These clubs are very accurate and have great workability. The 2-4 irons are easier to hit than any set of irons I have ever used. The trajectory can be a little high especially against the wind but that is due more to the shaft I am using than the club heads. I should be using extra-stiff instead of stiff. If you mis-hit the ball don't expect to get the same degree of forgiveness as perimeter weighted clubs. If you hit it near the center then these clubs are magical! Using blades is how golf is meant to be played. If you are looking for some world class blades then look no further than MacGregor 1025M's. They are fantastic clubs! Customer Service Not used. I felt pretty fortunate to pick these clubs up brand new from Ebay. I was already playing a set of vintage MacGregors and was not in the market for any clubs. I knew the forgings from MG were unique, at least to my taste, after hitting all the major OEMs. I took a five iron out from the pro shop and after the first ball struck, I knew these were special irons. I am able to hit every shot within my capability and achieve the expected outcome. The clubs play very consistent from club to club...even measured the frequency to validate it. I don't think you need to be a single digit HDCP to enjoy these irons. My wife doesn't play golf AT ALL and she was able to achieve better than beginner's results from the mid-irons. The only downside (for me) to the irons is the fact that they are bored for taper tip shafts. Just limits the options for any exotic shafts one may want to experiment with. Also, I am a stickler for aestetics...two of the ferrules are slipping. Overall, a timeless and truly underrated set of irons. By the way, the wedges are even better. Customer Service Not needed. Paid $569 for 3-PW, then bought 2 iron, GW, and SW. First off, I score anywhere from 74 on my best days, to 84 on my bad days. I would say that most people who can break 90 could benefit from using these irons. If you are looking to improve your game, and you strike the ball on or near the center of the clubface most times, these irons are a great option. So-called "Game-Improvement" irons seem to mask ones faults, and encourage sloppy swing mechanics, and a lack of concentration. I have found that a good forged muscleback actually encourages me to tighten-up my game. My scores improve as a result. These forgings are without a doubt the sweetest feeling that I have ever hit - and I have hit all of the big name-brand forgings, and owned several sets along the way. My distances are much more consistent, too. Cast cavity-backs seem to me to be inconsistent in ballflight and distance, as I've noticed the frequent monster shot that flies ten to fifteen yards further than the average. With the MacGregors, the only time I am out of each club's mean range is when I put a poor swing to the ball. At these times, I will lose some distance, but I am never off-line. This, I have found, is characteristic of a good forging. If you want to become a better golfer, I would suggest a good, forged muscleback. So far as these MacGregor 1025M irons go, I do not believe that you will find another iron with a better combination of accuracy and feel. When these 1025Ms finally wear-out, I will most definitely try another MacGregor product first before I purchase anything else. I encourage you to be fit by someone who knows what he is doing, and cares about doing a good job for you. It will make a world of difference. Playing a club that is too flat or upright, too long or short for you, will never give you consistent results, and will leave you with an unsatisfying feeling when leaving the course. Lastly, I was somewhat skeptical about the MacGregors because I read a handful of user reviews on this site and another. I first hit these clubs at a local shop, and then placed a custom-order with Brian at bhmgolf.com. Give him a chance to sell to you at the best price I could find on the net. My clubs arrived eight days later, and I was nothing but completely satisfied with their performance. Not even one issue of the sort mentioned in these other reviews. I might add, I have owned several other MacGregor products over the years, and I have never had problem one with any of them. In fact, I regret selling them in my mindless search for perfection in golf. From now on, I will play a set until they wear-out before I buy another. That money is better spent on a lesson or two from a good local pro. Customer Service I mentioned my apprehension about buying these clubs, based solely on a few user reviews, so I emailed MacGregor to ask them about their quality control. Their CEO, Barry Schneider, personally emailed me back (no, it was not a "form-letter")with encouraging and friendly words about these clubs, the MacGregor company vision, and their QA department which totals 20% or their factory employees. In contrast, I emailed two other top name club manufacturers with a simple question, and I have yet to receive a reply, a month and counting. Similar Products Used: I have hit them all, and bought many of them. Titleist, Callaway, Cleveland, Ben Hogan, Mizuno, etc. These MacGregors are my favorites, and I hope to keep them in my bag for a long time. |

Solid, easy to hit blades with good workability. Irons spin the ball well and holding a green is easy. The D-3 swingweight as stock seems a bit light but this is easy to correct. My only real complaint is that these irons wear very easily and appear to be much older in short time then they actually are. These irons are awesome! They are surprisingly forgiving for blades, and deadly accurate. I've been hitting some of the best long iron shots of my life! A lot of people say you shouldn't hit these or any other blades unless you shoot a handicap around the 70's. Handicap isn't a very good indicator of your ballstriking with irons; you could be really good with irons and bad with your putter and driver. If you're a good ballstriker with your irons and you are consistently so, then i'd say you should be able to use blades. Customer Service Didn't have to use it. Switched from Golfsmith Blades. Softer (Obviously 1045 to 1025) and more forgiving but still feels like you are hitting a blade. Long irons are great. I have never felt so confident with a 3 iron in my life. Best blade I have hit. Similar Products Used: Golfsmith Forged Blades Mizuno MP-14 Wilson Staff FG-17 |

I have been playing with the 1025C, then on to the 1025CM and finally made a move to the 1025M when I saw that the topline on the CM long irons are about the same as the blades. I've been very happy with all of these sets but am really pleased with the 1025Ms, they are so well designed that they not only look great but also perform great. The first time I tried to hit them, I was not hitting them right but every now and then I would hit the occasional forged sweet spot and nothing compares - what I found out is that I had to concentrate better to hit the sweet spot because unlike game improvement cavity backs, these clubs will tell you when you miss the sweet spot, the result is better concentration, more disciplined practice and a few strokes shaved. I tried this set side by side with the Hogan Apex Plus, Titleist 690CB and 690.CB, Titleist 762 Hogan Apex Blades and in my opinion, although all the above clubs are good, they do not compare to the 1025Ms both in looks and performance. I custom ordered mine with Flighted Rifle 5 shafts and 2* flat lie - took them to a clubfitter to further customize and now I feel I have the best equipment possible. Customfitting makes a huge difference. The V foil technology works because the long irons are as easy to hit as my old cavity backs. If you miss your iron shots all the time, hit them fat, thin or can't hit them crisply - game improvement clubs really is not the answer in my opinion - a good golf lesson is probably a better investment because it leads to better and more enjoyable practice. Customer Service Great people, helpful and professional.
