I just got this set about a month ago and I'm enjoying playing now more than I ever have. I can't believe how well I am hitting these irons and even able to work the ball a little which is something I've never had much success with. I can hit them high, low and even draw them when I want to. No bad surprises anymore. I've seen some posts where some have said these lack feel or feedback. You need to get your nerves checked. I am hitting the best 3 and 4 iron shots of my life with these and it feels perfect and powerful when I flush them which I'm doing much more regularly now. I've never had a set of irons in which hitting long irons was fun...until these. Mid irons are easier to hit as well and much more consistent. Short irons are about the same as my old 962's were. Confidence inspiring at address. I like these much more than my old X-14ps. Not really longer overall but more consistent ball striking which has meant consistently long shots. Bad swings lose little distance but you have to try to miss with these. I'll be playing these for a long while. Bravo Callaway. Customer Service Never needed them. I used to be an 8 index but an injury kept me off the course for two years. On my return my 962b's weren't that friendly anymore. I searched for a club that still had feel and workability but had forgivness. I tried em all G2's - good, Taylor Made - JUNK do they make anything that feels good ?? Mizuno's very nice too. I was very reluctant to even try the Callaways because I had purchased a set of x 12's years ago that I sold in a month. I purchased them just over a month ago and its beeen awsome. The DG S300's keep the ball online like lasers. My handicap has dropped from a 13.7 to 10.8. You can work them fairly easy too. Do they feel as good as blades or even my 962b's...no. But they have excellent feel for a cavity back and it FEELS great when I miss one and its on the front collar of the green not 10 yards short. I love these sticks Customer Service Always the best !! I have played Wilson Staff and Mizuno forged blades for 33 years. The X-18 PS irons are very stable and make the game easy again. I can work these high, low, fade and draw. They inspire a lot of confidence at address and the handicap should go back below 6 again. Customer Service Fitting was superb. I would love to go to their testing center in Carlbad. I custom ordered these with Rifle Flighted 6.0 shafts and I couldn't be happier. They have a nice crisp feel to them. Trajectory is medium which I prefer(but that really depends on the shafts you put in them). I was playing the X16 PS before and these sticks are definitly an upgrade. The distance control seems very consistent. I know this comment will make alot of people cringe but I love the way they look behind the ball. To me they inspire confidence. They are pretty forgiving as well which I'll take all the help I can get. Customer Service Callaway is always excellent with there Costumer Service as they should be shelling out this kinda $. I recently had the chance to demo the Ping G2 and Callaway X-18 irons. I have always been a Ping iron player but the X-18's seemed to just feel better in my hands. After many swings the pro at my local shop had me try out the Pro series. It seemed that my ball flight was too high with the regular X-18 irons. A couple of swings and I was sold. The DG S-300 shafts are perfect as usual!!! Played my first round yesterday and .....WOW!!!! I have never broken 90 before and now 86!!! I stuck it inside 2 feet twice from over 170 yards out. Can't wait till my next round. Maybe 85,84,83............................................ Customer Service No need. Similar Products Used: Ping I3+ |

Love my new clubs! I hit the demo set with graphite shafts, but still not ready to give up my love for TT Dynamic Gold. These irons give me acceptable distance on less than perfect struck shots, and hold a line better than any I have played thus far. I played with a standard lie set for a month, waiting for my 2 degree flat adjusted set to come in. Although of course I was getting a little frustrated with my ball missing left on tight lies, I was more than compensated when my fitted set arrived. The first week of ownership while playing with my weekly men's club tournament, I took low net and closest to the pin. Another by product being with a higher trajectory, my ball is stopping quicker, even last week coming back about 10 feet. So far I am quite impressed. I have about 15 rounds in with them and really getting spoiled thus far. I have tried many offerings from various manufacturers, and I must say, I have never been a fan of Callaway irons, but they really hit a home run with these! I was really impressed with these sticks. I really liked the compact design of these irons. They give u great feedback on well struck and poorly struck shots. Suprising to me is that u can work these clubs, which I have never found callaways able to do until now. I would rank them right behind the Ping G2, and Mizuno x-23 in that order. The ball just seems to explode off the clubface. Callaway has really outdone themselves with this series of iron. I am having trouble now deciding between the x-18,G2,and mx-23. I was throughly impressed with these sticks, so go demo and find out what I am raving about. Customer Service second to none |

These are the best clubs I have ever hit....period. They have the best feel, and also gave me an extra 10 to 20 yards from my old clubs, The X-14's. Similar Products Used: x-14, nike slingshot |

Just to prefix this story I'm playing golf for 4yrs (h'cap 11) played with a set of arnold palmer irons 'till now bought a set of mizuno mp-32's that i found to tough to hit especially long irons anyway so they had to go and the rest as they say is history .....................so then I too have recently got a set of callaway x-18 pro series irons after previously being put off callaways by their "chunky" look but the pro series are a slimmed down version more pleasing to my eye anyway. The results have been excellant, plenty room on the clubface for any off centre hits which still get out there and on hits from the sweetspot excellant ball flight and distance. As one other reveiwer has mentioned also on the short shots if you can nip them off the fairway serious action on the ball which too is also pleasing to the eye. |
