MacGregor Tourney MT Irons

MacGregor Tourney MT Irons

DESCRIPTION

Made from 304 stainless steel. (nearly as soft as forged carbon) the MT offers similar feel and response to McGregor's handcrafted forged irons. However feature greater forgiveness (and a MUCH lower price tag) than their forged brothers.

Discovered these by accident. Norrowed my choice down to the i3's/TA5's/Apex Edge. The Edge is a nice club but i could not take storage size cavity. The MT's caught my eye at first but after one bucket on the range, i was sold. Hands down (for me) most solid all round club. I was expecting a more muted/dead feel....got the total opposite...The MT Tung won on looks..classic/clean.

These clubs are awful. Very chunky and remarkably difficult to work. I wouldn't reccomend these clubs to anyone. DONT BUY THEM!

I currently play with 962s and thought they were the best cavities around. These MTs are absolutely fabulous. They are forgiving, very soft, very solid, long and playable. These feel like the old muclebacks, but have the forgiveness of today's technology. The Extralite shaft is great for mid-handicappers, if you're a scratch just get Dynamic Gold. This really makes the 962s feel like I'm hitting with a pipe. This is a great iron for those who are or want to learn how to work the ball. It will hit it straight and when it's time to fade, draw, punch low, float it high it will perform as close to a blade as you can get. Mis-hits are not as stinging as the 962s.

These clubs replaced my tiger sharks which I'd had for 5 years. The contact with the MT is great; I am hitting my shots a little lower and the long irons have a great penetrating flight. The sand wedge has required a bit of practice as I don't hit the ball as far. However the control is superb.
