Callaway X-12 Irons

Callaway X-12 Irons

DESCRIPTION

The 1998 Big Bertha Irons feature all of the game-enhancing characteristics of the Great Big Bertha Titanium irons in a stainless steel head. The sweet-spot of the club has been increased over the standard Big Bertha iron. The weight has been re-distributed around the club and the center-of-gravity has been lowered to create a more heel-and-toe balanced iron. The top line has also been thinned to make this the most playable club Callaway has ever created. (Price for 3-PW Steel Shaft)

I love these clubs! These clubs are by far the "easiest to hit" irons ever. All I can say is that these irons are well worth the purchase and they lowered my score!

After years of playing with Hogan Edges
(which I loved),I felt I needed to take advantage of the newer technology to get the most out of my game. I fought the "fat" edge on the top of the club, but could not get past the fact that the clubs performed better than any other club I had tried. The feel, flight of the ball and consistancy were what made me decide to buy the x-12s. They are the best club I've ever played!

I have had these 1 year old clubs for less than a month and already am in love. These clubs could quite possible turn this 25 handicap to 15 with a little work. Off center hits go straighter with little loss in distance. Definitely not as long as the Taylor Mades but seem to be easier to hit. Definitely easier than my Armour 955's. In a word "Callaway" is all that needs to be said. Callway = QUALITY and well worth the extra $$ if you have them.

These clubs are good for a slicer or inconsistant ball striker. Large sweet spot for forgiving shots, but it will turn a draw into a hook if you are not careful, which is why they needed to offer a pro series with less offset.

Well, I have read most of the reviews about the X12s and other clubs with a 4+ rating and found out some interesting things. Golfers using terms like looks and feel, both are as personal as a putter. A good set of stix allows the golfer to hit the ball consistently through out the set. That is all that matters. I used to be a die hard Ping man until I purchased these. What I looked for was an set that was consistent througout and had long irons that I could hit consistently without thinking and these were it. The only thing I did not like about these as well as others stix is the gap in distance that has been created between the PW(140 yds) and a SW(110). It made me buy an gap wedge.

Customer Service

Excellent, I snapped the shaft my 3iron and they replaced it with a new club in a couple of weeks. They even answer emails about shafts and the like.

This is the first iron set that I have had and I love it. I ordered a custom set with extra 1 inch in length and 2 degree upright lie. I'm 6'5" and just had little experience in golfing. Well, I must admit that this club feels real good when I hit it solidly. Distance? A big smile! Consistency? Another big smile. I love this club. The only thing that bothers me sometimes during practice at the driving range is these clubs are heavy compared to others. Made me tired during my iron practice.

I just got these clubs as a graduation present from my parents. I chose these clubs much due to the high ratings of this site. They are awesome. I played moderately in terms of solid strokes and I still posted a 47, which is pretty good for me. Very forgiving clubs perfect for beginners. I would just like to thank all who posted here because I found my game.

These clubs are everything what a typical golfer can dream, but oversized clubheads makes X-12 look and feel heavy when you are swinging, if you have tried, for example, X-14 irons. Also the the offset
of clubhead isn't ideal for you if u aren't suffering slice.
Steel shafts are better if you aren't 70 years old :)
