The TA3 FormForged irons (Chrome finish) are consistent and accurate with approach shots. They also looks gorgeous, too. I average 60 to 70% green in regulation per round. If I can get my short game going, I will be shooting 70s most of the time. That says how confident I feel about these irons. I play Precept Lady. It's a low compression ball. Supprisingly, with the TA3, my approach can produce the kind of spin either couple of haps or drop-and-dead. These irons are also pretty forgiving and long comparing with other forged kind or muscleback.

Customer Service

Excellent even though I don't need them for questions about the TA3. I had a question on what type of iron the Champion's Tour player Don Poley used to win the Senior US Open. Don was deadly accurate with his approaches, which really impressed me. The Cleveland Customer Services sent me a response back in 24 hours - Don used the TA3 FormForged.

I've owned these clubs for 3 years, and I couldn't be happier. My swing has evolved and that may be the biggest reason that these clubs are so sweet. I just point and shoot and the ball is there. The clubs demand a good swing and must be hit on the sweet spot to consistently get the requisite distance. My handicap has decreased from 20 to 15-16. I like my clubs, and I am sorry they discontinued them( or maybe they MORPHED into TA2's). I hated the Cleveland crossline grips, though.

Never needed them.

Model Reviewed: TA3 Form Forged Chrome

My TA3's are the Chrome model with X100 shafts factory installed. First let me say my heart lies with Forged Muscle back irons, but with the look and the feel I could not resist. These irons are great, they feel and play like blades. First time my home course was playing very windy (15mph). The ball flight was slightly high and penetrating, just how I like it. Distance is above average probably the longest irons I have ever owned. The feel is amazing; you can work the ball with ease. I can see why the Cleveland pros are using something similar to this model (588P Forged, or the TA3). These irons will be in my back a very long time.

Customer Service

A1, called Cleveland many times for information, and they where propmt and very informative.

I use to play the TM Firesole irons, and was quite happy except for the trajectory on the shorter irons; they were too high. One fear I had even after I purchased the club was how consistent I would be hitting the ball. Once I got out in the range, the fear was gone. Throughout the set, these clubs are a degree flat compared to the Firesole Irons, but trajectory and length was no different. My shorter iron trajectory has become lower, but that is what I wanted. The feel and backspin generated by TA3 is just great. Contacting the ball in the middle of the club has made me hit the same distance (or more) than my Firesole irons without as much strenght. Very nice clubs.

I'm a 12 that can break 80 or shoot well into the 90's if the short game goes south!! These clubs are way more consistent than I am! I love the clean look at address and simple design. Some of the makers are getting too funky for me, even some of the other new Cleveland models. I've played a lot of different clubs - I'm kind of a nut about trying different stuff. These fit the bill nicely and might just end the search for my perfect club. I can see why they have been so popular on the PGA tour! (And even off the tour I'm not sure why anyone plays cast clubs any more with the game improvements made in forged clubs! Unless they also use them to pound nails!) I already picked up a used set to travel with so these newbies don't get stolen on the ride South.

Customer Service

Not a problem so far - they are golf clubs - not a car - how much can go wrong? Although, the chrome looks like a better quality than some forged clubs I've played.

These clubs are great. Before these I had some knock off irons and consistantly shot in the low to mid 80's. With these new Cleveland irons, I shot my first under par round and shoot in the 70's every time I play. I love these irons.

Purchased these great irons back in April 2003. It was purely an impulse decision based on the fact; they where a superseded model with a clearance price attached. (in other words a bargain!) I liked the look of them, which I believe to be a very important part of choosing any golf club. Playing off a club handicap of five, I was looking to improve my ball striking/feel to give better consistency of flight/distance & dissipation. Subsequently: I have reduced my club handicap to three, shot the best scratch score over 36 holes in the Pennard club championship, won the scratch trophy, won the summer knockout, scored 5 consecutive three`s! and experienced my first competitive hole in one! These clubs are fantastic and I can recommend them to any player of respectable ability.

My friends got these irons and they're sweet as hell. Great set up to the ball which gives good confidence and help on those shots that you gotta give it a little muscle. Great workability, If your switching from offset cavity backs you might have to get used to them, dont be surprised if you start hookin the ball.
