Great irons. After looking at a variety of irons, I had basically narrowed it down to 2 sets: Mizuno Comp EZs and Ping i3 O-size. Each had their own advantages with very few disadvantages. Be sure to also read my review of the Ping i3 O-size. I ultimately chose the Mizuno Comp EZ for the following reasons: 1) the feel of hitting a soft forged head just right and flush is just incredible. You just know by feel alone that you've hit a great shot, even without looking at the ball's trajectory; 2) while the cavity back makes the Comp EZ more forgiving than other forged irons, it is NOT a total game improvement iron like the Callaway x-14 or the Ping i3 (in other words, the Comp EZ forces you to learn how to swing the club better, unlike total game improvement irons that make hackers look like pros); 3) these irons look great at address; no clunky, thick lines or toasters at the end of a steel shaft; they look classy and stylish. Try them out and see for youself. Similar Products Used: ping i3, callaway x-14, titleist 990 |

Played forged cavity back for years and decided to take advantage of the "game improvement clubs" and switched to Taylor Burner Oversize. Could never get use to the "clunky" look and lack of feel. Recentley purchased the Mizunos. They have it all. A forged blade like look and feel, yet most of the forgivness of cavity back cast iron. I believe theses sticks are 5-10 yards longer than my Taylor Made's. Sensicore steel shafts are as nice as the Rifles I had on Taylor's. Customer Service Had clubs made 1/2" over, and 2 degree upright. Clubs were in my hand less than 10 days from the date ordered. It's been a very expensive Spring. Bought a set of Maxfli Revolutions and truly loved them Still the prettiest club on the market, but after getting some rounds of golf in, they just weren't as forgiving as I had previously thought on the driving range. Having my mind set on the "blade look" I checked out Mizuno's line of irons (I've always been curious about forged). I hit the Pro IIs well, but I feared I'd get the same result as the Maxflis when standing over the ball in a big skins game from 195 out with a 3 iron in my hand. Finally tried the Comp/EZs. My first thought when I hit these was that it felt like I was cheating, they were so easy to hit, and so forgiving. I had the same confident feeling with the 3 iron in hand as I did with the 7. They don't quite have that "blade look" I so desperately wanted, but they're not fat and ugly either. First time out with the irons I shot an 82 at a very challenging course. When I'm consistently shooting in the high 70s, and low 80s, I'll check those Pro IIs and Revs out again. But for now, I've found the perfect iron for my game. I've been a mid-to-high 80's shooter, my first round with the Comp EZ's, I shot 80..I love them! They bring back memories of my first set of blades (circa 1975, Walter Hagen's), when I was a young pup and thought I was a pretty good golfer. Recent years, I've played 1st generation Big Bertha irons and missed the forged feel and flexibility. |

I can't think of anything else to add to the glowing reviews of these clubs at this site. Feel, distance, looks, etc ... everything my fellow reviewers have said are true !! Now, if only I could get my driving in order, I would be shooting in the 80's. Similar Products Used: Taylor Made Firesoles |

As I was in the market for a new set I bought these clubs after reading the high recommendations on this review site. Folks - you're spot on. Thanks. I tested them on the driving range along with Titleist 990's and - in my mind - there was just no comparison. These have been one of the BEST purchases. These look good, feel beautifully balanced and I'm really enjoying my golf again. The clubs are without doubt most forgiving and I've noticed the whole trajectory of ball flight is better. Perfect. Just perfect... Similar Products Used: None |

Narrowed my search for my irons down to this and the Ping I3 o-size. Hit both on range. Both good clubs, however I feel that the Comp EZ had a better feel and look great. Sensicore shafts are great. Would recommend these to anyone. |

Ok, I finally know why all the "Best" golfers like forged irons. Damn these are nice!! I am not pro but I have been improving steadily over the past year. I have had ever club out there and these are by far the best yet!! If you are not a fairly good balls striker I would look at maybe the SURE irons but if you are a good ball striker wanting to improve to another level, these will really impress you. Excellent feel, feedback, and preformance. LOVE EM!!! Customer Service Haven't used yet Similar Products Used: Titleist 962's, Oversized, Taylor Made LCG's, Supersteels, Callaway X-14s, ect. |
