Have owned Taylor Made, Ping, Cobra, and Mizuno irons. Purchased a set of the 455 MacGregor irons and believe they are the best. They have helped eliminate most bad iron shots. "GREAT".

The best thing about these irons is that you can stick gum in the cavity between rounds.

Was at PGA Superstore this weekend (while the wife was holiday shopping). I currently play Mizuno MX-11s, and I am happy with them and recommend them. However, I was killing time and noticed a used set of V-foil M455s w/ steel shafts for sale for $149. I play a V-foil driver, so my curiosity got the best of me and I decided to hit a few with the irons in one of the simulator stations. I wasn't expecting much, but boy was I surprised. These irons feel great! Distance was good too. I was hitting the 6 iron 180-190 yds, which is slightly longer than average for me, although I don't always trust those simulators to be accurate. Anyway, the long irons were very easy to hit. I was worried that the "bulky" appearance would be a hinderance on the short irons, but I really did not notice any distraction from it at all. Needless to say, I bought the irons. I have yet to try them on the course yet, but I'm eagerly anticipating taking them out... when the temp warms up a little!

I would not agree with the two guy's that had a problem with the graphite shafts. The graphite design ys shaft is still being used by adams golf for one on their new irons. I keep coming back to these iron's even after trying about seven or eight new set's recently.(callaway, ping taylor made ect.)
You can't go wrong with these clubs, They're forged for good feel and very forgiving. Not to mention about a club longer than any i have tried.

I have tried out many clubs in looking for my next set. The M455 gave me the best bang for the buck. They felt great and, once I got them bent to fit my lie angle, have been a dream to play with.

I got the steel shafts and didn't try the graphite, so I can't speak to that discussion.

I highly recommend these clubs for someone who is looking for an iron that will get their ball up in the air a bit easier and is looking for a good deal.

Excellent irons. Don't believe what the two other guys say about their GRAPHITE Shafts. Mine are GREAT!! Maybe theirs were aftermarket or something. I tried both in the pro shop and opted for the graphite. AFter trying about 10 different sets of different iron makers, I kept coming back to the M455's. They just feel excellent when you hit the ball. Long, lofty and straight. I'm glad I bought these irons.

I'm impressed by these clubs. I got the graphite shaft and love them. Don't believe the reviews you read on the graphite here. Maybe they got some kind of weird set. I hit both the steel and graphite and have to say I like the graphite better. They are both great clubs regardless of the type of shaft. My graphite shafts are the ones that came with the clubs (YS tech?). Shots are forgiving, long, lofty and straight. You can't go wrong with these irons. I tried about 10 different top brands at the local pro shop and kept coming back to the MacGregor. I'm glad I did!!

I totally agree with Arizona_dude. The heads themselves are awesome. Last year I tried these clubs in a driving range with steel shafts and the feeling was wonderful. They were straight and long. So I decided to buy some but with graphite shafts, and I got them for really cheap. I selected the perfect shaft flex that fits my swingspeed, and I just can't get a good feeling with these clubs. The first time I hit a ball, I felt so much vibration that I thought I just hit a stone. I mean, I really felt it right down my spine, and my hands were still shaking two minutes later. Since then, I switched to Callaway Irons, and they're just fine.
