I've had a set of Hogan Apex PCs for 10+ years and wanted to modernize. I don't buy new so I looked around on E-bay and swung a variety of blades at a local used club store. Spotted these on E-bay and took a flyer on them. After I reshafted them with Rifle 6.0s (original DGS Lite 300s were lively, but too loose) and weighted them to D-2, I ended up with a fine set of clubs. They provide excellent feedback with the new shafts. They are reasonably long and extraordinarily accurate. Even on mis-hits, they are not overly harsh. However, it is hard to miss with these clubs since they set up quite well visually. Are they better than Mizunos? Hogans? MacGregors? I don't really know. They did push my set of Mac PCB Tours into the garage and I haven't given up any strokes as a consequence. BTW, the PCB Tours are wonderful too, its just that I can't find a reason to put them back in the bag with the KZs in there. Recommendation? If you want a blade to knock around, these are as fine a set of clubs as can be had.

This has to be one of the purest forged clubs i've ever hit. I was going to get a set of mp 33 just because i've used mizuno clubs all my life, but when i hit the kzg, i new this was the set to buy. The store i purchased it through did an excellent job on custom fitting the set. I watched him bend the lie and loft on each club. For a blade, I find the head pretty forgiving, and it is a very workable club. The look of the club reminds me of the mp 29, just a little more ofset and little bigger. I just love these things. i can work the ball however i want with ease. If you are looking for a blade and your still shopping around its a must you try these out before buying spending your money on other muscle back blades. You'll definetly save money on this set without sacrificing what you want in a club.

Customer Service

North Woods golf does a wonderful job, if i need an adjustment to the lie, loft, or anything else they'll have it done in no time.

At the time of this review I have been playing for 5 years. I generally shoot in the low 40's but tonight had a one over par round, my best ever! About two years ago I decided to try a blade and these were so inexpensive that I had nothing to lose. I''ve changed and simplified my swing so much in the last two years it's hard to compare them agains the Ping ISI's I was using previously. It's my belief that you can shoot a good round with just about any decent set of clubs. After all a good swing is a good swing. While you *may* get a better shot with a cavity club and a bad swing, I don't really see it with the KZG blades. Golf is all about confidence and the KZG's seem to inspire it in me. They just look so darn good at address. I love the thin top line. I also find them pretty easy to hook or slice on purpose for those time I find myself needing that shot. When you flush a KZG iron it just pure sweetness. Love'em!

Just got these clubs today. They feel great (nice and soft) and give good feedback. These are definately a bit longer than others. Haven't gotten the SW or LW yet (raw)- the heads were backordered. Great value, too. Rifle 6.0, Lamkin Crossline grips.

Customer Service

Haven't need to use it yet, fortunately. Clubs are covered by any non-intentional damage.

I echo the other reviewers' comments. These blades are SWEET and easy to hit. I am a high-handicapper, but after ~100 balls to warm up and get used to the clubs, I was drilling the 3-iron long and straight at the range! The short and middle irons were sweet too. They always said blades were too hard, high-handicappers should play cavity backs, but I think I can play these blades. I need to test them on the course, to see if they still work for me, but I have a good feeling about this...

i made a big switch from ping I3 o-sized to these forged blades. to me they are just as easy if not easier to hit. maybe i am a blade player after all, but these clubs have great feel and are very long.i seem to hit a very high trajectory with them but it just keeps going and going.they are great for the price, get them if you can, very nice clubs!

Model Reviewed: KZG Blades

These are one of the best true forged blades available to lefties. Mizuno and McGregor used to make blades for lefties but they decided to discontinue due to smaller market. They are hand made in Japan where the world's best forged irons come from. Lefthanded models are slightly different than the righthanded ones as lefthanded models have straight muscle backs as to righthanded models' rounded muscle backs. Distance control is great and knockdown shots generate very nice trajectory. Long irons are relatively easier to hit than some other traditional blades. There are no gimmicks. They award good swings and let you know when you make mistakes. If you are a good iron player and want to try a set of reasonably priced forged blades, these might work for you. One thing though, KZG might want to consider using better quality paint. Paint from the logo and on the sole came off after a couple of rounds. Other than that, I give 11 out of possible 10.

Wow. Wasn''t sure I was good enough to play blades, but after 3 weeks I''m ready to sell my ISI''s. The KZG''s I got are 3* upright with rifle 5.5 shafts. I am a z-z65 shafter with the pings, but the 5.5 rifles are plenty firm for me. Blades force you to come to terms with your swing flaws. Feedback is immediate of course, but when you get your swing working, look out; you will want to hit your irons on the tee and the green too!!! I just pumped out about a hundred balls on the range and enjoyed every minute...even the bad swings, because you learn from them more than a cavity back...we''ll see how they do in cold weather, but right now I''m very happy with my purchase.

Being a lefthanded golfer, it is very hard to find a set of forged irons. I have tried Apex plus irons but they rather have thicker toplines and non-bladelike looks. DCI 990s have heavy heads compared to other blades and lack soft feeling that you get from forged irons. Mizuno TP-9s and other MP series irons are probably the best blades available for lefties other than KZGs but Mizuno stopped offering lefty blades about 2 years ago so it is very hard to find them at reasonable price. KZG blades have slightly bigger heads compared to other blades to offer confidence at address. They are very soft and workable irons. They award you for a good swing and let you know when you make a mistake. That''s what you look for in blades. They also feature modern lofts as PW has a loft of 48 degrees rather than 49 or 50. They are longer than my previous DCI 990s by about 5-10 yards. If you''re in a market for a set of quality blades you should give these a try.
