What can I say - beautiful clubs, and great results. I was in the market for a new set of irons after becoming convinced that my old irons weren't suited to my game. I was using a set of game improvement clubs which didn't inspire much confidence - erratic results and limited distance. I ordered what I thought was the complete set of cavity backs over ebay - when they arrived I was surprised to find that they had in fact sent me the mixed set. I was a little apprehensive about using the blades since everyone tells you they're only for 'better' players (which I most certainly ain't!) and even MacGregor say they're for 0-20 handicappers. Nevertheless, I decided I'd give them a try and, at the price I paid for them, I could always sell them on without losing too much money. Anyway, suffice to say that I shot my best ever score on my regular course on my first round with these. Since then, I've never felt so confident about using my irons. I can even deliberately shape my shots with the blades. Strangely, I actually find the blades easier to use than the cavities - maybe it's just because they're shorter clubs anyway, but I can't go wrong with my 7i upwards. Distance for me is a revelation - I'm hitting the ball 1 to 1.5 clubs longer than with my old set. This is probably down to the excellent rifle 6.0 shafts, which fit my swing much better than my old shafts. Especially on the short irons, you feel you have total control - whereas before my main worry was to keep my shots under control, now I can concentrate on making the ball do what I want it to do. The PW in particular is a joy to use - exquisite feel and control. I'm now considering saving up for the matching SW and LW. All in all these irons feel just as forgiving as my old game improvement set, except for the 3 and 4 iron, on which I notice slightly less forgiveness in off-centre shots, but much more distance and consistency on well-struck shots. I love the look of these clubs - you can instantly tell that they're quality and the confidence that gives me is worth 5-6 shots a round alone. This is a set of irons that I'll be using for a very long time. The only (minor) negative point is the sudden transition from the cavity 6-iron to the blade 7-iron - although distance-wise the transition is smooth the big difference in looks creates a big mental jump for me between the two clubs - I'm sure I'll get used to this however. At the price I paid ($399 for 3-PW, used once, good as new) these are a steal. If you want a great-looking, great-performing set of clubs to fill you with confidence, even if you're a high-handicaper like me, I suggest you give these a try. That's my iron game sorted - now I just need to learn how to hit the fairway from the tee! |

Have had these irons for a couple of weeks now, and played 6 rounds already with them. I had the taylormade LT irons which were very good and thought i would struggle to find better. But then tried the 1025CM's and OH MY GOD. These babies are absoluteley faultless. The long irons are very easy to hit and as for the short irons, i can't begin to say how good they are. The rifle shafts sumplement the set fantastically and send the ball away on a low penetrating flight. On top of this they are without doubt the best looking golf clubs on the planet. All the golfers on my course stop and stare at the irons and comment on how good they look. Cosmetics i must admit are very important to me, sad as it sounds, if a club looks ugly (callaway irons) then it doesn't install any confidence in me, but with these i just know im gonna spank every shot straight at my target. The forging is second to none aswell, even non centre strikes fly straight and feel like i have creamed them. So if you are in the market for some new irons then do yourself a favour and try the Mavgregor 1025CM's, you won't be dissapointed. OK I know it's early days, but WOW these irons are awesome. The 2nd shot I hit on the course was a 7iron from 152m into a strong headwind. I started it a couple of meters right of the Pin & hit a little draw to within 1.5m (missed the putt damnit). I had one of the best Iron days of my life. I am even contemplating now changing the 3-6 to blades as well. I can't believe how accurate & easy it was to work the ball with the bladed irons. It has been many years since I have had forged clubs & blades for that matter. I seriously regret NOT having changed earlier. I hit the Macgregors, the Mizuno Mp-30's, The Nike ProCombo & the Maxfli's. Of all of these the Macgregors & the Mizunos stood out. The Mizunos had the softest feel of the lot, but the Macgregors felt awesome & the workability of the short Irons was exactly what I was looking for & of course the price was much better than the Mizunos. Some say the price is a bit steep for these. I haven't enjoyed striking irons like this for years, so I would have paid more easily!! Seriously give these a try, I am glad I did. Customer Service What can I say. The service I got from the Woodmead Pro Shop was awesome. I would go back over & over. The assitance & friendliness is what service is all about. Thanks Craig. After playing the life out of a set of Tommy Armour 845s irons (1-SW) over the past decade, I decided to try out the new stuff. I was presented with a variety of irons to demo (see others tested in Similar Products Used). After going through the 4, 6, and 8 irons with all test sets, I found the MacGregors to be best suited to my swing and playing style. These clubs have made a dramatic change in the way I golf. Long irons should not be this accurate and easy to hit. The consistent ball flight produced by the clubhead is like clockwork. Off center strikes are as close to on target as I could hope for. Ball flight manipulation/workability (particularly with the muscle back short irons) is also quite consistent. Running chip shots with the mid irons around the green has been an unexpected benefit. The muscle back 7 and 8 iron feel more like putters in this act than my old Anser 2. Working low punches with this set have also proven to be very reliable and allow for the ball to be worked left or right with great ease. The only problem I have experienced is keeping them clean. Worth every penny. Customer Service I have no experience with MacGregor's customer service. However, the patience and helpfulness of the staff at Pro Golf in Louisville, KY was first rate. Okay, I can't really complain about the product but all I will say is that DO NOT by these clubs without the Rifle shaft. I demo'd the Rifle 6.0 and hit them well, but the "pro" suggested I get the Dynamic Gold Lite with Sensicore in s300. It completely changed the swing characteristics. From a pentrating flight to a high arching flight even though I mentioned to the "pro" that I preferred an even lower flight than the Rifle. After discussing the issue with Pete at Pete's golf in Mineola I ordered a new set with Rifle shafts and 2 degrees flat. They are perfect. I would suggest spending the time finding a real club craftsman and not a pro shop that buys the latest swing gizmos produces a printout and says here is what you need. is. Customer Service Great Both sets produced in 1 week |

For 12 years, I used the Tommy Armour 845s, then I switched to the 1025C which are great clubs but I felt they had too much offset and a thick topline. I just got these 1025CMs with Rifle 5.0 shafts this month and first of all, they are great looking clubs, people I play with always remark at the classic design. I had them adjusted to my swing by a pro clubfitter and the results are sweet. Accurate, long and the great feel of forged irons, the PW to 7 Iron blades are not hard to hit at all. I always have a difficulty with my irons but this set has given me new confidence. Great product from MacGregor, I also tried the 690.CB which are very good clubs but I like the 1025CMs better. Customer Service Excellent, had the loft on my 1025Cs adjusted and retouched, free of charge. Similar Products Used: Tommy Armour 845s, MacGregor 1025C and Titleist 690.CB |

Paid that much for the 3-PW, 52 deg and 56 deg wedge. Beautiful set. I made my MP as the benchmark, however when I tried these beauties... Man! I found the long irons especially easy to hit, short irons especially accurate as my MPs Customer Service Not tried yet Similar Products Used: MP-33 |

Best clubs ever hit; especially good vibes with TT DGS300 and great looks. Blades are really accurate and long irons easy enough. I definitely could not handle long blades. If you really want to say something negative, maybe the transition from blade 7 iron to cavityback 6 iron is not exactly perfect. That's compared to Golfsmith Tour Cavity Pro in which the cavity is changing (evolving) thru the whole set. Customer Service Great service, fast turnaround, exactly according specs Similar Products Used: Golfsmith Tour Cavity Pro, Maxfli autralian blade, Mizu MP-14, Titleist 762 and lots of different cavity backs |

Played mizunos in the past for its exceptional feel and balance mp-14/mp-33. Switched to the MacGregor CMs because they actually feel better than mizuno. Never though I'd find a club that felt better, but the MacGregors definitely do. I got custom fitted and ordered directly from MacGregor. The ability to custom grind the clubhead, ie topline, leading edge, etc, is remarkable. The turnaround was only 2 weeks and the craftmanship is excellent. The muscle backs are pure, the semis and cavity backs are wonderful. I was hitting my 5 iron toward the toe (half chrome) and it still went 200 yds! The rifle shafts are also great. I had the shafts adjusted to 6.2 and they produce very consistant distances. Offcenter hits with the muscle backs are about 1/2 club short, but do not produce the massive hand sting associated with blades (possibly due to grips and shafts). There is definitely something to the V-Foil technology because I have a higher softer landing trajectory even with 1* stronger. I would recommend getting custom fitted, and get the clubs custom ground to your visual specs. These clubs feel terrific and help me play my best, even when I'm not feeling my best. Now only if I could putt... Similar Products Used: Mizuno MP-14, Mizuno MP-33, Mizuno Pro-II |
