This is as friendly as blades can get unless you opt for muscle cavity backs like Apex plus, mizuno mp30, or macgregor 1025C (lefty speaking). My only other blade experience is with Macgregor Tour PMB, which one of the last lefty loyalists, and I have to admit the more offset in KZG makes it more tolerable than PMB. On solid strikes, I have to give the mark to PMB with precision. Distance is a draw. Feel is slightly less with PMB, more than likely because KZG's heads are more musclebacked. For some reason, the long irons in KZG have higher trajectory compared to those in PMB set, eventhough they are lofted stronger (21 instead of 23 degrees 3 iron). I can't complain with that. Only question about the design is the not so aggressive and deep grooves on the club face, which haven't hurt the ball spin since the trajectory is much higher anyway. Bottom line: If you are Lefty with a solid ball striking, you will like it. Now all I have to do is unhooking my driver and avoiding those dreaded 3-putts

Not directly with KZG yet. I strongly recommend custom bending with your swing to optimize these sticks.

These clubs are sweeeeeeeeet. Beware though, the left handed verison is different. As you notice on the right handed verison, the muscle back kind of curves up. On the left handed version it's basically a straight line. Sorry I dont have a better explaination. The feel on these clubs are increadible. The long irons are surprisingly easy to hit. Overall a great set of clubs. Made in the same factory as Mizuno.

Model Reviewed: KZG Forged 2 mixed with blades

I have recently purchased a set of KZG forded 2 irons mixed with Blades 7-A, and I have to say that if you could go to a SIX on this site for a rating these clubs fit the bill. I also bought a 2 iron with the set and it is outstanding and pure on contact! I, like so many on this site, suggest each person get fitted for clubs like these. I have an average swing speed of 100mph, and I set my set up with Precision 6.5 Rifle shafts, and these sticks do the trick. I also suggest Royals sand V-grips! Some things I disagree with on this site is the forgiveness in these clubs. I find them very forgiving and very, very, very long. You can really work the ball, and the spin the blades generate in the lower irons is GREAT! The forged gap wedge is so soft and pure. These clubs give you such confidence at address. Those with a handicap 15 and below will love these clubs. Anyone really interested in finding out how pure forged irons feel, please give these a try before you go waste your time with some big name brand!!! Just remember, off the rack clubs often have shafts that don't match your swing. When it is all said and done those expensive irons you can buy at off the rack will cost double when you have to get them reshafted. Do yourself a favor and check out KZG. I am a big supporter of their equiptment.

Customer Service

So far, great! I got my clubs fit by a local club maker Gary Ingram from Gigi golf in PA., and they came in about 7 days. I recently ordered a KZG bag.

I switched to these irons almost a year ago. A few of my mates still look woried when I pull a 3 iorn out, in windy conditions there is little to touch these, into the wind I'm a club stronget than most 4~5 lads in my club. I agree with some of the previous reviewers that they feel very soft through the ball and the odd out of the toe hit is not punished so bad. I know that in todays "branded" market that my resell value will be low, but it will be quite a while before I feel the need. I have variable flex regular shafts which make the whole set work well together long easy to hit, short "no nonsence"

I finally decided to make the jump to forged blades, even though most of my golfing buddies tried to convince me that I was not a good enough ball striker. After about 200 balls pounded on the range, I finally found my correct tempo and stroke with these clubs. The long irons are absolute rocket launchers when I find the sweet spot. Distance penalties on off-center hits was about the same as my King Cobra's, but I get much better feedback. The ball can be easily worked, and the wedges are an absolute dream to hit. The $495 price included 3 - Gap Wedge, with Dynamic Gold S 300 Shafts custom fit for me, as well as top of the line Winn Grips. The 3 iron looks like a butterknife attached to the shaft at address, but I have never hit such a beautiful draw with 190 yds of carry (uphill at my driving range). GIVE THESE CLUBS A SHOT. THEY ARE JUST AS GOOD AS ANY OF THE "NAME BRAND" BLADES I HAVE EVER TRIED, AT HALF THE COST. AND THEY LOOK GORGEOUS. THIS COMPANY WILL DEFINATELY BE A MAJOR PLAYER IN THE YEARS TO COME.

Customer Service

Paul at Encinitas Golf Shop was fantastic. He put me on the impact board and fit the clubs perfectly for me (swing speed, shaft length, etc.) If you are in the San Diego area you owe it to yourself to go to the shop. The customer service is second to none.

An absolutely beautiful club. I hit them pretty well most of the time. I wouldn't recommend them for most people. In fact, they are not in my bag yet. I play a round with them every now and then and switch back to my Armour evo 31s of KZG forged 2 irons. You might wonder why I do this. First, it is making me a better golfer. One of my favorite clubs (XL 2000s - see the ratings) is great for virtually everyone. However, there are times when you really want to "work the ball" Most people (and me quite a few times) are not good enough to do this. Hit these clubs for a round and I guarentee your scores will come down on your normal club. My plan is to gradually work my way into these clubs over a year or so. If I did it today, I'd probably gain 5 strokes per 18. Over time, I think I'll drop 5. Right now, I'm getting fairly good - averaging 78. What I'm saying is that I'd probably shoot 82 or so for a while. This may sound stupid; however, sometimes you have to take a few steps back to make progress. That's why I started out with Wilson Fat Shafts -- went to XL 2000s (the club most people should use) - armour evo 31s. Each step is eventually leaded to scores lower than I could have reached if I hadn't changed. For now, the cavity back-ed forged KZGs are in my bag. A year or two from now, these will be. By the way, the workmanship is awesome and when you hit them, they go and stop on a dime - best buy for a professional level club

Bought the lefthanded model on ebay. I was surprised at first with the amount of offset for a blade, but discovered it was a plus. These clubs are very forgiving for a muscleback blade. A toe hit is normally a killer with a blade, but not these. That little offset with the muscleback is the reason. Very, very solid feeling. Beautiful sound at impact. The trajectory is perfect with just the right amount of spin. The combination of ideal spin and trajectory provides a very penetrating ball flight. Easy to work and easy to hit straight. I am very impressed. A mid-handicapper could handle these with no problem. I'll be selling my TP-9's soon.

I'm no scratch golfer, but I have been known to occasionaly break into the 70's. I've used several clubs over the years and stumbled upon KZG's about a year ago when I bought their cavity back forged clubs. Since I enjoyed them I thought if the opportunity arrived I would purchase a set of the regular forged blades. Well, I just got my set today and all I can say is wow! These clubs are spectacular. I know alot of you will probably doubt the KZG's because you've never heard of them or you think that a component company just couldn't be capable of making a high end product. Do yourself a favor and try these clubs. I recently had a set of Mizuno MP 33's and the KZG's, to me, just feel better. Every club is so accurate and feels so soft. I can't wait to see just how much these things are going to help my game. All you doubters do yourself a favor and try these clubs. I guarantee you'll love them.
