgiving, and feel better than sex when struck. They impart the perfect amount of backspin (for me, anyway) and promote a boring trajectory. Every club seems to produce shots that have about the same height off the ground at apex, maximizing distance without sacrificing distance control. I'm baffled by some of the negative reviews herein. I suspect that the negative reviewers either did not find the club suitable to their game, were not fit properly, or chose the wrong shafts. I'm also confused by complaints about distance. Personally, I don't care how far they go compared to other models. I want accuracy and consistency from club to club. That said, however, I find the MP-30s to be half a club longer than my current set. Here are some dos and don'ts if you're considering these clubs: -DO NOT USE RIFLE FLIGHTED SHAFTS in these clubs. Mizuno engineers have designed these clubs to promote a boring trajectory. Rifle Flighted shafts actually work against you. Mizuno has confirmed this with me via email. -DO GET FITTED BY A PRO. -DO EXPECT PURE JOY IF YOU ARE A FINE IRONS PLAYER. -DO NOT EXPECT PURE JOY IF YOU ARE A CRAPPY IRONS PLAYER. If you follow this advice, I believe you'll find these clubs are among the finest made. I can't promise that they'll fit your game, but I can guarantee flawless craftmanship and near perfect consistency from club to club. Customer Service My customer service experiences with Mizuno have been good, but definitely not great. On one hand, they are very helpful when selecting the best club for you. Their reps are very patient and provide good, solid information. On the other hand, they have the worst web site in golf and are slow to answer email. Mizuno needs to overhaul their web presence in a big way. They could also use the web to deliver better customer service. Better, more complete product information, news, registration, fun stuff, and some content that changed more than once a freakin century would make the experience of buying Mizunos more enjoyable. I din't care for these irons. They didn't go as far as my old Wilson Fat Shafts and were harder to hit. The shafts were stiff, and maybe I would be happier with regulars. I must say however that the 3 and 4 irons were terrific. I only wish the others were as nice. 4 stars out of five. I'm now waiting for the Mizuno mx20s to come in to replace the mp30s. Customer Service So far so good. They let me try the mp30s for 30 days, which is a good deal because I didn't like them. Similar Products Used: Wilson fat shafts. |

First of all, I would like to point out that my poor scoring is mostly due to a terrible short game (from 100 yards in). If I could pitch/chip/putt better I would easily shoot an average of 85. What I am trying to say is that I tend to hit my irons pretty well, even my 3-iron. OK, these clubs are GREAT. First of all, they are absolutely gorgeous. The design of these clubs- a cavity back/blade hybrid, is interesting but visually pleasing. Second, they are a little more difficult to hit that my old irons (Taylor made 320 irons). Sweet spot is a little smaller, and the 3 iron gets a little inconsistent sometimes, but I am sure that is more to do with me. But when you hit the ball right, it feels like you hit nothing at all. There is no feeling like hitting it pure. These clubs are great for me because since I know that they are less forgiving, I need to focus on my set up and swing mechanics in order to make good contact. I have actually improved my game with these irons because of this. I shot a quick 9 hole round with these irons only 2 weeks after I got them and ended up 3 over par after nine, which is the best that I have ever hit. The irons were brilliant, allowing be to hit onto most of the greens in regulation. The ones I missed I did not miss by much. Overall, a great set of irons. Perhaps a little expensive, but I love these clubs. |

First of all, I am a HUGE Mizuno fan. I have had COMP EZ, MP33, etc. I had these irons ordered with Rifle 6.0 shafts and corded grips. I took them to a range when I first received them and really liked them. As time went on, I noticed the long(er) irons VERY VERY hard to hit. I have a set of 33's that I found the longer irons 2,3,4 much easier to hit. I thought I was doing something wrong with my swing so I brought out the 33's and compared them with the 30's. The 33's were much easier to hit! I called Mizuno and spoke with James in customer service. (Great help) He explained to me that the 30's have a VERY high center of gravity/sweet spot so that they can produce a more boring flight. (also makes them harder to hit) He also told me that the 33's are as easy or easier to hit because they have a low center of grvity to get the ball airborn. Overall the irons (30's) are consistent (5-PW) but I found them NOT forgiving, and very harsh on miss-hits. (not for the weaker player) Great feel when struck perfect, but when you are off a little bit, LOOK OUT! I am not a hack by all means. I usually shoot between 78-82. I would suggest these to a VERY LOW hdcp player, not the average guy! To me they play like last generation's blades, not cavity backs at all! They are still in my bag, but I am looking at other options. Customer Service Great. Similar Products Used: Everything. |

Always been a Ping guy. Wanted to change to forged. Paid 799, bought during a Mizuno demo day. Included 3-PW, custom fitting/order, Rifle shafts (6.5), and a free wedge -Gap Raw Black Ox eventually received second wedge, see service. I don’t have any distance issues with these if anything when hit correctly they fly further than my Pings, probably because the trajectory is much lower. They are definitely not as forgiving but the feel and control are excellent. Chose Mizuno over Titleist because they have a better rep with forged clubs and the service from the Mizuno sales rep at the demo day was better than Titleist's rep I delt with. I thought the Titleist were good when I tried them. Just like the look and rep of Mizuno better. Didn't feel I had the game yet for Muscle backs. The 30s are good comprise. As for the Wedges they are easier to hit than my Cleveland’s but don’t feel quite as nice. Customer Service Excellent! The best test is when there is a problem. The order had the wrong shafts and was late. The pro shop gave me a second wedge (Miz. Raw black ox 58) with the blessing from the Mizuon rep and Mizuno rushed the correct set in 4 working days. Never happy when you don't get what you're promised. But the manager at the pro shop and Sales rep stood by the product and made things right. Similar Products Used: Own Ping Eye 2, Ping Zings. Tried out MP-33, Titleist 690s & 990s. Also tried Ping-I/3+ Blades as well as Ping I/3 blades; althought they were never really in the running. |

Mizuno MP-30, long irons
I am a bit suprised by the reviews below, as I really have enjoyed my MP-30 long irons (mid and short are MP-33s). I find them longer and sweeter than all of the other premium brands I have tried as well, and I have tried almost all of them. I find that they give a mid to high ball flight with plenty of spin, and feedback and forgiveness seems more than adequate. I am not saying I am better than the people below me, as my scores show I am not, just that these can work very differently with different types of swings. |

Bought these 2 weeks ago and can't tell you how disapointed I was with them. I'm no hacker (4 handicap) but these clubs felt very unforgiving and difficult to hit. Have used Comp EZ's for the past 3 years and changed on a wim as these clubs looked so good. DONT BE FOOLED!!!! I lost 1 to 1 1/2 clubs in distance and had no real feed back where I was striking the ball on the club face. Even the wedge had no feel and Iv'e been using Mizuno TP wedges all my life. I used them for 2 rounds only and that was enough to decide these were not for me.Unfortunatly I had traded in my EZ's but have since managed to get another set on the net. Expensive wim as I lost all round!!! Lesson learnt, if it isn't broke don't fix it. |

They say that good things take time and I guess their right. I have been playing Titleist 962s for some 6 to 7 years. I have liked them but,it took 2 shaft changes and adjustments to lofts to get them where I felt the trajectories should be going to. Not where they should be but in the right direction. You will see where I am going to with this thread shortly. The complaints I had with the 962s were distance control and too much spin. The irons were 1/2 club short on average from anything I have tried or played. They generated way too much spin and caused me a lot of lost 20s on slow tracks. One day I found a set of Mizuno T-Zoid IIs in a shop's used section. I took them out and played a round with them. My God! I have been working too hard. These sticks had beautiful trajectory and good distance. Not super from rough lies but OK. I saw the new MP-30s and bought them after an hour on the simulator. I don't trust these sims but, the trjectory looked similar to the T-zoid so I bit. First Round: 7 iron into a narrow but long green. 165 yards pin high 4 feet left of stick. #3 8 iron fade to shallow green, need a release hit... got it. Birdie. #4 Par 3 uphill 189 yards: 5 iron pin high 10 feet right of stick. And on and on. I finished the day with a 74 and that came from a snap hook OB with my driver. The MP-30s are solid, they work the ball very nicely left or right; you just have to think it. Ball release onto greens for me is just right, not to much back bite, just enough. Toe shots and heel shots loose about 5 yards worst case but, still keep you in knife fighting range. (they don't leak bad) Distance is fine; each stick is running about 8 to 10 yards difference when you hit it on the screws. Feel is well,,, Forged (like heaven) They are expensive but my game is worth it. Sole design is slick. uneven lies don't scare me anymore. I see no reason to eve look at any iron again.. honestly! These sticks breed confidence and reward you nicely. My buddies are not calling for our 5 dollar Nasau on weekends anymore, I have to call them. Nice job Mizuno. IT took me 7 years to get my act together and play a real club. Now, a 69 is there in my future, I can feel it. Customer Service Pretty good. I had my sticks custom ordered for lie angle and length.... it took 2 weeks. Similar Products Used: Mizuno T-Zoid Pros, Titleist 962s, Hogan Apex Blades. |
