Very forgiving but not much feel at all. Off-center, toe and heel hits all seem to feel the same. Sensation at impact is mostly metallic "clank" rather than a solid "thwok" like the Ping i3 or Cobra SS-i with the urethane inserts. Somewhat longer than other sets - 5 iron is 38", others usually 37.75" (the quarter inch DOES matter! Longer irons feel longer...) Thick topline actually reduced my confidence: is this iron heavy & hard to hit?, my eyes wondered. Nice design & high resale value. Shiny finish gets dull & scratched very easy - but at least it's not chrome. Nice alignment aids on clubfaces. Shafts fairly stiff & difficult for a 20+ HC, while graphite shafts from Callaway are whippy & unstable. Go for DG R300s or S300s. Customer Service No experience. Had the x-12's, but I sold them to get newer technology. Bought the x-14's. I gained almost a club in distance. Originally wanted the 2002 Big Bertha irons, but had a bad experience with an online retailer, BHM golf, beware! I am glad I went with the x-14's instead! Customer Service Callaway customer service is outstanding!! The reps are the best that you will ever deal with! The customer service at CallawayPreowned is tops also, they really took care of me! Fairly forgiving, but I don't know if that's so great. Short, even when well hit, but so dead of feel it's had to tell when you've hit them well or not. Thought I got a great deal but got less than I paid for. Trading them in for Deep Reds first chance I get. Customer Service Never needed. Sorry guys, these just don't feel like golf clubs should. The distance was stronger than my forged Mizuno's, but when you really catch it, there is something missing. These clubs are better suited for the very high handicapper. I bought.... and 5 rounds later I sold! |

Initially, I loved these golf clubs and played very well with them. Once shooting my best round of 10 under par in a 1 day tournamnet to win by a few to say the least. But as time went on I lost more and more confidence in the long irons as I think they had a mind of their own. I found I would never attempt a half shot with these clubs either I was always trying to hit it hard with the shorter club. For the first time every my distance control was horrible and maybe all of this was a factor of the constant weight shaft... After 2 seasons I dumped these and went back to the ping eye 2s. Wow... I gave up a bit of short iron distance and picked up a bit of long (3 and 4 iron) distance. Every shot just seems to go where I aim with the expected trajectory and distance. I'm back to playing to a soild +3 or 4 handicap and re-gained all my confidence and more. Don't get me wrong these are great clubs if you need more distance and a forgiving club. Excellent clubs. In fact, I love them so much that I buy a 2 iron to hit off the tee and get great result like Tiger. I wish... These clubs are very forgiving. Some may say they have no "feel". But when I see most of my shots fly high and long straight toward my target, I FEEL GOOOOOOOOD. Similar Products Used: Ping I3,TM 320, Titleist 981, TM SuperSteel, Ben Hogan Apex+ |

Great irons. straight and forgiving. The problem i had with these irons was that i could hit my 10yr old Dunlop's from sportmart farther than the X-14's. the price tag didnt help either. I went with 2003 Top Flite Tour. Similar Products Used: Taylor Made 320, Titleist DCI 762, 822OS, Cleveland TA-5, TA-7, Ping, Top Flite XL2000 |

A guy I knew won these at a tournement and had no use for them. He let me play a round with them and I was sold! I love these clubs! Very forgiving and great feel. I can tell the difference from my old no name brand, i cut my scores from 120's to 90's! Great look and I love the weighting. Customer Service Not needed Similar Products Used: none |
