A friend of mine plays these irons with steel shafts. I tried them and loved them right away ! So I decided to get my own set of these, but with graphite shafts. I made the worst mistake of my life ! I thought I would be straighter and longer, but for some reason I'm neither of these. Since then I gave up on them, switched to Taylor Made Rac Irons and can enjoy golf again ! I'm now trying to sell my V-Foil set, but couldn't find any taker.

Love these clubs. Easy to hit and nice feedback. I've played with Ping Eyes, and Orlimar SF302. I loved the feel of the forged Orlimars but these clubs are more forgiving and I hit these about 5-10 yards longer than the Orlimars. The 3 and 4 Irons have larger heads and are easy to hit. Swing smooth and easy and the ball will go where you aim.

Easily the best irons on the market. I purchased mine at the beginning of the golf season and have improved my game by 6 strokes already. I went from a 21 handicap to a 15 in about two months. These are very forgiving irons and the oversized club head makes them extremely easy to hit. Anyone could use these irons. I am very impressed and purchasing these irons was money well spent. I would recommend these irons to anyone who wants to shave some strokes off of their handicap!

Customer Service

I havent had to deal with anyone from the MacGregor Golf company because these irons are so good they wont break on you.

After reading all the reviews decided to buy a set of mac's (4i - pw) and after taking straight to the course two holes later i wished i had bought them years ago.For anyone who has not tried forged clubs - do yourself a favour and try! The feeling of a well struck shot with these clubs is awesome. Off-centre hits are respectable in both distance and direction.Ball flight is med-high to high and on the short irons i have been able to back balls up or at least stop them dead. I was so impressed with these irons that i bought an ezy-out macgregor sand wedge to fill the set in and again the feel of this club is fantastic. Highly reccomend.

Customer Service

Excellent - sent an e-mail requesting specs (lofts etc) and they replied within 1 day.

Model Reviewed: Macgregor NVG2 Irons

Macgregor NVG2 are without a doubt the Callaway fusion of the Macgregor Iron range!

Macgregor have set out with a simple premise, make the easiest to hit most forgiving club possible and try not to make it quite as ugly as the M455's

Guess what... THEY SUCCEEDED!

I have just bought the NVG2 6i - Sw iron set with the microstep shafts as a replacement for my M455's and am extremely glad that I made this decision.

They set up easily, they simply drop into the bottom of the ball and are a consistent 1 - 1.5 clubs longer than the M455's, despite this length they have a HUGE amount of backspin, I am currently hitting my NVG2 7 iron 145 - 160 yds, this territory belonged to my M455 5 iron!

As you can tell I am not a big hitter in anyway, but even I was surprised at the results I got from these irons.

If you love Macgregor clubs, then simply BUY THESE! forget about the Callaway Fusions, they have just been surpassed and at half the price too!

I purchased the McGregor M455 last year I was pretty happy with them until this year. My 3,7, and 8 iron component became loose from the shaft. The 3 iron did a 180 after I hit the ball so I checked my other irons and found the 7 and 8 irons to be moveable. If it was one iron I can understand but not 3 out 8. Iam sure its a matter of time before the rest of the irons loosen up from the shaft.

A couple of months ago I bought a M455 six iron Demo at the local practice range. I hit it and immediately drove to the local golf shop to look at the complete set and price them out. I figured the price was too high for what I wanted to spend so I started occasionally looking for sets on eBay. Last week I found a set that matched me (graphite, over length)and I bid and bought. I played the irons today for the first time and agree with all the statements - these are great looking irons (confidence) and are extremely easy to hit. Using my normal swing I felt like I was getting about 5 yards more per club, but there seemed to be a "reserve" in the clubs that when I wanted them to fly further they certainly responded. Great feel off the clubhead. I am a 3 handicap and feel these are/would be great clubs from anyone from a scratch player to a high handicapper. I'm looking forward to many rounds with these clubs - now what am I going to do with the other dozen or so sets of irons? I would have saved money and storage space by buying these clubs prior - if I would have only know.

Bottom line, very easy to hit. I've been on the driving range several times and on the course twice. They build confidence because they are easy to hit. I have a 4 handicap and my buddies may kid me that I hitting these things - but I'm looking forward to playing them. I'm also 59, and looking for anything that makes the easier and more enjoyable. These clubs are just plain easy to hit and I can't think of any good reason to struggle with blades. Enjoy them!

Havent been playing long and had really old clubs and thought it was time to treat myself to some clubs that would last me at least 3 or 4 years. Bought a well known golf magazine and these were the best game improvement irons. So i went a local shop and managed to get a second hand set (3-SW). I think these are good for beginners who are thinking of taking the game up seriously, they look very nice except for the 3 and 4 iron at address as they can look abit bulky. These have a high launch angle and have a bigger hitting area. I sometimes skull the ball when im using the SW, dont know if its cos its abit bulky or its just me :( Anyway these are very nice and why not try them? I think its important to get them custom fitted too. Whats the point in playing with clubs that are for someone whos 6 foot when ur 5'7. You'll see that 99% of reviews of these clubs are very good.

Model Reviewed: V-Foil M455 Macgregor

I was using a set of Big Bertha 2004, and Callaway X-18. On a long course I would use the X-18 for the extra distance, and on a short course I would use the Big Berthas for the forgiveness. I was sick of doing this, and I wanted to get used to one set of irons. I went to DEMO EVERY SINGLE IRON at Alf's Golf Shop in Miami (www.alfsgolf.com) and came away with one impression: on a scale of 1 to 10, the Macgregor M455 irons are a SOLID 10 and the next closest competitor (probably the ping G2) are a measly 5. I'm not kidding, please before you spend thousands of dollars on those "magic irons" from the big brand names, go out and hit these Macgreogors. I was getting 125 yards from my BB 9-iron. My first time going out to play with the Macgregors I was hitting 9 iron from 150 YARDS!!!!! I felt like a tour pro. There was one hole that I hid a very bad drive (200 yard pop up), and I still had about 185 yards to go. With the big berthas or even the x-18 that would have been a 4 or 5 iron. I was tempted to use the seven iron from the M455, I ended up using the 6 iron and ended up SAFELY on the green even after a slight pull fade. That's right 185 yards with a six iron and HIGH. You will thank me if you go out and get these. It feels almost like cheating. Oh, and they are SOFT!!!! The feedback you get from these irons is INCREDIBLE, they are forged as opposed to the other game improvement irons. Think about it, forged irons, that hit as long as any blade out there, are MORE forgiving than the BIG BERTHAS and are softer than the Mizuno MP-23's. I think that at $560 which is what I paid for them new it's a STEAL!!!!!

Customer Service

Excelent Customer Service. Very nice to talk to, and answer all of your questions.
