I had read all the reviews. I was ready for "A Players Club". I got it. The major selling point for me was the review on Golfclubreview.com. I really like these clubs. Will not lie they have taken some getting used to. They are easily a club short compared to my last set of irons (Top Flite Tours) Then again the Steelhead x-14's were just as short. Short irons are deadly accurate. The flagstick is now a target vice just hoping to get it on the green. Best thing about these if you know what you like in other Top Quality sets, you can have these built to the same specs (Professional Clubmaker a plus as opposed to Bob down the street). GO ahead and pay 400 plus if you like. I will keep these. Customer Service Have dealt with them (Golfsmith) on a couple of occasions with exceptional results. These clubs are the most solid irons I have ever owned. I may be a bit biased on this, because I put them together myself. The clubs are shafted with Rifle Lite 6.5''s with Golf Pride Tour Wrap grips. They play better than any "store bought" name brand irons I''ve tried, and I''ve tried many. I''m sold on building my own, custom tailored clubs. The flow weighting of the clubheads makes drawing the ball much easier with the long irons for me. Also, having a blade PW allows for more a more accurate wedge game. The best part about these clubs is the tight tolerances in which they are made. I did not have to add weight to get them to a matching swingweight. Golfsmith did an excellent job with these irons. I would definately recommend these clubs to anyone trying to improve their game. Provided that you can already make solid, consistent contact with the ball. Customer Service Excellent customer service from Golfsmith. Similar Products Used: Spalding Tour Edition Irons |

I''ve been interested in the design of these irons since they came out and when I found a great buy on some Rifle shafts, I built a set. 4 through AW, swingweighted at D2, with the wedges at D4. The feel is very good, not equivalent to forged irons, but you can really tell when you hit them in the sweet spot. Haven''t learned to hit fades with them yet, they seem to have a draw bias--in the mid and long irons anyway. Very good results so far with chips and pitches. Really think these irons would suit mid and low handicappers rather than someone shooting in the 90-100 range. Customer Service Bought the club heads in the Austin store and was overcharged, but they corrected the mistake immediately, so no complaints from me. AN EXCELLENT PRODUCT, THE BEST IRONS I HAVE EVER HIT. I REALLY LIKE THE LOOK AT ADDRESS (NO OFFSET), NICE TOP LINE AND THESE HAVE THE LOOK AND FEEL OF A MUCH MORE EXPENSIVE CLUB. YOU HAVE THE FEELING OF FORGED, FORGIVENESS OF CAST ALL IN ONE CLUB. I COULD RECOMMEND THESE FOR ALL LOW TO MID HANDICAPPERS. I have seen many people spend ridiculous amounts of money with very little (usually no) improvement to their game or score. I am still amused to see people slice $500 drivers O.B. (but 3 yards further!) or repeatedly shank $120 wedges into the pond. And don''''t get me started on the $250 Scotty Cameron "knockoff" of the $75 Ping Anser 2! (I miss 4 footers with both.) I am still convinced that if you give someone a properly fitted club of reasonable quality, he or she will shoot the same score as he or she would with the newest, most expensive, most "high-tech" club on the market. The important design differences are related to a golfer''''s skill level and preferences. Blade or cavity? Minimal offset "player" cavity, or offset "game-improvement" cavity?? Once you know which design is best for you, the rest is just label envy. I''''m 27. I bought a set of Ping Eye 2s when I was 15 and on the high school team. I felt no real need to change clubs, though I had occasionally mulled over the idea of switching to clubs with less offset. I had demo''''ed Titleist 990s, Ping i3s, and Taylor Made Tour Forged, but simply wasn''''t impressed enough with the "advancements" to spend $800+. A friend suggested I consider component clubs. He had a set of forged Dynacraft Tour cavities, and the look and feel were enough to convince me that component clubs weren''''t second rate. A little research convinced me that the science behind component club designs is of the same caliber as that of OEM designs, and that the price of these clubs warranted a switch. Last fall I settled upon the Tour Cavity Pro, and I couldn''''t be happier. They are classy, elegant looking clubs, more appealing than most sets on the market. I love the minimal offset, thin topline, blade profile. The feel at impact is superb, and a purely struck shot is as enjoyable as that of any club I have hit. My scores HAVE improved with these clubs, due to a design better suited for my abilities. I am confident, furthermore, that I would improve no more if I spent 3 times as much on Titleist 990s or any other flagship "player''''s cavity" or "progressive" club. Lastly, I can''''t overstate the enjoyment value of using "cheap" clubs, a beat-up Ping Anser, and a solid game to humble the guy who tries to impress by carrying $2000 in his bag. http://www.golfclubreview.com/tour_c Customer Service I have made several purchases from Golfsmith. Service has been excellent, all around. Built these with Rifles 5.5 SW D1.5 in "standard"lenght 38" 5 iron."Pured" the shaft in my own way.And they feel great.Never hit any simular brand name that feel this good.Closest in feel would be TM 320.They look great at adress, and the heads are really professionally made with that satin finish. The trajectory is great and the feel super.Would recomend them to Hcp 18 and lower. I put together a set of 3-PW myself. I assembled them with DG S300, and Lamkin Crosslines, I also put a 4 gram hosel weight in each. I absolutely love them. Every iron is as accurate as any I have played, and the short irons provide great feedback. I play in washington where it is often not optimal playing conditions, and these irons feel great even on cold, wet days. I would recommend these clubs to anyone. |

Weakness:
None Although I''m still looking to improve my score to under 100, I just bought a new set of these Cavity Pro''s and I loved the moment I started hitting ''em. I got True Temper Dynamic Gold steel shaft with Sensicore option and a very cushiony Winn grips on all except SW which is Lamkin. I think the short irons are very accurate and gives me good feedback like blades, but long irons are little more difficult to hit but they do go far and straight and they''re not as much forgiving as my old irons (Tommy Armour 845S). But I highly recommend these irons to high handicappers (bet. 95-105) as well. These iron heads are somewhat lighter than others so I got Dynamic Gold S300 but get Dynalite for those who prefer like graphite weight with better control, your option is to get Dynalite Gold with Sensicore option or Rifle Tour Flight will give you light weight with great feels. Purchased these after reading the glowing review at golfclubreview.com Had a set made up with Dynamic Gold S-300 shafts and it turned out to be an excellent combination. The heads are cast from a soft metal so the feel is soft. Minimal offset allows you to work the ball. Graduated cavity helps nicely with the long irons while the short irons are very accurate. I like these better than the Evo v-31/Tri-spec combination, the feel is less harsh and the ball flight has a more boring trajectory. This is the first set of component clubs I've used and my hat is off to Golfsmith for an excellent design. These clubs are for the mid to low handicappers. The performance for dollar spent is outstanding. Similar Products Used: Evo v-31, Ping ISI |

What a delight! Shafted with TT Lite XL w/ Sensicore, R-flex but progressively tipped stiff toward the low irons. Swing weights were also gradually increased from D2 to D5. This makes the 9 iron swing almost like a wedge. These clubs are sweet swinging, very muted at impact (esp. with Sensicore) and a good blend of forgiveness and workability. For mid-handicapper or better. GREAT value for $$. (My set was 4,5,7,8,9 irons, with loft angles adjusted to cover the gap. I carry 4 wedges.) Customer Service www.CustomGolf.com was AWESOME. Great web site, products, selection, customer service, product assembly, shipment. Similar Products Used: None |
