Ordered the x-16's in Rifle shaft Tour stiff as my previous Irons were s300. The long and mid irons were excellent, long powerful flight but the tour stiff gave me problems with the 8,9 and Wedge. Have had to re-order in a Dynamic Gold s300 shafts. Otherwise love the look of the irons and cant wait to get the new set with the right shafts for me. Customer Service n/a |

X-16 Pro 2 iron
Callaway has got a great set in the x-16s. I bought a 2 iron and it is the most forgiving easy to hit club in my bag. Great distance off the tee, and easy to hit a mile off the deck. Only bad thing is the high trajectory I get from it. Also, beware of shafts, I find Callaway shafts to play much softer than labelled. I use the tour stiff and it feels a little whippy. Great irons, what more is there to say? The best Callaway has come up with yet. Great for good players, great for average players, great for terrible beginners even! Well maybe not so much the last group, but these irons are above and beyond a typical Callaway iron. I would suggest them to anyone. I have them with Rifle Stiffs and man oh man does it feel sweet to stick a green from anything further than 150 yards. Golf on Peeps! Customer Service Slow response on emails. Wow. Very solid, very forgiving, very workable. Good looking irons, too. I've played Eye 2's, Cobra Gravity Backs, Tommy Armour EVO V-31's, and have looked at newer Pings, Titleists, Hogan Apexes, Mizunos, and the Cleveland TA7 Tours. It came down to the X-16 Pros and the TA7 Tours, -- both are great irons, but I thought the Callaways were a bit more forgiving. Solid, solid, solid. Great fun to work the ball -- it's almost effortless. Highly recommended for mid to low handicap players. Customer Service No experience with Callaway C.S. Hesitant to trade in my Hogans for these but glad I did. Good soft feel for a cast club. Gained about 5 to 6 yds in distance with same shafts lengths and lofts. Very straight and ball can be worked left or right if needed. Very forgiving even more so than my old set of Hogans. Customer Service Callaway put wrong shafts in, got a brand new set within a week. Great service. Similar Products Used: Ben Hogan Apex Edges |

very happy with these clubs. have played the ping i3 o size for the last year plus, but decided to try callaway irons after buying their big bertha II driver and loving it more than my ping tisi tec. i hit my long itons well enough, but had trouble with aim with the short irons with my i3's. i think because of the offset. so i tried out the x-16 regular and pro series, and decided on the pro series mostly because of less offset. feel wise the x-16s have a softer feel than my ping i3's did, but the distance is about the same. the reduced offset has also helped me straighten out my short iron shots. i was thinking about the vft hawkeye irons, however my swing is not very fast, and this causes a significant loss of distance with the vfts (like a one club distance loss). if i swung faster perhaps i would have chosen the vfts because they really do get up in the air easier than any iron ive played or tested. however the x-16 i bought also seem to get higher on all shots long iron through short iron than my ping i3's did. like any purchase, best to try them out first if you can. but i definitely recommend these irons over the others i played and tested. I custom ordered my clubs in January of this year. It took me approx two weeks to get them. I've played with these clubs 6 rounds now. And all I can say is that I'm very impressed. These clubs are extremely long and straight. I got the rifle fcm 7.0 very stiff. If your looking to buy new irons I would give these irons a try. these irons are for HACKS.i was playing x-14 pros and switched to these and was very disappointed.absolutely no feel whatsoever. draw hit easily but forget trying to fade.hard to hit from tight lies due to wide sole.the only thing positive about these irons was the distance. long irons off the tee go forever.have since gone back to my ta-3's. Best irons Callaway has made yet. I had them custom ordered because I am 6' 3". Rifle shafts play stiffer than I am used to but this results in straighter shots than before for me. I expect to shave 5 strokes off my hdcp. just by switching to these irons. I plan on taking lessons this summer as well, because we all know you can't buy a good game with clubs - but you can sure inspire confidence. I was stuck between choosing these or the standard X-16's, finally settled on these because the standard X-16's felt the same on every shot regardless if you hit it 30 yds left or 30 yds right. The Pro Series gives you a little more feedback - which is what you need to find out what you are doing wrong. These are also the first set of irons I have bought in 10 years - I am pumped to play golf again. I tested out Taylor Made's, Ping i3's, Titleist 762's, Mizuno MX-20's, and the standard X-16's before picking these. Like I said before, best irons Callaway makes - hands down. If you don't like them, well then there is something wrong with your swing... Customer Service Callling Callaway works better than an email. An Email takes days for a response.
