As good as Apex + w/o the price tag (I also have a set of Apex+). Apex+ is a little softer but MTs are a little more forgiving. MTs are softer than any cast clubs I've tried. Great clubs.

Excellent irons in all respects. I wasn't even considering MacGregors at all, was more concerned with Titleist DCI 990 and Hogan Apex +. Saw these in a rack and thought they looked great, classy and very high quality. The real kicker was when I swung at a few balls. Wonderful feel, feedback and softness. The MT's are made from 304 steel, which is as soft as carbon forged steel but cast instead. Whereas the Titleist 990 has a muted feel, the MacGregor MT's have an almost sweet as forged feel, but also are forgiving enough to save miss hits. The Hogan Apex+ are exceptional irons as well, and are somewhat forgiving, but the reward of a good shot is just as pleasing with the Mac's, and great forgivness as well. The MT's are just as workable as the Hogan's, set up almost identical as well. All this and a price almost 50% less than the Hogan's. MacGregor MT irons are exceptional golf clubs, a sleeper in my mind. I'm smiling with every swing of these clubs.

Customer Service

I called the Canadian distributor of MacGregor products for more information. They invited me to their offices, gave me a great brouchure and spent time showing me all the merits of their golf clubs. Then they gave me a set of demo clubs to play with for a week or so, just to make sure and followed up after i purchased them. Great people. Now, if only they would make their MT wedges in lefthanded, would be a happy man:)

In one word, WOW! Ever since I began playing, I had fallen into the big $$$ new technology clubs, but now I have seen the light. What a great set of clubs. After my first few shots at the range, I noticed that these clubs get the ball way up in the air, but do not seem to compromise distance. At first, I thought I was hitting my SW, instead of the PW. It was great! All of the clubs are easy to get up into the air, even the 3 iron. There is a small amount of offset on the clubs, but nothing major. These will not turn you gentle draw into a hook. Another thing I noticed quickly was haw great these clubs feel. Unlike other clubs which can compensate for poor swings, you'll know right away if you've hit a good one or not. These go where you aim them. There is massive loss of distance when you hit a fat shot, but that's the way it should be. And last, but not least, is the great look of these clubs. Not oversized and bulky like my Callaways X-12's (which are now on EBAY), but more of the classic look. At $325, after tax, from Edwin Watts, these may be the best clubs for the price on the market today.

These clubs are awesome. I wasn't even considering these clubs until I read some reviews about them (all I was thinking was 990's and Apex Plus). These clubs are awesome. I played with them today for the first time. My first shot ever was a five iron from 175, and it was a crush. It wasn't even good contact but it flew perfect. The feel on these clubs is amazing. I refuse to believe that these aren't forged. They have an amazing pure feel at impact. Distance is great. (old 6-iron 150, new 6-iron 155-160). These clubs also look great. Possibly the best irons on the market! I love these clubs!!!!

Customer Service

I have been searching for the game I experienced yesterday for the 7 years I have been playing golf! I just got the MacGregor MT Tourney irons from Edwin Watts for $299.
Tested against TaylorMade Supersteel, Mizuno True Forged at their Superstore in Ft. Lauderdale. The salesman recommended the MacGregors as part of the exercise. I would have passed right by them!

THE CLUBS - WOW is all I can say - first 9 holes yesterday (wrappers still on heads) and COULD'T BELIEVE IT! It's the most fun I've had on a golf course EVER! So easy to hit!
ACCURATE & LONG with beautiful high trajectory and soft landings. What a SWEET feel!
LOOK: GREAT LOOKING CLUBS - in the bag and at address!
FEEL: There is feel! You know exactly what you've done the moment of contact!
As good as forged. Can feel the head all the way through the swing!
more feel than TM - same as Mizuno on good shots but more forgiving.
ACCURACY: Want straight? got straight! Want fade? Got fade! Want draw? GOT draw! Want backspin? Got back spin!
SHOCKED-maybe my swing isn't that bad?
DISTANCE: OOPS! Didn't expect ALL THAT! (with the higher trajectory to boot) Gonna have to club down from now on!
CONTROL: Practice will help (haven't even unwrapped them all yet) better than expected!
Gap wedge FLOP SHOT-I can do that? YUP!
3 iron from 210-to the flag(and beyond!)
Gap from 95-(over the flag and beyond!)
I was just trying to make approach shots
didn't expect to be able to pick that small of a target! (I've been compensating for poor contact for far too long)

VALUE:$300 and they perform like a $1000! That's value for me!
WHO should consider - Mid to high handicappers and those tired of the oversize look and no feel of "forgivness clubs". If you want the feel of forged and forgiveness try them.
SUMMARY: Incredible deal! Everything I wanted and more than I expected! Old irons are headed to the consignment shop!

Will update after a few complete rounds.

I've been trying to shoot in the 80s all spring and summer. I decided to try the $299 special that was going on with this clubs and what a world of difference! I shot 89 on a 126 sloped course the very first time out!! This is a great set for the "average" golfer.

I found them for half price at a nearby golf outlet. I figured that I would use them for a year and then trade up next year. Change of plans... These clubs are great! The clubs go right where you aim them. The three-iron is my fairway bisection tool. I'm anxiously awaiting for my 2-iron to arrive. I've learned to draw and fade my irons at will. I hit them flush, they feel like butter. If I'm off a bit, I get feedback with little change in results other than maybe a lower trajectory. I expect my handicap to go to single digits this summer because any shot with an iron is automatic. Hitting a 3 iron is like hitting a wedge. These clubs are going to stay in my bag for a long time.

Customer Service

I got a quick response from Customer Service re: purchasing a 2-iron.

Oh man are these wonderful irons! They have such a classic, clean look, no gimmicks. They are well balanced, get the ball in the air easily, and actually give you a nice feedback. I picked them out in the pro shop and didn't even bother to try them out, they looked and felt that good. I find that every shot goes exactly where i am lined up. What more can you ask for?

I am not a pro by any means but this set cut at least 10-13 strokes off my game. Very easy to hit, to get the ball airborne and they feel great. I would recommend this set of Irons to mid to high handicap players.
