Callaway X-18 Irons
I've been playing the X-18 irons for some weeks now and I must say that they have had a great impact on my game. As a true believer in steel shafts and blade design clubheads the fitter needed some time to convince me to switch to graphite shafts and the X-18's. I must say I'm glad that, in the end, I listened to this guy and ordered the X-18's fitted with graphite shafts. The feeling they produce is awesome. Overall these clubs are among the best ones I've ever hit. Anyone with a bigger brain than ego should consider these clubs over blades. The workability of the X-18's is equal to my former Mizuno MP-33 clubs but these are much easier to play and perform more consistantly through my rounds. They are real confidence boosters and somehow make you produce the shots you visualise on adress. Don't just buy these off the shelve but have them custom fited by a real pro. Leave your ego and old ideas about clubs and shafts at home and I'm confinced that you'll go for these ! Customer Service Till now no need to contact Callaway Customer Service Similar Products Used: Titleist DCI 990, Mizuno MP-33 |

Callaway X-18
I LOVE THESE CLUBS!!! When looking for a new set I hit just about every brand out there. These were the most comfortable and the heaviest (with steel shaft). I picked them up this past weekend and headed straight to the range to test them out. Mine are 1 inch longer and 2 degrees upright, which is more and more common as far as fitted sets go. I took two of my old clubs (Tommy Armour 845's) and compared them side by side with the X-18's and really enjoyed the difference in control and feel. My father was also impressed (and nervous) with my new sticks. Needless to say, the improvement you will see from these clubs far out weighs the cost. The next review I write, you will see an improvement in my scores. Customer Service Have heard only good things. Similar Products Used: Tommy Armour 845 Wilson Fat Shafts Titleist DTR |

These are awesome irons. I switched from the x-16's and these are more solid, look better at address, and are a bit more workable. The uniflex shaft will probably work for most players except for single digits. A good balance of forgiveness and playability. Customer Service I broke a gap wedge (x-16) at the hosel, took it into the pro shop at my club, and Callaway replaced it before the pro had even sent out the old club. First rate! As far as looks, feel, power, distance, workability, these are the best clubs i have ever hit. i was torn between these and thew ping G2 irons. after 2 hours of hitting both, and being fitted for the PING's i went with these. Straight from the shop, i went to the range and hit 400 balls and was shocked at how well i was hitting. these are the most solid feeling, and best sounding, and best looking irons ever. Customer Service Excellent. I broke a shaft and got a free club of the same iron no questions asked. x 18 irons
Purchased these Feb. 14, 2005, they are the most solid irons I have EVER played. I love the thiner top line and the narrower sole. The uniflex shaft was a pleasant surprise. The irons have a beautiful appearance and perform tremendously from tight lies. If you don't have a set of these get them, if you do have a set, you understand what I am talking about. Customer Service Nobody is better Similar Products Used: Taylor Made RAC OS, Cleveland Ta5, Hogen Apex plus. |

Very Nice Irons. Have played 5 rounds with them now and can say that these are Definetly an upgrade from the x-16's. Much softer feeling than the 16's and the uniflex shaft was fine for me. My swing with a driver is 110 mph. Ball does not balloon and you can work these. Overall, I am very happy with these irons. Definetly a keeper! |

callaway X18 Tour
A friend who plays on Tour was in Palm Springs this past weekend to play in the Hope Classic. He called and asked if I could carry the bag for a couple days. His caddy was recupping from the flu and its a 5 day tournament. So you know I jumped all over that. Well I picked him at the airport on Monday and off to La Quinta we go. We head over to the Callaway Tour Van. He said he had to pick up his new sticks. They brought out a couple boxs and we open them up. They were the new X18 Tours which our the first forged clubs Callaway has made. We head off to the range for a test drive. About 5 minutes later a couple of guys from the van come over with his new bag and a hand full of drivers. So he is hitting some pw shots and he looks back at me and says get in that other box and take a few cuts. After getting warmed up and hitting a few pw I started getting into it. I have never been a Callaway fan. But I have to say these are some real sweet clubs. Solid fell and the distance control is on par with my mizuno's. The forgiviness is what make these shine. I do not hit the dime on every swing, so off center hits were hard to detect because of the forgiviness. But the sound when you nut one is the best yet. He swings a little stiffer shaft than I use. But I can tell you they are the real deal. Well after 2 days of humping 60+ pounds around Burmuda Dunes and Tamarisk. His real caddy showed up and I think everybody was ready for a change. If you think being a caddy is glamerous go for it. I worked my ass off and my reward a new set of forged X18 Tours,a driver,4 wood and a new staff bag what a friend. Can't wait to get the shafts changed out. As for my Bud he needs a little more work with his new sticks missed the cut by 2. I don't know when they will be available to the public or the price. But when they are give them a try. Callaway has a real winner here hope they don't price themselves out of the market. The value rating I gave is not a reflection of the club. I don't know what these will sell for. You have to put in a value rating to post review. There will be a up date after a shaft change and a few rounds and few hundred practise balls. Customer Service Have never used, but if the customer service people are like the guys in the tour van their a winner in that area too. Similar Products Used: I play Mizuno blades, but the Mizuno Grad MP from a few years ago are very simular. Mid high ball flight and forgiving. |
