Just wanted a cheap replacement for my stolen driver I knew Goldwin was a quality company so i grabbed this off ebay no one else bid in this item and boy am I glad. was going to pay $250 to $300 for a new driver but now I can pay more green fees instead. I have added 25 yds to my drives and land more consistantly on the fairways.

These irons are by far THE BEST irons money can buy. I got these 2 years ago and will continue using them. The only thing I need to do is throw in stiff steel shafts since i'm a little stronger now. these clubs are great for golfers with a good swing because even when you do just a light swing, they go long and high. If you see these you'll notice how thick the iron heads are, and it's a good thing. I don't think stores sell better quality irons than the AVDP oversize, especially for the price!

These are by far the best clubs I have ever played. I have a friend that gets me demo clubs to try of most of the big brands. I have tried Cleveland TA7's , Ping I3 (and I3+), Nike Pro Combo, Taylor Made RAC OS, Mizuno (not sure model), Taylor Made 300 and Callaway t-14 and t-16. I have yet to find a set of clubs I like anywhere close to my Goldwin's.

started with the 9 degree driver then went to a set of irons with strong grafite stafts and wow! had them for 3-4 years and then i found a set of goldwin irons in steel stiff for 79bucks!!!just found a place to get the winn wrap grips cheaper. quality golf products took over goldwins inventory and had the hardware for the clubs..i dumped the woods for a 8 degree ERC ,the goldwin just could keep up with this beast.and as for the irons they STILL are the sweetest stick I'VE ever hit. in every way.. i still keep a 11 degree stell driver in my bag and like ALL goldwin woods the really nice thing abaout them is the weight you can add inside to REALLY custom your club to YOU and get some REAL added bang to your shot..so if you can find them i'd say buy them.

I have been playing these for a couple of seasons and really feel comfortable with them. It took a while because the balance point was much lower than what I was used too. It will take quite a improvement in technology to get me to change.

The best $100.00 I ever spent. I bought the steel rifle shafts for the demo set @ a golf shop when I was passing through on a golf trip the next day I had my best round ever, now Ive been sporting perma-wood for 2 years when I get to hit iron shots. I just wish that the wedges were easyer to find.

I REALY LIKE THESE IRONS. THE PROBLEM IS I BROKE THE 3 IRON AND THE 6 IRON @ THE HOZEL. THEY FEEL GREAT. BUT WISH THEY HAD A BETTER SHAFT SYSTEM THEY ARE FIRM FACTORY GRAPHITE. KEEP THIS IN MIND. IF YOU LOOK I WAS NOT THE ONLY ONE. STILL THE BEST IRONS I HAVE PLAYED BUY 2 SETS JUST IN CASE. TOUGH TO BUY OTHER ONES.

Model Reviewed: Goldwin ADVP Tour Irons

I didn't see a place for a review of the ADVP Tour Irons, so I thought I would put it here.

I bought my Goldwin ADVP Tour Irons about 4 years ago. At the time I was looking for something between the huge off-set behemoths, that seemed to be everywhere, and a set of blades (Because I just don't play enough golf to justify playing blades). After searching for some time, I hit several balls at a local golf store, with the ADVP Tour's, and I loved them the first time I hit them.

At the time, Goldwin was liquifying their inventory, as they were getting ready to close their doors (I didn't know that at the time). These clubs were orginally over $900 and I got them for $299. For that price, I felt like I robbed a bank!

The first time I took them out, after being used to hitting blades, I didn't hit them very well. Even though these club heads were just slightly larger than my blades, they looked huge. Anyway, once I learned to just let the club do the work, I was hitting the ball unbelievably long. On a smooth swing I hit the PW about 135 yards. I have hit my 2-iron over 250 yards and normally hit it about 230-235.

Miss hit's didn't give as much feed back as my old blades, of course what does, and it took me a while to figure out where I was hitting the ball on the club face. Center/solid hits feel absolutely sweet. I can work these clubs and they are accurate.

I don't know why Goldwin went out of business because they made just absolutely super golf equipment.

If you are looking for something between a cavity back and a blade and you see a set of these out on e-bay or some place like that, buy 'em! You won't be sorry. As far as I am concerned, one of the best mid-sized clubs ever made.
